The map is pretty well laid out, there are more than a few good choke points in each zone. I think that this is intended unlike the font room. The ladder to me does seem a little cheesy. But I don't expect that to last long before that gets nerfed.
yeah, that really does make it easier, like fish in a barrel.
Apparently going into the middle of the stairs in zone 4 is popular.

At same time its more time consuming, which makes the whole FC run a pain for Exp farmers.
The map has quickly become a boring hoard fest.
I want that boat in the second treasure room to go somewhere, dammit. I can board it. I know there's another adventure out there.
I jumped in the water at the start point hoping to go for a quick swim before battling things and it just poofed me back on to land.

To be honest, I don't mind. Perilous Castle has so much activity now. You get into a random lobby, and guess what, it has 3 players waiting for you! Amazing. The camping lets everyone participate... with a wide range of gear/skill/promotions. I think this is good a thing. More activity is always better.

Are we talking about the ladders on wave 3 (there's at least one other on wave 2 that can be used, though not as effectively I think)? How would the ladder tactic be nixed? If the ladders got blocked off, the tunnels could still be used (and more effectively, I might add). If the tunnels got blocked off...that's 1/4 - 1/3 of zone 3's playable area. That would be butchering the map, and that just isn't worth it.

I prefer the the archway past the stairs on the left. Assassins may occasionally creep up from behind, but most enemies funnel in through the front, and the path offers good LoS and cover from ranged attacks if poking your head around the corner is too dangerous.

But you can't catch arrows with your face if you're in cover.
Camping the ladder isn't fun for me so I usually go a different way and the PUGs (even on perilous) seem happy enough to follow. Consciously switching up the routes I take helps keep the map interesting, though I'm not xp/promotion grinding so I don't worry too much about the game taking an extra 5 minutes.
The issue I'm having with perilous castle pugs lately is that many of the lobbies are filled with katari, reaver, archer, and assassin. In my experience, the pugs I run with don't survive without a reliable support class and I always end up getting stuck in that role.

The only thing I can think of to nix this would be to add more than one ladder (2 or 3) so that more can come down than one at a time. Or have the archers stand at the top and shoot down at you (maybe even give them the death from above passive if they wish to be really evil).
Honestly, even without the ladders there are plenty of good camping spots in each zone. Its not going to drastically change people's effectiveness. But all in all it was probably intended that way.
