(Sorry if this is the wrong forum) If anyone is interested, I've been running a Twitch stream on M/W/F nights in which I'm attempting to complete the trilogy on Insanity without dying. If I die at any point, I must delete my current Shepard and start back at the beginning with a new one as determined by the viewers (see below). So far I'm on my 6th Shepard, who has currently made it past Horizon on ME2.

I'm also enforcing additional restrictions on my attempt to make it faster, more difficult, and most importantly, more exciting. They're listed below, and I may add more in the future.

Mass Effect 1 Restrictions

  • Shortage: All equipment found in the field must be converted to omni-gel. Any new equipment must be purchased or received as gifts from NPCs.
  • Rationing: No refilling medi-gel from dispensers.

Mass Effect 2 Restrictions

  • Scorched Earth: No planet scanning for resources. All resources must be obtained in the field, from start-of-game bonuses, or from shipments to the Shadow Broker's ship. For this reason, I will be playing as an engineer for the reduced research project costs. I've found that the random broker shipments make the game quite interesting.
  • Small Arms: No heavy weapons, except when required during the tutorial mission.
  • Borrowed Time: Only one optional mission allowed between recruitment missions. This includes loyalty missions, DLC, N7 assignments, or anything else with a "mission complete" screen. Additionally, when the suicide mission is available I must launch it immediately.

Submitting your Shepard

I'm encouraging any viewers to submit and vote on different Shepards for me to play. To submit yours, fill out this quick form and yours may be chosen by the people if my current Shepard dies.

Quick Disclaimer: My first attempt will be with a male Shepard. I'll do an "Ironlady Insanity" attempt for the femsheps after I succeed the first time.

I may introduce more features if the viewership grows. I hope you enjoy it!

I'd hate to see you go through all the trilogy only to die on Marauder Shields. I also don't envy your ME2 adventures. That'll be painful...

there is already a thread in ME1 subforum about it. The op did 2 tries, both ending in a stupid death on a UNC mission and once to a treasher maw. Used a engineer though...

I'm using an engineer too, and I've had my share of stupid deaths. But even if I die, it's kind of exciting to use another person's Shepard they send to me.

Interesting. I've been trying to do an ironman insanity run on ME3, because it's too easy otherwise (even when starting at level 30, although I'm not sure about starting at level 1!), but I just haven't found a way to avoid the RNG when doing every single mission and all the dlc. In my latest attempt, for example, I was on Eden, a mission which I have never previously failed on insanity difficulty, and I pop my head out of cover to shoot for an instant, in exactly the same spot as I've been popping my head up in the past. But this time, everything in the field unloads on me simultaneously. A hopelessly inglorious death follows within much less than a second. Yes, I could have avoided it by being more careful (I was an infiltrator, so I could even have gone invisible ffs!), but employing that degree of care throughout the whole game is extremely difficult (and bordering on tedious).
