I'm a bit indecisive about playing favorites, but at the moment it has to be DA:I. Mass effect 1 is a very close second though!
What's your favorite Bioware Game?

Oddly, I gotta kick it old school and say KOTOR...that plot line reversal on Revan make me go out a buy every Bioware game.
Great piece of writing.
(Please don't shoot me.) I was never a Star Wars fan; I just got the game because it had good reviews and bought it for my iPad.
Yes, I bought the BioWare package hook, line and sinker.
KOTOR was my first *blush*, then DA, and finally ME, and being an average idiot consumer, I like them in that order, too.
Really predictive text? Plot Line equals pollen?

Mass Effect 2 is my favorite but Inquisition is a close second. There is something tht is pretty hard to relate to ME 2, it is hard for me to define, but I do love it very very much. Probably has a lot to do with a stellar cast and a great ending. The Suicide Mission I still think is my now third favorite quest or mission in all of gaming history. The Illusive Man was fantastic and you had a really a lot of really good stuff and a full dialog wheel. Just a pretty complete package. Similar to Inquisition though the 'open world' format of Bioware still needs a leeettle work.

Actually just started playing KOTOR.

Mmmm. KOTOR hooked me forever on BioWare!
Careful, it's a gateway drug;)

Now? It's a toss up between DA:II and DA:I, because I'm a sucker for good character development.

It is Dragon Age Origins for me. Female warden of the noble origins, in love with Alistair and making the Ultimate sacriface ... It made me cry so much! ![]()

I've enjoyed Bioware games in general quite a bit, but if I had to choose one, I would say Jade Empire. It is a fairly short game (20-35 hours), but it has a nice (and not so frequently seen) setting, memorable characters and the best Bioware antagonist to date.

I'm always glad to see appreciation for Jade Empire! It had its issues (bloody invisible walls everywhere in combat, argh), but I really liked that they tried something different in terms of gameplay and setting. Also, Sun Li wins my pick of favourite Bioware antagonist, too. It was the only time that they really managed a "personal" connection between hero and villain, and it made all the difference. The whole Open Palm endgame was among the most engaging fun I've ever had in a game, because of that connection and because the Water Dragon and her plight really struck a chord with me.
Picking my absolute favourite is hard, though. BG1 will always hold the special place of essentially being the game that revived my favourite genre. BG2 was just a colossal epic, better and bigger than the first in every way (though Irenicus, popular as he was in the day, left me cold as a villain). KotOR was slow burn for me since I'm not a Star Wars fan and Taris was frankly a bit of a drag, but reaching Dantooine made me a Jedi fan and was where the game got me hook, line and sinker. Jade Empire was an unusual experiment that worked very well for me, though sadly not much of a general commercial success, I think? Origins gripped me with the "doomed hero" theme of the Grey Wardens, more tactical combat like in the "old days", and the fantastic ultimate sacrifice ending. And Inquisition gave me a lot of interesting (if sadly underdeveloped) themes, the utterly phenomenal In Your Heart Shall Burn story arc, and my all-time two favourite characters: Cassandra and especially Cole.

I just finished a full, three-game rerun of Mass Effect (with an Infiltrator this time). One of the most important aspects of ME is that it is long enough (years both in-game and real world) to get attached to the characters. Which is probably why the Citadel DLC was so liked. "Putting the band back together", so to speak.

I never managed to get into ME (maybe I'll try again eventually), but the recurring protagonist and crew are definitely a huge point in that series' favour, one that I'm missing in Dragon Age and its interchangable player characters.

The three-game spanning storyline and recurring characters do wonders for establishing a believable world.
The final lines of Citadel DLC sum it pretty well:

That sounds like a very contented, touching moment that'd be right up my alley, yes. I won't derail this with the reasons why I couldn't get into ME, but I have it sitting on my games drive in case I do want to try again.
