I know, I know, it's "Syndicate" now but Victory's so much better.

Anyway, from the company that has decided to bring us at least one AC game per year, and sometimes more, comes the next iteration of the franchise in the form of Assassin's Creed: Victory Syndicate. Syndicate takes place in Victorian London and you'll probably have to assassinate people. That's all we got until tomorrow when it's supposed to be announced officially.

But! We do have a bit of news. Syndicate will allow players to roleplay a female character! According to Kotaku, players will have access to two main characters: Jacob and Evie, brother and sister, who are both part of London's criminal underworld run by the nefarious Moriarty!

I do hope Evie wasn't an afterthought given the backlash Ubisoft got after that stupid unfortunate comment about female characters and animations. I would also like to believe Syndicate will fare better than Unity but if Ubisoft (French) dropped the ball with a game set in Paris, I'm not keeping my hopes up for a game set anywhere else.

Probably not and this one won't work either.

Steampunk? AC? Not likely. If you want Victorian London-like steampunk, your best bet is Dishonored.

Well...she isn't overweight and still shares the spotlight with a male lead. So Ubisoft still has some miles to go before appeasing tumblur

Ack, My mistake I associate the two closely together as Steampunk gets its inspiration from the Victoria era.

I'm afraid I don't know. You could check the Steam forums or, in your case, if you intend to buy a PS4, the Playstation forums.

Tbh duel protagonists (one male one female) is the best way to those kind of morons off your back.

I'm quite looking forward to this one.

I played each game only once, other than ACII and ACIV.

Unity was disappointing, heck DAI gets grumbles about fetch quests and endings, but ACU...

And ACS is set in my home town,

so good times...

No harm done and you do have a valid point. In fact, I wouldn't know how to classify The Order come to think of it. It takes place in Victorian London and certainly does have steampunk elements.

This does seem interesting. Have a good feeling about it despite Ubisoft's dual failure last year.

Hmm... Game Rant is far less optimistic about Evie:

Rumor Suggests New ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Features Playable Female Character

There are a lot of questions remaining that have yet to be answered, and there’s still a chance that this rumor turns out to be nothing more than just that, a rumor.

As long as the graphics aren't THAT demanding, I'll probably pick this up. Victory London here we come!

Although given that it's Ubisoft, I'll wait and see on this one.

Is it still unfortunate if it is true?
