just one thing about the veilfire objective

I like what it is and how it works, but I do have one question:

 

Why is the spawn point for the torch random?

 

The furthest I've had to go so far is to the back end of the second room in zone 4 of the Vint ruins, call me daft or something, but would it not make more sense to have the torch at the start of the zone?

I guess they want to have a sense of urgency perhaps in you getting the torch.

 

The way I do this objective now (much to the chagrin of my teammates at times) is that as soon as I get my hands on the torch I race ahead to light the fire.  As in run right though spawns get the fire lit and then run back to where the team mates are.  This has worked well so far though I've only done it once on perilous which might be too risky.  In any case I try and get it over with quick.

I use the same strategy,but I try to encourage the team to follow,then work our way back,getting the rooms and pots afterwards.

How often are you guys seeing this objective pop up in rotation with the others (original objectives)?

 

I'm just curious because I have yet to see the veilfire objective since the DLC and patch dropped, which seems... weird. Yet, everything else is there and working - the new characters, new map, and dragons. But it's been the same ol' Assassinate Something/Recover Stuff/Don't Let Inquisition Dude Die objectives.

People seem to treat the poison as instant death.

it's not that, so you don't need a bubble escort to every pot ...

How often are you guys seeing this objective pop up in rotation with the others (original objectives)?

 

I'm just curious because I have yet to see the veilfire objective since the DLC and patch dropped, which seems... weird. Yet, everything else is there and working - the new characters, new map, and dragons. But it's been the same ol' Assassinate Something/Recover Stuff/Don't Let Inquisition Dude Die objectives.

Seems more rare, rarer, ....um....less frequent than the others from what I have seen.  I actually forgot it was a new thing the 1st time I got it and thought BioWare had snuck in a hazard map like the ones in ME3MP

All the maps are already potentially hazard maps.

If they contain Druffalo  :P

I have had the veilfire objective many times since it was introduced, including the first little game (solo) I did after it came out.  Got to wave 4 and wondered what the hell was going on.

Fun is when you join a match, spawn at the beginning of the room, and the are halfway to the brazier...I lost half my health just catching up!   :o

At least you don't have foes to deal with,

so it's just like jogging in any metropolitan city  :D

They need to put a drufflao in mass effect mp.  Get those geth infltrators out of their sniper perches.

I hoped Giant Hazard was going to have a Thresher Maw or at least packs of varren when it was announced.

I like that instead of getting an objective free zone now you can get 4 objective zones in one match and get over 1k gold on a single threatening run through... much better to get enough gold to buy a box on every match, now if only they could give us the unlimited inventory with store boxes dropping crafting mats instead of potions it would be brill, especially since we get so many junk weapon often duplicates of the same one in multiple boxes ...

That would have been awesome.  Well BW has raised the bar by adding Dragons.  Hopefully ME:Next will have something/s similar.  It would have been epic to have the team work through all those enemies and in the end having to fight a big ole Thresher Maw and her little maws and Varren.

It's fine to a point, only issues come when running with pugs and they think they cannot do anything while they have the torch, so they stand still while we fight, of course it was a keeper too, so the party lacked barrier, they even stood directly next to the objective logs and didn't do anything. I was glad when they got attacked and dropped the fire, which allowed me to light the damn fire, like seriously.

Arent the Brutes Harcore enough? Unless you want to modify their charge and make it longer and unstoppable.

The torch has so much trolling potential. Just change direction randomly while running between spawns and watch the panic as 3 players do that little circle dance as they try to figure out where you're going.

I like picking up the torch as Zither because it forces people to stay close to me. Not so I can barrier/buff them, but so my mana regen is better. #spamhotlicks2winperilous

It's fine to a point, only issues come when running with pugs and they think they cannot do anything while they have the torch, so they stand still while we fight, of course it was a keeper too, so the party lacked barrier, they even stood directly next to the objective logs and didn't do anything. I had a keeper pug the other day escort the torch through to every treasure room (Why?! You can do them after everyone isn't slowly dying as you sprint off with the torch)...I thought 'Okay, fine. Hold the torch if you want, I'm not actually dying.' But then I should have picked it up when they dropped it to CL in the last room because they just picked it up again and stood there until everything was dead and still almost didn't light the bonfire. They almost got Hall killed because he somehow got himself outside the torch bubble aggroing whatever wasn't knocked down. I usually don't get frustrated/lose my cool, but that was a close one for some reason. XD

 

Overall, I think it's a fun one. But I don't understand why you still lose health when you have barrier and/or guard. At least with Barrier I can still see my health bar, but it gets a little iffy squinting through full guard sometimes.

My God, I wonder if it was the same one xD, I know at the time, it was a level 19 keeper, so judging by level, I would've expected some ingame knowledge
