Seriously, this game is great guys. No more clunky inventory system, the conversations are great, and i like how you can do a lot more renegade things in sidequests instead of just rejecting them and missing out on points. The AI is a lot better, your squad actually does work, the system on how the new powers and ammo work against armor/shields/barriers is great, you feel like squadmates powers are actually getting something done and they take out a lot more enemies.

The leveling system is efficient and the squadmates differing abilities actually have you switching the members out for different missions. Not to mention the amazing improvement on shepards combat, the cover system is way better and getting headshots is just so much more fun in this game. Flame me all you want for those of you who feel bioware has "lost touch with true RPG fans" or whatever, but you guys dont realize this game was never a full on RPG in the first place. they took out all the dull aspects of the previous game and replaced them with much smoother flowing ones.

My only real gripe is that your decisions from ME1 arent really felt as much as the developers made them out to be early on, but hopefully we'll see a better improvement of this in ME3. 9.5/10, and im gonna say game of the year already, i dont see the tired out old halo system beating this game. Thanks a ton bioware, i got home and played like 12 hours today, so fun.

edit: sorry about the wall of text lol

Apparently because RPG game's are all about loot and not story progression. Atleast that's what i get from most argument's. Haven't played it myself yet though so i'll see, i think it'll be great even though i'm disapointed by the NPC customization.

I approve of the OP's post, he speaks the truth.

The only thing I've felt disappointed about has been the removal of non-cover crouching. :(

It's just the way it is. I can't remember one game no matter how good it was that has not been flamed the first weeks after release. Even Baldurs Gate a game that today is the holy grail of the hardcore RPG fans has been flamed in the forums at release. People have very high expectations and as soon as one little thing does not meet them they come to the forums to voice their disappointment. For most it just takes some time to judge the game more for its strengths rather than its weaknesses or at least be fair and constructive when criticizing.

I have to agree with OP - no complaints here. At least I'm not spending so much time managing my inventory all game.

thanks for all the good feedback guys...i love just going through every single part of every environment, you never know when youre gonna find more creds, ammo, datapads, upgrades, anything. i think this is good enough loot, you dont need a suit of armor from every NPC you kill...

and to you european fans you wont be disappointed. i watched a bunch of the game on JTV and it still feels great to play. im doing a renegade soldier and then im gonna do a paragon vanguard just to see how different everything turns out, its so fun getting the responses from people when ur a dick though, sometimes i feel bad when i dont do the paragon interrupts to save ppl

Great thread, about time someone posted SOMETHING positive on page one. I've loved what I've seen of the game so far playing it before work and can't wait to get home so I can play it some more.

I agree. I find it sad that so many people find it neccessary to completely hate on the game. If you dont like it then shelf it, sell it, burn it, whatever just dont come on and scream like a child just because it didnt meet your golden standard.

No game is perfect, and people just need to accept some of the changes. I know I will enjoy it.

ya ill try to keep the spoilage to a minimum, ill just mention a certain salarian on illium during the thane mission.

but the renegade ones are also great (also a salarian during the thane mission on illium haha)

and cass, im not sure, ive been all over the citadel and didnt see anything, mightve missed it, but i know you can gamble on your ship if you buy some of the engineers parts, you can charm or intimidate them into letting you win. wish they'd bring back pazaac from KOTOR, that game was so fun, like blackjack and pokemon combined haha. i know theres varren (dog) fighting on tuchanka you can bet on, but i think the winners random

Oh I wish I could do that once. I always miss out on that stuff cause I can not ever force myself to be evil, mean or renegade. I'm such sissy...:(

So it doesn't bother you that they've removed a lot of powers from the biotics? Or just have 1 skill and 3 different kinds of ammo really drags the soldier class down? I'm not playing through the game again, the combat is really boring now even with the improvements with cover, headshots and NPC AI. When your spamming one skill, not because it's overpowered, but because it's the only one you have, then something is major wrong with the gameplay.

Constructive criticism =/= the hate and flame posts that come up atm. Nobody is saying the game is 100% perfect.

Definitely agree with the OP. Bioware hit this game out of the ballpark and beyond. I know a lot of people are not going to like the more action-oriented focus, but everyone can see it just fits the universe better. I like the faster pace of the combat, and how even at the high levels you can't just beast your way through every battle.

I absolutely LOVED the cast of characters. There were some I loved, some that were so-so, and a couple I just didn't care about. And that's just amazing. I hope Mass Effect 3 has EVEN MORE companions. Some people think that it was too many characters, and that because there were so many, they couldn't really make them shine, such as the reviewer from 1UP. I would dearly love it if Bioware would just ignore that guy's review. He didn't know what he was talking about, and their game is amazing.

I didn't like how some people were complaining about the planet scanning. I thought it was very well done. Granted, it became boring real quick, but the fact is, you don't need to mine EVERY planet. I upgraded every single gun and ability, and only mined half the planets. I would like to see a way to sell off extra minerals for credits, though.

Fan feedback shaped the second game so much, I hope Bioware doesn't change things too much for ME3. 1 needed the upgrade, and 2 is it! Visual, combat, and story perfection.

honestly as a soldier i never used any powers except for in boss fights...now im actually forced to switch up my ammo types and apply them to different situations, and use adrenaline on the enemies that take cover smartly this time. how is the combat boring, its 10x better? youre just being negative if you think the combats worse, every other dev, reviewer, and player has said thats the biggest improvement in the game. and if youre spamming adrenaline then youre not using your ammo typs right, or you like powers too much and wouldve been better off with pretty much any clas other than the soldier....
