Hello.

I couldn't find this information anywhere, so I thought I should ask about it in the official forum. Here it goes:

I've beaten Mass Effect 3 twice now, and both times, I waited until Horizon was completed, so I could get Miranda to join the party at the apartment.

I remember the first time around, I met Jacob in the Silversun Strip and we played an arcade game together. The second time around, this encounter with Jacob never triggered, and I don't know why. (know that I completed all quests and side quests, even before Horizon, in both playthroughs, which means the mission for the ex-cerberus scientists with Jacob was out of the way too).

So I watched a YouTube video yesterday where I saw all encounters in the apartment and at the Silversun Strip. I never triggered all of them in any of the two playthroughs, and I don't know why.

Does anyone know what one has to do in order to have all of the encounters every time we play (or replay) the DLC ? I'm thinking that I should have postponed buying the party items at the bar, but I'm not sure it was that.

Thanks in advance.

I believe EDI, Traynor, Cortez, James, and Liara are automatically invited (I'd have to check this). For everyone else, you have to meet up with them on the Citadel first in the main game.

So for Jacob, after completing the Ex-Cerberus Scientists mission, you then have to meet him at Huerta Memorial Hospital and talk to him.

For Zaeed, you have to complete the Din Korlak mission, then meet and talk with him at the Refugee Camp.

For Kasumi, you have to complete the Hanar Diplomat mission (Jordum/Jontum? Bau; the Salarian Spectre) pre-Shroud mission.

And so on.

So if I don't talk to Javik on the Citadel, I won't be able to meet him?

Thanks, RedCaesar97, but as I said in my original post, everything was out of they way. Not only quests and side quests, but all dialogues and encounters too, prior to starting Horizon. Only then I start the Citadel DLC.

Some encounters are triggered, some are not. Some were never available to me, like the one with Joker... and I don't know why that happens.

I still need to know if there's a way to get all emails/triggers without missing anything, for the next time around.

You don't always need emails. Some do not have emails.

Kasumi's meet-up in the Citadel DLC never has an email; you have to go to the Silversun Casino and then go look at the suspicious device.

For Joker and Wrex, you just have to go to the Silversun Casino, to the bar on the second floor, and you should see a "wait for Joker/Wrex" prompt. Note that you have to meet up with a bunch of other people first. I find these are the last two you can do.

I do not always get emails for Javik's meet-up. Usually I can just go to the end of the Silversun Strip and trigger his meet-up. Same with Garrus at the bar.

1) don't save the mission portion for after Horizon. You can do the mission portion anytime after the coup and save the party for after Horizon. This way meet-ups flow in at a staggered pace. I think right after Rannoch is a good time for some shore leave.

2) I have seen one person save all that stuff for after Horizon and the way he got the meet ups was to exit and reenter the apartment. Each time he went back into the apartment from the strip there would be some new emails.

Jacob, Samara, Zaeed, Jack, only have a meet up if the player talks with them after their related mission is completed.

If you don't talk to Joker, edi, Garrus, Tali, Javik, Samantha, Steve, James, Javik, Ashley/Kaidan and Liara at all during the game they will have no meet up

By doing the mission for Grunt, Miranda and Kasumi, they will have a meet up

Liara, Samantha, Joker, edi, Steve and James will automatically be invited to the party. The rest have to be invited by the player.

That's what I do

I got the Joker prompt at the bar, but Wrex's one didn't follow. I guess I'll have to have better luck next time I play it.

Thanks anyway guys.

Is Wrex alive? Did you go back to your apartment then go back to the bar?

Did you cure or sabotage the genophage?

Yes, yes, I never let anyone die other than the forced death on Virmire (Kaidan or Ashley). It's not my first run in the series, I'll be on my third full run soon.

I'm currently trying to beat Mass Effect 2 on Insanity, and I'm at the last section before the boss. After that I can restart the whole trilogy and once I am over with ME3, I can try Insanity on that one through a NG+.

All members on my main canonical run are always alive. (except, of course, for the forced death on Virmire, plus Legion and Mordin on ME3).

Also, I'm never a renegade, so I cured the genophage. I might had sabotaged it if Mordin could join the party, but he just vanishes, so no point.

And yes, going back to the apartment then leaving it, doesn't make anything new pop up on the map.

Also an interesting thing happened.... I never got the meetin with Miranda, then upon finishing the game with the Destroy option, and hitting "continue" Samantha said "you have a new message at your private terminal" - it was the meeting with Miranda.

Sometimes the game is a bit buggy. The meetings are set up by missions, and if you don't do a mission in between you don't get the meeting.

I would assume the same would happen with any of the endings, but for some reason it just wouldn't feel right.

Hmm... It may take time, but everyone's invitation to go out will appear...

Did you try to do any Armax Arsenal Arena Quest? It can be a way to progress through these encounters.

I have been wondering this too: If I leave the Citadel Dlc to the very end, before Cronos, can I get all the encounters just by wandering around the Strip, getting in and out of the apartment or the Arena.
Normally, I leave the Leviathan and Omega Dlcs to the last, along with the Communication Hub, or the Fuel Reactor etc. -small missions- after the Citadel Dlc so that I can trigger every encounter on the Strip.
I'm not so sure what to do this time.

Yes. This is what I usually do. You just wander in and out of your apartment to unlock the messages at the apartment terminal.

I'm doing it your way this time. Leviathan is done; only mission left is the Omega now. After that I'll go fight with my clone. I find the party most fitting to right after the clone fight.
