Missing some graphical effects all of a sudden?

Hello,

so I have decided to replay DAO once again (with a mage this time). And immediately noticed one thing: The Fade sequence was missing its characteristic blurry effect (while the green colour filter was intact).

I didn't think much of it at first and continued on. However, I got the same visual problem later on in the Circle Tower quest (non-blurry Fade) and even the Warden's keep (non-blurry flashback scenes with a blue filter).

Does anyone know how can I turn this back on or possibly what's causing this problem?

I've nothing to offer but a request that when you do solve the mystery, please post as to what was causing it... the blurring in the Fade is problematic for some players... I for one love the Fade quests, but can only play there in very short sessions because I get blinding headaches from the visual effects, and so being able to force them off would be a great boon.

I'm not sure, but I think you can disable it unchecking the option "framebuffer effects" in graphics.

Oh wow. I am dumb as a brick.

I thought I had the framebuffer effects already on. Turns out I didn't and that was the culprit. :P

So yeah, theskymoves, there's your answer as well. :)

An OT question, but how did you guys managed to have Mass Effect 1 show up on your games list under the avatar? I have the Steam version, but have no idea where to register it.

Glad that work ;)

You can redeem the serial number of a physical copy in Origin by introducing it in  "Origin->Redeem product code" and it will grant you  a digital copy. It should work with a steam serial number too, I recently bought Dead Space 2 and Alice Madness in Steam and I redeemed both serials and I have them now in Origin as well.

I think it shows up because I did that. You can try it and see if that work.

FYI, for ME users you may end up with two ME1 games in library if you have an older installation (under program files\Electronic arts) and an Origin install (under Program/Files\Origin), the current method.  Only an Origins installation will cause the game to appear in your forum profile.  Also note the Origins install should give you both of the ME1 DLC (although some people have had problems).  The EA download for the DLC BDtS is meant only to a game installed in its original EA directory; the Pinnacle Station DLC appears not to available for the older installation.
