NO one is saying there shouldnt be any Cool female characters we knew Theron was going to be a badass bald chick about 4 years ago give or take. hell i recall her character being teasesd when Gibson was involved in the 90s.

This is more about the Eve Ensler thing. i my self think she has a Girl chubby for victim mentality but thats just me.

and to be honest Only one Website blew a gasket about the Feminist thing. 1 guy on 1 site and it was a PUA site at that and he said some nasty things about MRAs too.

if we were to look into this movie Philosophicaly the 1st thing we would note is.

WERE THE HELL ARE THEY GETTING ALL THE MECHANICS?

Fallowed by.

ARNT THEY COLD?

then

WHO CUTS ALL THERE HAIR?

then maybe we would point out its a 2 hour long stunt sequence fallowed with pointing out that there was more thaught put into this thread than the script of the movie.

In short no one is Triggered by "why didnt they let her use her real accent?" Therons Furiosa more by the

"Womens be victums.. now i is off to rub one ooot." i garontee no one left the teater pondering a message or questioning anything other than "Can i afford Flamethrower lessons?"

Aren't the films set in Australia?

Lisbeth Salander and Ellen Ripley are good female characters. But Princess Leia is probabaly my favorite female character. She's smart and a good leader. And those hair buns....

WTF?

That scene is BS. Nothing good about it. If you want to advertise put something better.

heres a question for yah. ( i had this tossed at me a few times in different places.)

Would anyone say Furiosa is the best well written female character of all time?
because i still say this is a silly movie where the car is the star and the guy whith the guitar stole the movie.
if it wasnt for that article no one would care and if it wasnt for that Rok's BS there wouldnt be any controversy.

lol

Seems like people (not referring to you here) wants to throw that term into every female character that appears badass in a movie. Furiosa is a character alright, but the movie leaves a lot to be desired, and the characters strenghts mostly stems from the actors and how the express themselves through facial expressions. Other character traits are often left obscured with small hints here and there, enough to define them but not to make earn them the title of "best written character" if you ask me.

Apparently from what I've read there are talks about a sequel that would have a focus on Furiosa, which has mixed feelings from me.

  1. The straight man is a stock character in a comedy performance, especially a double act, sketch comedy, or farce. When their comedypartner behaves eccentrically, the straight man's response ranges from aplomb to outrage, or from patience to frustration.

Certainly, hence why the appeal for me in the franchise has been exploring how differently the world has affected different people in the land, utilizing different avenues to explore the movies' central themes, and Max being the character that we as the audience get to explore it.

Not saying that is not possible to accomplish with Furiosa in it, since there is an appeal to having her in it as well, though I'm personally more skeptical to that approach.

No.

You should see the movie though. It is over the top with its approach on several areas, but still a solid action thriller.

As for the original topic I would say it is much adieu about nothing. Yeah, there was some eye rolly dialogue and maybe a little misandry as well (probably understandable given the circumstances but still) but all of that is pretty much forgotten in favour of action. Hell, at one point Max defeats Furiosa and the girls and steals there ride, certainly doesn't fit with any sort of belief that there was a pushy agenda at play.

Anyway I enjoyed the film, and was really digging the soundtrack. I thought it fit the sequences well. Also, what is up with Tom Hardy and playing roles where you can't understand most of what he says. (ie. Bane).

1-Max can't shoot so Furiosa takes the gun and shoot perfectly at first.

It's a really minor scene and that is why it bothered me. Women can shoot better than men, there is nothing wrong with a woman shooting better than a man. But why did Furiosa have to shoot better than Max? For no other reason than that the woman shoots better?

She balanced the weapon on his shoulder. Max's eardrum took one for the team.

If you look closely 3/4s through the film. The Mysterious Stranger actually helps Furiosa shoot one guy.

There's sometimes more visually impressive stuff done via CGI but Mad Max was mostly practical effects. That's IMO the only impressive thing about the movie.

I didn't say but what bothers me there are:

Why that punk jumps over a car with lots of blade-thorns on it? Seriously how would he even survive!?

and

Why the other punk explodes one of their own cars with an explosive spear?

Ah I saw the explosion happened sooner than I thought.
