I would never recommend a gaming laptop for a man because of where all the heat goes. I have one, but I don't have the same physical issues. And it's really nice in the winter, almost as good as a cat.
That's funny!
I use a pillow with a really large hard back coffee table book when I use my laptop in the recliner.
Because physical issues.

[...] almost as good as a cat.
Lies!
Unadultured, pure, distilled lies!!!
There's nothing, NOTHING AT ALL, that's better in winter than having a cat on your lap (well okay, maybe having two or more cats is better). Cats are warm, they are fluffy and when you pet them and hear them purr appreciatively, it also warms your metaphysical heart on top of it all. A laptop isn't even close to that level of cute warmth. I know that, because I had been using a laptop for some years and our cat would rightfully try and kick it off my lap and snuggle on there instead.
You go and treat your cats as apology for that infidelity nonsense you said!
Almost as good as a cat, pfft.

In Theory it will do great very well (not sure if 2GB is enough for a 1080p monitor, mine is 900p). Don't know if you can stand the heat when playing Witcher 3 or GTA V on it though.

I'd rather install a toilet in the middle of the living room over playing anything on a laptop or portable device.

You've got that around wrong. Playing games on mobile devices like laptops, tablets, etc. isn't wrong at all. It's the intent to buy a mobile device specifically to play on them that's financially questionable.
My trusty old laptop for example back in the day with its Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 and the Nvidia 8600mGT and it's 2GB RAM for example was frequently used for playing videogames, like Fallout 3, New Vegas, DX:HR, DAO, DAII and all three Mass Effect games and pretty much everything ran smooth, albeit not always with maximum graphics. It held up for five years until the GPU at last fried itself. But I never got it for gaming, I got it for working with it when I started studying.
It took everything I threw at it like a champ, but I also knew better than to try and throw things like Crysis or Battlefield at it, I only started with those games when I later got myself a desktop PC (which is still the same one I'm using right now, also two and a half years old by now).

If you screen is less than 40 inches it's not worth playing on it in my opinion. I did play most of the GBA/DS castlevania games on the tiny screens with cramped controls it was just way beyond annoying, frankly everything is better once removed from portable formates.

I use a 27" for my desktop PC and it's already too big for shooter games IMO.

I had to go to work so I can someday afford a new laptop/PC ![]()
Thanks for all of the replies!
Also, I love cats too.
I am being slightly swayed towards a desktop pc now, but there is a space issue where I live. Also it's not strictly for gaming, as I need a new laptop regardless for work and stuff because mine is almost dead and I need the mobility of a laptop.
My main thought at the beginning was that I need a new laptop, I like to play games on it now and then, might as well pay a little extra to get a good one that can play most games. It will be mostly PC RTS games, I have my Xbone for anything else. I am being slightly moved though, especially as one poster pointed out a decent desktop PC and a laptop together comes to around £900, only slightly more expensive than the laptop I posted on it's own.

Build a Mini-ITX gaming PC. Use a 20 inch monitor for your screen.
That's how one of my friends living in a university dormitory did it and you know how cramped those can get.

Personally since I have my smartphone for mobility, I think I'm going to forget about a gaming laptop and invest in a desktop instead. It's about time I upgraded anyway.

If you don't have business outside there is no need for laptops, unless you want to lengthen your PC's lifespan by using a cheap laptop for downloads and stuff.
