Actually, I use the cheat engine to change the PJ's to my inky's crafted armor and that armor always shows up just fine in cut scenes.

Probably there is some clipping with the heavy armour, or the upgrades with bigger shoulder armour, but I don't think it should me such a big problem to not give the chance? I can understand the when the Inqui sit on the throne the long coat may have some strange effect, but beside these particular...I think there shouldn't be many problems? At least not different from the others ingame scene with the armour on?

The hair who appear under the hat make the hats muuuuuuuuuuuch better  I've resigned myself with hiding completely every kind of hat with my Qunari, since she still have her paint in the face even when in Skyhold, giving the impression that she didn't even wash her face

Is good having the vitaar in battle, but not at home. (expecially since some vitaar are very bad looking or too much evident)

What do Qunari look like with hats? Do the horns clip?

                                                                                        <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

Truly unfortunate, those PJs.  I prefer some official judicial wardrobe myself when sitting in judgement. Be as it may, the only reason for Laidlaw's "get used to it" attitude is the amount of costly and time intensive artistic work necessary to produce what players have clamoured for Bio to deliver.

Think about it. Players want their quizzie to wear their own armour in Skyhold. But, the cut scenes, with the quizzie, are all pre-recorded. No way can you superimpose your specific armour on the quizzie with the varied recorded cut scenes. Now, if the game was able to generated in-game animation, then perhaps it's possible to show different armours. The current setup prohibits that.

Now I know some use the Cheat Engine to change the colour palette of the PJs. I haven't come across anyone mentioning if the change is carried over to the cut scenes.

Actually, that's no true. None of the pre-rendered cutscenes (like the siege of Adamant) have the Inquisitor, Likewise, none of the scenes with the Inquisitor are pre-rendered. It would be impossible to pre-render every face. That's always how it's been for Bioware. So, you can wear anything in those cutscenes just fine, as Chardonney says below :)

I think the GW helm actually shows up on a qunari model in the crafting menu. Basically, the horns clip.

No idea. But since I'm lazy, I Always keep the "no helmet" on.

I just picked up the DLC and I'm using the latest mod manager now (check the DA:I Tools thread here on the forums.)  I'm going to see if No Sideburns is working yet.  I'll let you guys know.

Compared to what modders have done in Skyrim, hair in Inquisition is utter garbage. In fact compared to Mass effect series and DA2 these hairstyles are utter crap beginning with sh and finishing with t. An absolute embarrassment. But dont worry. There will be an alternate appearance pack, like in ME 2, with different hairstyles for the low low price of $9.99.

It's been six month, and beside the BE, the mayority of the players is still can't play their first sp DLC, so I have Little hope something For the appearance Will be out For the sp.

But I jave to say that of only the Money can have BioWare wake up and work as they should, I Will buy a pack with hairstyles and alternative to the jammies.

I would find it odd if we go through the DLC cycle without gear/aesthetic packs. It would be the first game since ME1 to do so, and it's relatively easy money. If they do release some and no hairs or Skyhold alternatives, well, I'll be pretty dissapointed in their priorities considering the fans' unified voice on the topic.

Yeah, it feel absurd that they don't want to resolve the jammies problem, but that's how every declaration point to. Thing, is, it's been six months, one DLC (not counting BE and MP) and no comunication at all. Hopes are fading.

It is incredible how bad the hair is from the styles to meshes and textures. even skyrim has good looking ponytail with physics that was added by modders. There should at least be some ponytails and dreadlocks with physics and other decent looking static hairs. I don't know why they would be scared of little hair clipping when most of the animations are very clunky and glitchy so the hair would't make it worse.

I have to show this off again.  This hair isn't 100% ready for nexus yet, but it's a damned fine start.  They got rid of the excessive widow's peak.  I'd say it looks a lot like Tallis' ponytail.  The shadows you see around the ear are actually the hair naturally covering it, and the clipping is no worse for this modded hairstyle than it is for the regular ones.  The longer hair for the ponytail doesn't clip into my armor.  Oh and so far, the No Sideburns mod is working for me. TBE tends to make some mods screwy, so hopefully everything should be okay once I get there.  I'm nitpicky, so I'll probably change out of this style once I finish the prologue, but I'm going to use it again for Wicked Hearts:

As I mentioned last night, this is a beta hair mod that someone made.  I don't see why BioWare (I almost called them Blizzard, I am not awake yet,) couldn't take something like this and clean it up.  Besides, I've been reading from the modders that they can't create a custom mesh, only modify existing ones.  If anyone is curious as to what the modding community is up to, the DA:I Tools thread is a great place to lurk.  I wish the devs could take some of the modder's ideas and give us something along those lines.  The majority of the work on the game aside from patches and DLC is done now, so the devs should have some free time.  From what I've seen, the mod authors would be flattered to help and would do it for free.

If anyone is curious to see my causal clothes ideas based on mods, check out the character appearance importance thread.

Now I really need to coffee.  The cry of those first thing in the day: "BRAIIINNNS....NEED COFFEE TO WORK MY BRAINNNNS."

Some people will always be silly, but as long as Bioware doesn't think the problem is solved because 1/5 of the platforms has a fix, I'm happy.

Um, I hope that wasn't directed at me.  If I'm misunderstanding you here, please bare in mind that I'm still not fully awake yet. :)

For anyone that likes to think that way,  I've been the first to say that I think any PC versus console mentality is crap.  Always has been crap, always will be.  Most of us aren't in high school anymore and for those that still are, we shouldn't be acting like it.  I hate the whole stupid "joke" that's gone too damned far.  If anything, I think it's putting yet another unneeded division in the fanbase.

As Artifice and a few others can tell you, I've been pushing for these kind of modded designs to be in the main game for everyone to use.  I've suggested a clothing tinting table (like for armor) several times, because I'm sick of only PC players getting a chance to change these looks.  We all paid our hard-earned money, and I think we all deserve some better options than what we were given.

I put up that mod (and the clothing ones in the other apperance thread) as an example what I think BioWare should do for everyone.  So anyone trying to spout that PC Mustard Race crap can take a hike as far as I'm concerned.  I'm lucky to be able to afford a nice computer and I'm lucky that the mod authors can do what they do.  PC players shouldn't be the only ones out of most of the fanbase to get such an option, and I will continue to request and suggest ideas for the devs so we all can enjoy them.  Mods aren't any sort of solution (although they are nice,) but they are great for ideas to give back to the devs.

All that. I especially don't understand why you can't tint the Skyhold outfit after all this time. The mechanics are already in the game :crying: Even just changing its colour would help a lot. I don't mind the grey pants, but... the beige!

No, I would have never direct it at you.  :) I'm just burned from being a Skyrim player years ago, when I couldn't enter in a forum asking how to resolve a quest/kill something without having the usual pc player basically insult me for playng it on PS3 when I asked for non-mod solutions. (and the solutions where 2/3 "use this mod".)

t4617.gifYeah, those are great ideas. Not out of the realm of possibility or expectation given casual outfits in ME, and appearance packs. But even if they just tell us they have no plans for any new things, just please for the love of Andraste's Herald add tinting/armour toggle. I'm sure they're more than capable of patching that in, easily.

Haha wow, those are... different. Silly Orlais. Yeah, I draw the line at sequins too, I guess :P

I expect to walk out with David Copperfield or someone like that.

I'm so with you on the armor toggle and tinting table.  I was re-reading my post from back in October and I found it amusing that my stances haven't changed at all.

Since this was from pre-launch, I didn't know you'd be purchasing beds and such.  Otherwise, I still feel the same.  Including the Sims reference.  I do love DA:I, but that hasn't changed one bit.

Edit: Okay, that last line?  I'm not mad about it, but I still harbor some hard feelings every time I have to go back to Skyhold without mods.

I just want to point out, tinting was a thing before the game release. There is even an image of a tinted jammie in this article

and, to add insult to injury, there are the gray portraits with the hair model WE NEVER GOT TO USE (just to remind a little) in the next pages to the one with the jammies.

Yeah... that's 7 months ago. Nothing has changed. I never heard about recolouring drapes etc, but even without that, the customization of beds, glass, thrones, banners, and flag-markers etc. goes to show it's even more ridiculous than you thought that you can't recolour clothes. Who even changes the flag-marker? And the stain glass is only in your quarters, so it's even less useful than the beds, and there are like a billion glass options.

The other major thing that irks me is just that adding the armour-tinter was a perfect opportunity to add it for the outfit, but they didn't and didn't say anything about it. Then, the BE was another perfect opportunity for more sorely-needed aesthetic options, and another missed opportunity. Also I guess your comments about romances didn't pan out; everything is in that outfit anyway :wizard:   Yeah, I get annoyed every time I'm there period.

I will apparently never run out of things to say about this topic.

Edit: An addendum: I thought the glass would be the huge section of it behind your throne, that way you would actually see it while walking around and in judgements etc. It's honestly odd it doesn't change that glass.

It can be that hard to make, but it's not as hard as BioWare makes it sound.  I've been watching the modders.  They've just got some minor tweaks left to do.  They just can't create custom meshes like they could in say, Origins.  They have to work with the existing ones and that can get tricky sometimes.  There is a reason I've found only about 1/2 a dozen since launch.  Hair is a big deal on the daitools forums as well as the modding thread here on the BSN.  Don't doubt that.  They are working on it, but this stuff isn't quite as easy as some might think.   ;)

I know modders do this in their free time, and the devs are still pretty busy working on the game.  The patch cycle reflects that to me.  However, I see no reason why they couldn't just ask for permission from the modders to use their creations and clean it up for the game.  For every player to use.  I've seen Valve do it, I've seen Bethesda do it.

I've (happily) watched indy games like the Kirball Space Program and reddit community become so much better from the devs and modders working together.  The game started in early beta for Early Access, and I've seen it come a long way.  They asked permission from the some of the modders to use their stuff for the game, and then they were able to give it to everyone.  Guess how many modders said, "No, give me money?"  If you guessed zero, you would be correct.  The creators that do this aren't looking to get rich.

Also, I'm not saying the DA team should consider every hair or armor mod.  Seriously, I saw one that looked like a 1960s prom queen in one of the hair mod packs I downloaded for Origins.  Then there is stuff like the magician's costume up there, which is, um, probably not the best for the base game.  I'm not knocking on how hard that modder must have worked, so don't get me wrong there.

I know the DA team still plays games, and this game does reflect that.*  However, I wish they would work a little more closely with the modding community.  I've been lurking, and damned if they aren't some of the most enthusiastic about the game on the entire forums.

*Before someone pops out of lurk mode to come down on me, please remember that I don't hate on anyone if they despise the game.  I'm not apologizing for my views though.  I haven't in months, and I never will again.
