According to the Enemy Database a Gold Cannibal has 2025 HP. About 10 seconds into the game, I can outright kill a Gold Cannibal with this simply by casting Throw at it. The weird part is that in the first 10 seconds of the game it doesn't work. Maybe they had a Marauder buff.
That's 290 direct damage, and 1590 Force, killing a 2025 HP enemy. That seems really high.

It likely depends on where you throw him ![]()
Oh, and spawn DR is the reason why it doesn't die in the first 10 secs.

I threw most of them in the middle of Giant so no holes or anything to fall in
I'll try to Fraps it but last time I tried I crashed. That was in fullscreen mode though maybe window will be better

I've run about a dozen test games now and the only thing I can say for certain is that it is wildly inconsistent. Most Throws will do 5 bars of damage to a Cannibal. Some will do 2, 3, or 10. There was one game where every single Throw did 10, but it was that game that brought this up in the first place, so of course I wasn't recording that.
The first Cannibal is an instant kill. The second Cannibal was 5 bars. The third was down to 2 already so irrelevant. The second regened HP, and the next Throw did 4 bars.
The instant kill didn't even put it off the map, it was dead at the time of impact.
I'm going to chalk this one up to "biovar plz"

The only abilities that convert force into damage is Pull at 15% and Throw at 10%.
There is physics damage dealt whenever a ragdolled enemy collides with something. If I recall right there isn't much to post about that since the damage isn't entirely based on how much force you hit the target with but rather how hard the game thinks the enemy hit the object they collided with.
Which is what makes the damage so inconsistent.

5 bars is the most common result I've seen, and half of 2025 is 1012.5. That means 290 Damage + (1590/10=159) = 449. I guess as long as they hit *something*, 563.5 damage is the most common collision result.
The reason I was looking into this was that I was wondering if I could spec Headshots at Rank 5 Passive and still instant kill husks, without using up a respec card to find out. It looks like that should still be possible. The instant kill Cannibals were an incidental discovery along the way.
Thanks Cyonan ![]()
UPDATE: After my respec I tried again. I noted more instant kills around the center hack, and it seems that if I Throw a Cannibal into a corner, where it can bounce off two walls, it gets collision damage twice, resulting in the "instant kill". So that does indeed explain it.

Yeah, what Cyonan said is what I actually meant. You don't need to throw it off the map to get a kill, but you need to throw it so that the game thinks he hits something with high force.
