I agree. I would hope that anybody who's actually genuinely interested in BDSM would do a crapton of research and self-reflection before attempting anything in their personal life, but that'd be true whether IB sparked their interest or not.

I wouldn't take that bet. :P

So...I evidently documented the whole IB-romance as a male-Qunari (it is in my youtube-playlist if someone is curious God please let people be curious I had to play DAI for that) and I didn't know I was doing BD...something romance. I no kidding you here. Propably because I'm not even curious about all that, it never even came to my mind. Lol, all I was thinking when first sex-scene (what sex-scene there was no sex shown) came that omg, IB must have a HUGE...ehm...that thing...and my Qunari propably has to take it, and later IB says that "actually it has been him taking it" which just verified my thoughts of...you know...my Qunari and IB and his huge...you know.

Point: people do interpretations from their stand point...or point of view or how you say it in English. Anal-sex is not a "must" in gay-relationships, or so I've been told. Yet that was what I was thinking.  Point: we should not believe that things in games/movies/books even try to be realistic. Or are a some sort of example of reality. I dunno how to say this better.

Btw 50 shades or Yack is utter rubbish and I find it scary that some women think it is romantic. Some wannabe-writer found a way to monetize co-dependency, obviously.

Just out of curiosity, female or male Inquisitor? I was just wondering if there's a difference of position ahem. :P

I'm not very sure, but I'm thinking it would be worse for a female elf Inquisitor, lol!

OMG I don't want to think that and now you put the idea in my head. On the bright side: she can take it as a rehearsal for giving birth, just the opposite. (I really don't want to think THAT either BSN is cursed)

Why do people complain we don't have enough homosexual romances? Given the amount of romancable companions, two each is a good thing. I just realized yesterday that Iron Bull and Josephine were bi. Didn't know till then. Anyway, just wondering, don't wanna mess with everyone's personal preferences.

I dunno, it seems to me the women are nearly always on top in Dragon Age/mass effect game romance scenes.

In regard to DAI, they mostly don't. Some people are disappointed that Cullen and Solas aren't bi options, so there are more male LIs available to female PCs than male PCs, but the vast majority of people seem pretty happy.

The complaints were mostly in regard to DAO, where there are only two same-sex options compared to four opposite-sex ones.

Fair enough. Btw, under which circumstances do you get the Cullen romance scene with Cullen playing chess with Leliana instead of Dorian? Does anyone know?

To get back on topic: Yes, next time I wouldn't mind more variety. Perhaps a young female elf who's dominant? Would make for an interesting contrast. ^^

None of that is making me like that trash any better. Even his "company" is a joke. A bunch of castaway losers led by a bigger loser. Oh, how grand. Nah, I'm just not an Iron Bull fan, and the funny thing is, the Inquisition Qunari was the reason I was MOST excited before release.

Edit: The only one I actually like from amongst that lot is Krem, and I like him extremely much. I just WISH that Krem was the companion instead of Bull. But, no, the singlemost likeable character, and we have to kill him. What fun.

I agree, can't stand IB for various reasons plus he's hard to look at.  I also think Krem should have been the chosen companion  although I liked the "Not a Mage" elf more.

What I found uncomfortable with the IB romance was the 'my way or the highway' attitude - you're basically told to accept that he's going to do what he wants or you don't get the romance. To me that's not a good representation of what this type of lifestyle should be, which is precisely why I haven't romanced IB on any of my playthroughs.

I think you have to not recruit Dorian to get that scene.

I can already tell this will be a thread needing a good purging by yours truly.

1349384006267.png

Let's not even begin discussing how idiotic the concept of S&M is, how it dilutes a culture into sex-fiends where already problems exist. Let's not even begin discussing how it has no legitimacy, merit, or purpose. Let's not even discuss anything related to something that in real life should be a punishable crime along with beastiality and other forms of needless sexual deviancy by bored and lonely sickos who can't get it off otherwise. No, let's discuss it as an in-game thing.

Why? Why does Dragon Age of all things need S&M? Why does it need doms, subs, bondage, and all this other ****? Because Iron Bull was retconned into liking it, when no Qunari ever would be such a sexhound? Iron Bull was one of the most poorly-received, heavily-mocked characters of the entire game, and you call his "S&M" 'great' and then ask for more? Might as well go get stung by a horde of bees then go to shake the hive once they're done. You're killing your own game and ruining it for those who love it; unless, of course, we get the option to kill the companions who hyper-advocate for S&M. A chance to kill Bull would be a chance I'd pay DLC money to have. Iron Bull was a horrific character, and the Qunari race's sudden retconning into being hyper-sexual hippies was one of the most criticized elements of the writing. If you advocate for more characters like him, for more "S&M", then you are what is destroying this game and its franchise and its canon. YOU, not Bioware, are what is causing writing quality to drop, gameplay to be casualized, dialogue to be slashed and burned, and the once-beloved series to fall flat on its face and die in the dirt.

Before you ask, no, I'm not a Christian or even religious or theistic at all. I'm someone who has common sense, moral fiber, and thinks all this stupid "free love and sex maaaaan" bullshit is killing our modern society.

Welp, we almost made it to page 4 without any of you showing up.

Clearly, you have no clue what you're talking about and if I interpret your sig correctly, then your purpose here is to troll and inflame a civil discussion. Kindly go away please, if you have nothing of value to add.

This isn't a hugbox or an SJW discussion, is it? No, it's not. And nice job editing my post subversively, kiddo. The original is still up there.

I'm giving my opinion. If it enflames or pisses anyone off, that ain't my problem and it isn't my intention. My intention is to speak my mind. If it pisses you off, then you're the one who 'kindly' needs to go away. That's what some of you don't seem to get; I'm not trying to 'troll' or 'incite' you, you're the ones overreacting and forcing yourself into an oppressed, harassed, angered position, then blaming it on ol' Handsome Jack. The internet's for big boys, and if you're gonna cry because someone criticizes your idea, then you don't belong here.
