Argh, this still hasn't been fixed. It looks hideous! I cant bring myself to play as a male elf with those inwardly broken anorexic arms/chest. Please fix the rigging issue with this :(

Doubtful. I notice Isaballa, one of the new MP characters has those same broken twigs for arms.

I don't really get the arm thing, at least, not compared to those shoulders. The arms don't really bug me at all. The shoulders/chest? Makes playing an elf unplayable for me.

^^^^ Shoulders/chest/arms......all 3 are crap on male elves. How did this pass QA?

Very easily? QA's job isn't do design character models.

It is a problem with the rigging, not a design choice...so yes QA should have picked it up.

No, it's the model. There's no way to fix the arms without fixing the skeleton, and that requires remodelling the whole thing. It's not QA that does that. They can flag it, but they're fixing the model any more than they're re-coding.

I never said QA fixes things......I meant why didn't they flag it obviously.

I'm sure they did flag it. I mean, they have eyes. It's just that flagging doesn't get you where you want to go - Bioware still has to determine it's worth fixing the issue.

I dunno...maybe they flagged it and it got ignored. I have done some sort of QA in one company (not software or IT of any kind), and it was a job from hell. I was there so in paper they could say they have a QA and prove it with plenty of documents I produced with my name on it. When I tried to point out problems and actual faults, I was the one who got the crap because now someone had to do something about it or find an explanation or a way to look other way or excuse or whatever, and deliveries might even got delayed (they rather took the stuff back from clients after client noticed the mistakes and faults. Of course that was my fault too, because I'm QA and I haven't made enough effort to stop all that happening). It was a miserable job, I was in a loose/loose-situations daily basis.

Obviosly people in suits thought products were perfect when they arrived to me for a check, and somehow they just miraculously got faulty after that just by me looking at them.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the attitude in many companies all over the world. I have noticed people are not so different, no matter place or work or language or how big or small the company is.

Sadly you are probably right. It just astounds me that such a big visual problem on the main character would go unfixed for so long. Totally ruins any connection I have with him because I keep staring at his disgusting chest/arm/shoulder issues. Especially in cut scenes....blegh

Yeah, one of the main reasons I can't bring myself to play as a male elf (other than not being able to romance an elf with them) is the broken body look. I can cover the ridiculously skinny female elf body with most armors, but for the males the arms and chest just look broken. Wish it'd be fixed.

I haven't really noticed the problem in gameplay, more in cutscenes, where his shoulders are hunched forwards and arms melded into his body. My female elf was bugged in a couple of scenes and looked like that, but for the male elf it's every scene. I really hope it's fixed.

He also looks frigging weird in that beige outfit - like his upper torso is convex and his stomach is concave.

As I posted in the other thread, they have acknowledged(December 2nd) the issue. The fact they haven't fixed it in like 6 months just illustrates how incompetent they are.

Or they just don't care enough to fix it... It's not a game breaking issue (for some it's game limiting, but not breaking). Everything works properly, it just looks bad, which is not the same as making the game literally unplayable no matter what you do like a quest bug or a crash would do.

You people are cruel! You can't just mock the Herald's birth defect, that's just insensitive.

I'm not sure if this is the same prolem of which you all are talking about, but I also noticed a "Broken-Arm"-syndrome.

It's like his arm has two elbows.

is my bigger problem with male elf. I love play a male elf, but I always make him wear elven armour or the warden robes because are the only thing that cover the broken arms.

Haven't gotten either armor in my current PT yet, I hope he can wear the Ancient Elven Robes without having broken arms. (when I get it) I could make him wear the Light Armor of the Dragon, but it looks so horrible on a male elf

If they haven't fixed it by now, they're never going to.

you can find the gray warden robes in the fallow mire, where is the crazy apostate. And the schematics are sold by the Dalish, after you have enought favour.
