Quests and decisions that have consequences, a properly filled open world, much less pointless harvesting and looting, and much better gameplay. Also CD Projekt Red is giving out Free DLC specifically to divert from the greedy norm, putting Inquisition to shame.

Please don't take people's individual preferences personally here. There are a lot of things the majority of us can agree on!  :)

Also, fair warning, there are spoilers in this thread for the Dragon Age and Witcher franchises so read with caution. If you're contributing to the thread, please use "Spoiler" tags for discussing story elements.

The less Bioware tries to be like CDPR, the better.

Because whatever they set out to do, they end up doing the opposite? I see your logic.  :o

This seems a little premature, I'd say.

Free DLC? You mean like all the MP DLC and the BlackEmporium for example?

Stop comparing the two, you can like both, like neither, or just prefer one more but still play the other. Let it go.

Haven't touched the horrific-looking multiplayer and won't bother with it. Black Emporium should've been there on release, before I'd given up on the game.

Just trying to help Bioware. That's what this section is for.

But going "be more like The Witcher 3" which isn't even out yet isn't exactly helping them

It's out for reviewers and it's pretty obvious how it differs from Inquisition. In a week when it's out, they can worry about the fine-detailing. As for now, just giving a heads up.

Ok? I always take reviewers with a grain of salt nowadays and judge off of what I see

Good plan, as reviewers praised Inquisition for EA's sake when in reality is was a rushed mess.

However, just by the plethora of released footage, it's quite clear it's the direction Bioware needs to be heading. The Witcher series has a long history of decisions mattering.

I'm sad to say OP isn't all that wrong. Fully voiced side quests, decisions that matter, finishing moves reminiscent of dragon age origins, and everything isn't sanitized to hell. The more I see the more I think witcher is becoming closer to origins then DAI is.

I'd rather play in the dragon age world but so little you do in DAI actually matters or changes game to game. I feel like I've seen it all... Which sucks, because replaying origins for the seventh time, I still found things that surprised me. Not so with DAI.

Has anyone released any details on the actual consequences of decisions in this game to be worth mentioning?

No, we've got the witcher to be like the witcher. Dragon age should be like Dragon age, they are two separate things (despite what many people think). I'm not saying DA shouldn't change at all, it still has many things to improve, but bioware shouldn't try to copy other companies, they should keep DA as their own thing.

Maybe you should not have expectations on them, bioware is no longer capable of creating great games IMO

I wouldn't say be more like Witcher 3 at all. As angry as I have been at Bioware for the myriad of issues with DAI both story and mechanics/crashes related...

Why would anyone ever want to have mirrors of game series? The point of it all is to have variety/options of franchises to get behind

I'd say Dragon Age should try to go back to Origins or avoid the current path they are on as far as quest styling. But don't try to mirror Witcher 3.

The free dlc is cosmetic stuff, the real content isn't going to be free.

Dlc costs money because it costs money to make.

And yet Bioware can't even manage that.

Perhaps because they are not interested in cosmetic DLC? They've never done it for previous games

Well unlike the Witcher, DA doesn't have a set character like Geralt

Which could play a factor in why they most likely wouldn't do it

So what? Just because fans are requesting it doesn't mean Bioware is obligated to actually do it

What exactly do these free DLC entail? I get the "cosmetic" part, but does that mean just a few sets of armor? Some different colors? What is it exactly?
