DAI is more a poster boy for equality and SJW.  Not a game.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have read today. So thank you.

As for the writing team, still pretty solid overall. So good job there.

Darrah mentioned that they'd tie up some of the loose threads concerning the post-credits scene, and Aaryn Flynn, in response to someone asking about darkspawn and Deep Roads DLC, responded with "funny you should ask!"

That Kotaku Q&A was damn juicy.

Obviously this is just guesswork on my part, but I'd be very surprised if Inquisition only gets 2 story DLCs.

Oh, I didn't mean two about Solas, but rather 2 explicitly post-ending. With the hint about darkspawn/Deep Roads DLC and the Weisshaupt epilogue, I think a Grey Warden DLC about the impending split could be possible.

Ah yes ok, my bad.  And I agree.  And really both will set up the next game I feel...so we could get three over all.

No, it was bad phrasing on my part.

3 feels right. ME3 got 3 SP DLCs (not counting the EC) and I think that worked out nicely for them.

I don't want to ruin your enthusiasm for DS9 and B5, but I think the Lobby could use those threads instead of derailing this one.  :P

having played the game and those issues come up every time I went into dialogue with someone in between running though bland zones with a simple combat system and mind numbingly easy gameplay I have to say the evidence was right there the whole time.

I guess I could've played on nightmare, but when your definition of difficulty can be summed up as "you do less damage and the enemy does more damage"  I'm good on that.  I'll pass.

You don't have to agree with my opinion, but to not at least be able to see that is reaching.  There's no way that's not obvious to someone.  They tried so hard it was overkill.

You get that here sometimes. Just smile and nod. The men in white coats should be about shortly for him/her.

On the subject of DLC my hope is for one on Solas, One dealing with the Wardens and a Citadel like one focused on the cast, and maybe more about Skyhold's history.

Potentially workable with the Solas DLC, as he's the one who led you there and Morrigan clearly still feels ancient elven magic protecting the place. Who knows, maybe something about Skyhold lets you track him down.

True, but I'd rather focus, much like Citadel, on character interaction with the cast rather than it being Solas intensive, which is what the DLC would have to be to wrap up that particular thread.

It boils down to, for me anyway, wanting more scenes like the card game which was brilliant.

I love the idea of tying Solas' DLC in with Skyhold history. I quite enjoy that entire list.

Only thing I'd add is a siege upon Skyhold occuring in one of those. Perhaps the Citadel-esque one. Plenty of jokes to be made about where companions are always standing around. And it'd perhaps give Power more spending... power.

But it'd probably be pretty hard to design.

I'm beginning to see the creation of an entirely fan-fabricated DLC. An attack on Skyhold leads to the discovery of a new, hidden section of Skyhold which contains an Eluvian. Briala's password unlocks it, and the Eluvian leads to a network of Eluvians tied to the ancient strongholds of the Elven Rulers, one of which is Fen'Harels, which gets you on his trail for the confrontation.

It's everything I've ever wanted that totally won't happen!

I remember it being said that there was going to be a strategic piece to DAI as well, but it just didn't work out the way the devs wanted it too (I think it would have been like the new FF, but that's a guess). Maybe they'd get it to work for such a thing, but who knows.

However, there is one other thing I must request for a DLC...

Clark Gregg. We need him doing a VA. More importantly I want him doing a David Gaider or Patrick Weeks written VA.

Please?

Considering most gameplay in the game has nothing to do with the claims regarding the writing, I will disregard that portion of it.

I can agree they tried a bit hard. One example that I both like and hate is the scene with Dorian and his father. I am not a fan of the scene because it is very close to being a derivative as a social commentary. If this was a scene in the original Dragon Age, it would arguably have more impact because of how radical it would be seen. Now, it is not controversial, but comes off as preachy.

However, I love the scene because of the power it brings to the table, through voice acting, cinematography, and otherwise of course, but despite being a possible social commentary, it not only provides character development, in context with the game, but also really showcases the perspective that no one really talks about, that of the parent and their regret for their actions. Dorian is justified in his anger and sympathetic, but they gave his father the real emotional weight, and as someone who has worked with, and know people personally abandoned by their parents because of orientation, it tapped into how complex such emotions can be.

And it didn't let it lie. It is part of Dorian's character. His party banter with Cole in particular showcase it more.

You also need to keep in mind how pluralistic the Inquisition really is, and Thedas for that matter. Not just in terms of races, but kingdoms and ethnicity have been a part of the series since Origins, which was an important part of the game since it made it more of a believable world.

I don't know, I think you are reaching though because the analysis seems off. It's easy to accuse something of being an agenda, but it just seems to showcases your own agenda in the process. Calling it overkill may be fair, but I would argue it's the wrong interpretation.

Well first off I appreciate the post.  It's nice to see where someone else is coming from aside from them just saying they don't agree.

I felt the need to say the gameplay part of my post because in the quote of mine that you called ridiculous I said I wouldn't call DAI a game.  I was showing gameplay wise why I have that feeling.

Let me tell you why my I have the opinion I have aside from what I have already stated.

See my name on this site?  I love (or loved) the Qunari.  They were amazing to me in the game sense...when I learned I was actually going to be able to play one? That's a wrap.  I was pumped!  I was really into the Qun and the Qunari.  The Qunari were completely rewitten in DAI.  DA2 was null and void and DAI changed them.  Not ONLY in a "social" sense, but all around.  They made them watered down and lame compared to how unique they were.  A large part of this was One of the members of the Chargers and how that was ok under the Qun when DA2 said the exact opposite.  They made their dreadnaughts look like a joke.  Made gaatlok like something you could get at the store when in DA2 they would die for it.

I have no problem with how people are and how they want to live their life.  I couldn't care less what anyone chooses to do and I hope they feel the same about me and what I want to do.  I have no issues with any other Bioware game.

While you didn't like my post.  You can at least see where I am coming from and even agreed with me on them trying too hard thats good enough for me.  And what I was trying to say.  You can do whatever you choose, but there are limits when it stops being about the game you are making and starts becoming overkill.  In my mind that line is being stepped on.

Then again I am the type of person who prefers MP more than anything.  So I want ALL gameplay and I can do with minimal story.  That said I will still play SP games and have played the SP to many Bioware games.

They. Have done good but i would argue that DAI doesnt have the flare or the passion that comes with a dragon age game, if you peel away the body of DAI you find swtor underneath it.

And it is a shame that many writers and producer left bioware after DAO. And later migrated to obsidian

Seems like everything is a remix/rehash/ripoff of something, so whatever we say: one thing we like will be disliked by someone else because that person will feel like it's plagiarized on something else.

It's always the way of things. What's the phrase? Everything you think of has already been said by Aristotle? It's the unique amalgamation of ideas that may already be known that make something original, IMO. :)

Im not saying its a bad thing im only saying that is the reason of why DAI doesnt feel like a dragon age game.

And there may be elements that reminds us about something but a whole presentation

As many gripes as I have with this game, as saddened and annoyed as I am at the thought of what the main story could have been like with proper screentime and depth, there's still enough in there that I love ... or I wouldn't be so impacted by the flaws. So, yes, let me add my thank-you to the chorus, too. Particularly for these top five moments and people:

1) The whole of In Your Heart Shall Burn, from closing the Breach to becoming the Inquisitor. What a beautiful, phenomenal rollercoaster.

2) Cole. Especially the more-spirit path, so explicit thanks of putting that in, instead of making humanity the "win condition"!

3) Cassandra. Her friendship scene in the war room left me giddy with joy because it was exactly what I had been hoping for. Earning that formidable person's respect and friendship felt like such an accomplishment.

4) Champions of the Just, what an intense and kickass mission. Cole's introduction, of course, is part of why this is so good, but I like Ser Barris and Envy on their own terms, too.

5) The dance with Florianne and the following public teardown we can give her at high court approval. I felt like a conquering general who had just taken a very hostile battlefield by storm. (And special thanks for not forcing female characters into dresses but giving us a unisex outfit.

I loved the Poirot/Sherlock type reveal that you get to do there, I completely agree! That was so much fun!  However, and I totally get from a practicality point, etc and so forth, I would have loved to have the option to wear a dress.  Because I love dresses and dressing up.  Again, as an option, not a requirement. But it really didn't take away from the enjoyment of the game, and I accept that when climbing trellises, pants are definitely preferable to skirts. :)
