So after the whole Cerberus Network card not working issue I still decide to put hours into the game. After 9:00 PM EST it was fixed. Huzzah. I play for another hour or so, have my first random crash to the blue screen of death.

I reboot, and start the game up. I get prompted to log back into my EA account. No big deal. I notice it no longer says resume game. Again I just load my game no worries thus far. I play a bit more and finish Jacks loyalty quest.
Having noticed durring the mission I was seeing pop ups for the whole 1/7 techs found etc I get worried. I save my game. Quit to main menu. Go into Extra's and Achievements not a single one. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

So is there a way to fix this? Is this somehow related to the Cerberus network issue earlier, as in my whole game reset after the fix?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and P.S it's the retail PC collectors edition.

Has this happened to anyone else at all? Any idea for a fix or am I just going to have to restart the game and hope for the best?



Hope I don't have to lose the last 12 hours of progress.

Well, it does sound bad. Basically the crash sounds like it corrupted/deleted some of your settings files, usually located in Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2. The BIOGame folder in particular sounds like it got hit. Maybe search your computer for "Player1.prf" perhaps, that's the profile file where all achievements are kept. If there's only one, then there's no easy way to recover the one that was lost. (Sometimes it would be held in a temporary file but those usually get trashed after a restart).

*Edit: As an aside, you didn't happen to change users or something?  Since the game saves to the User\\\\Documents, maybe your profile for some reason is in another user.. although it shouldn't have found your saves either this way.  If you were really worried, someone could provide their profile file and you could use theirs - it wouldn't be a perfect match, though.

This just happened to me except i was on Miranda's loyaly mission. After already completing the game twice I was going through on the toughest difficulty setting. Game crashed and I restarted. Asked for login info and "resume" was no longer on main menu. After loading my game all achievments are gone. I even loaded one of my completed save games and there is not a single achievement. Any way to recover?
