Any chances of you guys releasing a mod toolset for modders? DA:I was supposed to be the Skyrim for Dragon Age fans...and instead we only have 15 pages of mods on the Nexus, and at least 10 of those pages are just premade characters...a major part of what makes Skyrim a good and arguably timeless game is how the community is constantly able to add to the game...more companions, more quests, more armor, abilities, etc. Instead, you guys are limiting the community because why, you're scared the community will end up making a mod that you planned on releasing as DLC? If that's the case maybe the DLC shouldn't cost anything.

 

This is coming from someone with 200 hours played of DA:O, and 150 for both DA:2 and DA:I, has bought every DLC and the DA:I Inquisitors Editions...I really wanted this game to be great, but honestly it's just barely good. It seems like you guys are spending a lot of time adding things for multi-player, which is fine...but at least give the modding community a toolset so that the community can add things to single player.... It almost feels like you guys are forgetting that the only reason Dragon Age even has this huge following is because of the first two games, which didn't have multi-player. I saw the same thing happen with Assassins Creed Unity, they implemented a multi-player co-op and KILLED the single player because of it.

If the argument behind adding more and more content to multi-player is that you're trying to keep people interested, you should again look at Skyrim. The game has no multi-player and still has a HUGE following, there are even youtube channels dedicated to reviewing new mods every week. Your one single player DLC is a short adventure that seemingly ends with just another dragon fight (I haven't been able to make myself play it yet...), but that's not what keeps people playing. New companions, new armor/weapons, new skills and classes, things that fundamentally change the way we play the MAIN story is what keeps people playing. You just added Isabella and a bard to multi-player, what possessed you to think that releasing the bard to single player would be a bad idea? If I saw "new class for DA:I Single Player" I would have launched my game so damn fast...instead I read it and said "great...more multi-player crap".

Basically what I'm trying to say here is PLEASE, if you're not going to give us more content that changes how we play through the MAIN story of DA:I, give us a toolset that lets the community change it. I want this game to be amazing, more than anything I want to be able to launch this game and NEVER get tired of it...Dragon Age's pull was its amazing story, and that's what kept us coming back, so why are you trying to make the multi-player the thing that's supposed to bring us back? Let us help you make this game amazing and timeless.

Not likely, you have to use 3rd party tools like those on sourceforge unless you want to shell out for a frostbite development system.  In either case it takes a lot of people to make DLC mods happen.

BioWare will never again release a toolset for any of their games. It doesn't fit into EA's profit plan. The only toolset was for Origins, and that was not an EA era game.

In a recent tweet Mike said it was something they'd like to do but the technical hurdles to it being a reality are huge.
If they could get $$$$ back like valve and Bethesda tried to do, that would probably make it more appealing to them.

CDPR is supposed to be releasing modding tools sometime after Witcher 3's release. If that catches on and nets CDPR extra sales that could help make it happen in a future BW game too I suppose.

As for now though, not happening.
