I'm shocked at the amount of people asking for this and not having been implemented yet. At least the ones that are already in the game.
Just as astounishing as the mud PJs Laidlaw have stated we should resign ourselves. Really, these two things have been asked from brefore day 1. I can't undesrtand why nothing have been made fot them. ![]()

Ehhh hair for a customizable PC is really difficult to do well - I mean, as far as actual movement and realism goes. I understand why we don't have a whole slew of L'Oreal hairstyles.
But I'd love to see some dreads or braids or something.
Is a little sad not having any kind of movemant when in DA2 we had it... ![]()
But that shouldn't have stopped from having something...well, more tastefull, I think. Like the short style Cass had in DA2, or some good braids and bangs (or simply having Calpernia and Cullen hairstyle for the male)

Problem is there ARE more hairstyles coded in the game. All it takes is a toggle marked on or off. Same goes for clothes and armor. I'll give you a hint. At any given time after you get Skyhold and return to it for the second time, go up the ramparts a little north of Cullen's office. There you will find a group of NPCs standing over some sort of precarious large grate. Forget the grate. Take a close look at the NPCs. I have found several different groups of NPCs up there, ranging from dwarfs to qunari from hunters to sorcerors in clothing and armor we don't see ingame AT ALL. Check it if you don't believe me.

Well, from a modeling standpoint dynamic hair is an impressive show of capabilities!
I'm sure frostbite could perform dynamic rendering of sophisticated hair modeling wrt the NPC movement -but at what cost? No doubt just one strand model could drop most of the consoles to their knees. It's the same issues with advanced behaviors, likely only PS4 and the latest xbox could manage some pace with desktops.
However, something like a ponytail might be simplier.

The vast majority are very masculine styles, the best female styles are the bun and the ponytail but I do think a vast improvement on hair all round is needed. The frigging horses tail has more real hair movement than the slab that is plastered to my inquisitors head. The longer female hair just looks so fake I can't bring myself to use it. Games like the newest tomb raider has done hair really well, but I am feeling we have gone back in time a fair bit here. On a positive note - you guys do water really bloody well.
Buzzcuts don't count. Men and Women got equally shitty hairstyles.

Only if they are playng COD. Many males like good and longer hairsyles if they can choose. Expecially in a fantasy enviromant like DAI. (at least I think, since I'm female. But I love making male characters with longer hair-I may be strange. I love my ladyes with short hair, and my dudes with long hair
)
Thing is, the ahir we got are still quite depressing, expecially if we think to the styles presented to present the races. I would kill for the male elf style and the human female one
(actually, I like all of them)

Probably not, it's too hard and too expensive for them to do it. Oh, and the clipping...

Yeah... because there is no clipping in this game... the problem are of course some possible clipping bangs...

Well he is a god.
We have glitch in the fade.
It was the first gif I found!
and not even the creepier! Like the hand of the Inquistor trapassing her own leg while sitting on the bench whilte talking to Josephine in Haven! And many others example. Thing is, the game isn't clipping free! So the fact that we are forced with a rainbow of shaved styles can't be because of the clipping.
And, clipping doesn't prevent ponytails and one braided style to be there. Nor have a connection to all the balding hairlyne the female characters suffer. The problem here is a total lack of good taste. ![]()

What was shocking to me was how fast hairstyle fashion had changed in Ferelden. Just ten years ago during the Blight most people had shoulder-length, often braided hair, now all of a sudden even the women are wearing undercut styles that would probably require trained hairstylists in every village.

I would gladly have traded about half of the Hinterlands for two or three more decent looking hairstyles that weren't: 1) extremely short, 2) had a visible receding hairline and sideburns on female characters, or 3) covered half the face when in profile.
It's disappointing that we got a really nice CC in everything *but* hair choices.

Female Inquisitors in general and Qunari Female Inquisitors in particular really got shafted in DAI. I was looking forward to playing a Qunari Female Mage Inquisitor until I actually tried to make one in the CC. I ended up settling for a Human Female Inquisitor. If we do end up getting additional hairstyles it will likely be thru a paid DLC. At this point I might even consider paying for it, as long as there were several additional hairstyles including longer hair (and not just new variations of 'buzzcut') and as long as the price was very reasonable.

How about some proper short hair? All we have so far are buzzcuts and those awful partially-shaved hipster cuts. Alistair and Cullen have the best style in the game, but it's inexplicably not available to Inquisitors.
