Don't worry Shadeling, it's perfectly fair.

Adding my voice to this. What with the dialogue, the cast of characters, all of the codexes, the books.... there's just so much to the world building here, but the way DA is structured still allows for the characters to be at the forefront, because they're so interesting and the relationships you can build with them can be so enjoyable. It really is well done, and I tip my proverbiale cap (I own no literal caps, I'm afraid) to all those involved. David Gaider escpecially, since he'll be working on the other IP now, which I still can't really believe yet, I suppose! Though Patrick Weekes is fantastic, of course. XD

Eh... it's only ass-kissing if the people replying are doing it because they know it's ass-kissing. For me, I'm beyond grateful on a personal level because after some extremely tragic moments in my life over the past few years, this series has helped me through it. It helped/taught me to be stronger, to make choices though difficult that are better than shortcuts that could make things worse, and it re-inspired the author/artist in me. It's a different reason for everyone in the end.

I'm glad this thread exists. It's too easy to take these games and the people who make them for granted.

One can always wonder how it feels to be part of the writer's pit... Gosh, I'd die to have something like that, a huge creative brainstorm when I could just exchange my ideas with other people then we write a legacy together... Must be a dream come true for many writers.

Meh DA:I doesn't deserve a thank you, one of the biggest disappointments I have experienced in a long time
There was almost nothing good about that game (except some companions like Dorian and Cassandra) and I'm shocked that the DA team would make something like that (the story and the side quests especially damm) they are better
But still a huge Thank You from me to the Bioware team for DA:O and in some aspects DA2
Especially DA:O is still a great game and one that I won't forget

I suspect it would be Heaven, Hell, and some days a job you'd want to run screaming from. But I'd like to hope you go home at night, after alternatively laughing and ripping your hair out, satisfied that your voice was heard and you helped breathe life into a world that you and others can play in.
Me? I'd come out covered in red pen and a more than slightly psychotic expression.

Whoever wrote Warden-Morrigan romance is truly brilliant. Definitely he most special romance in any game I have played. And Dragon Age Origins was what I would call a really awesome game. Thank you for that amazing game and the very special Warden-Morrigan romance. Very few romance stories have truly touched my soul like the Warden-Morrigan romance touched. Amazing.

Is this where I can confess my not-so-secret crush on Patrick Weekes' writing? If so then uh, I, uh... *lost nerve*
And of course thank you Gaider for making me care. I'll miss your DA work but godspeed to your next endeavour!

Respect to the game designers, Frostbite-Programmers and the landscape-architects.
But sorry, the writing team has made not really a terrible job, but definitely no brilliant job.
The ending was very disappointing. The last mission against "XYZ" (Spoiler): Sorry, that was really bad story-stelling.
Thank you all for the game, but there is also big potential to tell better stories in the future.

While I agree on the ending segment of the third game, I was thanking the writing team mostly for their work as a whole. Not just for Inquisition but for Origins, 2, Awakening, the DLCs, the Codex entries, the novels I still have to read, etc. I'm looking forward what they will give us next in the universe of the Dragon Age franchise.

I agree that the writing is good. It's just a shame that it's only good for the main story and the character interactions. For all the side content it's terrible.

I don't dislike the script in the last mission per se; I'm simply still shocked six months later that the last mission is more "cutscene and two bosses" than anything. That's rough.
It was fine. Just not especially epic.
