"Do you think if this movie succeeds at the box office, it will prove that audiences want to see women’s stories too?"
This line of discussion, has and always will boggle my mind. Sure, maybe they do have something to prove to the film making higher ups, but for me its always been pretty damn simple:
No, I don't want to see women's stories.
I don't want to see men's stories either.
I just want good ones.
I'm actually doing a paper on gender representation right now. Due to stuff like this being almost the full extent of theory available in the subject... its been tiring to say the least.
