How about some proper short hair? All we have so far are buzzcuts and those awful partially-shaved hipster cuts. Alistair and Cullen have the best style in the game, but it's inexplicably not available to Inquisitors.

With How Limited alredy are the hairstyles, I find quite frustrating seeing so many NPC (even optional ones Like Calpernia) having unique decent hair.

I find even more annoyng the totala silence in the matter from BioWare.

While males and females definitely both have terrible options, I'm going to argue that females have it worse, specifically because most of the hairstyles have sideburns and/or a receding hairline. At least those things can make sense if you play a male, but it's frankly insulting to force that on female characters. Just in case anyone's wondering, 13/28 of the styles are buzzcuts, and that's not including cuts like Krem's or Dorian's. And that's also not mentioning the rather poor quality of the other 15 options.

It is pretty baffling, to say the least. Heck they could have simply reused the hair from DA2 and it would have been better off lol.

Yes, and the more PTs you do, the worse it gets. You are more or less forced to use the one or two hair styles you like on all your characters. And male characters have it not that much better. If you don't want a crew cut, how many decent short hair styles are left? Two? And the long hair styles are just horrible for men. Even DAO had better long hair for male chars, especially elves.

(disgusted noise)

Eh, in my opinion the women get way more hairstyles than the men, but I guess that just comes down to what I would view as a girly haircut.

I wouldn't call a receding hairline a girly cut.

Frostbite 3 happened.

Those were rendered in Frostbite 3 though. Even if they weren't rendered in-game, they should have known they couldn't use them and stopped using them for promos. That's blatantly taking advantage of hype and manipulating the fanbase.

Just as astounishing as the mud PJs Laidlaw have stated we should resign ourselves. Really, these two things have been asked from brefore day 1. I can't undesrtand why  nothing have been made fot them.

Because the multiplayer (which no one likes) is way more important and it takes decades to make a single hairstyle.

I suspect they didn't make more dynamic hair bin order to support the older PS3/360 systems but when they move to XB1 and Ps4 and stop supporting the older systems will be when we get there I think. After all we do have quite dynamic armour in DAI as I noticed Vivienne's armour blows in the wind as do a lot of the mage armours that I use on my inquisitor. I know the next ME is only going to be released on the newer systems so maybe all this will start to happen then. I won't hold my breath but I'd say there's a better chance things like this will happen then and for any DA or ME games that are released after this.

Actually I find it hard to believe because...well, I have played Dragon's Dogma on PS3. Almost sixty hairstyles, from long hair to short, to braided, to mohawke, to bald and everything in between. For both sexes. (I loved my viking with Obelix style pawn with red tresses  <3 Sadly I made a new gameplay where I created basically Sten) the hair had some phisics, and where very good looking. (better than the DAI hair by a long shot). and even DA2 had a little movemant on hair.  and it was both old gen and limiting engine.

If there is a problem with the old gen, (speaking of hair) is mostly a texture problem. But I don't think it have to do with the dinamic hair. (not when everything else move)

Let's face it. BioWare have no idea how to do hair. And who make them have no taste. Are the only possible motivations. The more I look at others games, the more I see it.

And yet, is not true even it. Because we have the old portrait, and they are great and tastefull. I would pay to use them in game! So why they didn't implemented those? I hightly doubt those where discarded because they thought people would have preferred all those shaved/balding styles!!! :o

You can't rightly claim that they're lying based on leaked camera phone footage of a pre-alpha build. It's not a lie if there's no clear guarantee that certain sequences will absolutely make it in the game.

I don't recall any of this being in Mass Effect.

Continuing to build hype for things that won't be in the game is immoral. Like telling us about customizing keeps a few days before launch. A more communicative Bioware would severely lessen people's expectations, but of course, that's the opposite of what they want. Not to mention you didn't address some of the more obvious and blatant lies 9TalisFox mentioned. Even if one was disproven, it leaves a lot.

Sure people should take pre-release footage with a grain of salt, but you're asking us to basically assume that nothing will be in the game at all! Not the combat mechanics, keep mechanics, decisions, strategy, dynamic environment, etc. You're asking us to take everything with a bucket of salt, and we shouldn't have to. Change should be expected, but overhauls should be explained. Or at least, they should tell us when they happen.

They also said, "By PC gamers, for PC gamers" and look how that turned out...

Bioware promises are like political campaign promises.

Well it was the concept stage of development, and things always have a chance of getting cut during that development stage

It's likely that Bioware wanted to do that but couldn't implement them
