I don't think I'll ever play the Witcher game series. I'm very curious about the novels but they haven't all been translated yet. Also what I've seen in the gameplay doesn't offer any blocking or parrying moves in the swordplay. You'd think they'd finally introduce feinting with all that boasting of AI development. The lead character sounds too much like Clint Eastwood and his appearance is fixed. I'd rather customize my character in any gender or race available. Finally, all those sex scenes are like you're screwing in a Dutch painting. I don't want to screw in a Dutch painting!

The Geralt I'm playing has gotten pretty good @ blocking and countering.

... and as for the OPTIONAL sex scenes, who is forcing you to play them?

"My" Geralt doesn't frequent brothels or hit on every "skirt" he meets ... why would your's?

Only if you want to. You can also send subordinates out to gather crafting resources while you go around doing interesting/important things.

Between enemy drops and only picking up a few materials and here and there while traveling between locations, I never had any resource issues.

It is also optional. One may pick it, pass on it, or purchase desired supplies from possible vendors. Do not get all the criticism for Player's choice, though I am not a fan of harvesting either ; would like an Auto-Harvest feature.

I do enjoy Cole. I liked the awkward and unusual things he did around skyhold.

Have you "rescued the Princess" or hung out around "Ft. White Eagle" in TW3?

Get someone at Bioware to play this game and have said person fight Wraiths, they are the most bullshit enemies in any game ever and enemies like them should never try to be copied! NEVER!

You're doing it wrong ... read the beastiary.

Not exactly. The whole theme behind Witcher 3 is that Witchers aren't really needed anymore, plus they are a dying breed.

Also creating Witchers isn't like recruiting a few grey wardens.

I don't think I can agree that this was TW3's theme. I saw it as more of the theme from TW1 with the Flaming Rose.  In TW3, I've come across more people and soldiers proclaiming they need a Witcher.  I agree that Witchers are a dying breed though but it's due to many different factors moreso than them not being needed anymore.

It seems like Witcher schools don't like putting kids through the Trials. Mostly due to the changing times and people's sensibilities are changing.

The formulae is lost in TW1.

However, I don't think this means Witchers will suddenly go extinct.

Spoilers for the end of TW3

You know, the more I think about it, the more i actually DON'T want a CC for the Witcher series.
The Witcher is supposed to take place in fantasy mediaeval Europe, right? In the Witcher, you see many things: humans, monsters, Witchers, dwarves and the like. What we DON'T see are people of color or other divercities.

If a CC was implemented, then yeah, you could make a male or female Witcher. But they'd be white, and that's it. No Asians, Latinos/as or blacks. I'm black, and even if i couldn't care less about representation in video games (i just wanna play games) it would be wrong to exclude those people.

I mean, sure you could add those options in the CC, but you'd be breaking the lore.

I never had a "resource problem" either.

My complaint is having subs do missions that I should have been doing/playing ...

There's no reason that the head of an organization should be doing busywork.

Not all things involving sex and nudity are optional in the Witcher franchise. Both Witcher 2 and Witcher 3 start out with it.

Well...because Triss and Yennefer are his love interests.

And?

It shows a deep connection between the two?

Besides, in TW3 that didn't even happen. It was all a dream.

No, it doesn't. It shows the two had sex. Sex =/= deep connection between two people.

Doesn't matter. It is still a mandatory part of the game.

And you equate that with "all those sex scenes"?

No. I was just pointing out that not all the sex scenes are optional. There are some you have to sit through in order to play the game. I'm not a fan of that.

So you're saying that i wouldn't have sex with my wife, even if we have a deep connection?

And it does matter. It's mandatory because its showing you how much Geralt cares about the two sorceresses. One he slept with and loved ( before he had his memory restored) and the other he even dreams about.

One of the devs even talked about it. Dont remember the video though.

Isn't that pretty much like Alpha Protocol or the first Deus Ex to some extent?

Also white-only protagonists with limited character customization. Still great games.

I'm saying despite CDPR's views on the matter, the fact that people have sex with each other does not show the two have a deep connection. It just shows those two had sex. Geralt can sleep with literally dozens of women throughout the trilogy. Does that mean he has a deep connection with all of them too? Of course not, because sex does not necessarily mean those involved have a deep connection. There are more effective ways of showing that he has a deep connection with them than sex.

Never played either of those games, sadly.

Yes they are! I'm just saying that it kinda wouldn't be fair.

Medieval Europe did have black people, asian people, latino people, etc though. Granted not many compared to white people, but they did exist.

So you're planning to become celibate then? Because sex is a natural part of life.

Also most people who played Witcher 3 had already played the previous games, hence they know how much the naked woman in Witcher 3 means to Geralt.

Same with Witcher 2. These aren't just random hook-ups he picked up.

Key word is CAN. Not must or does.

You can literally go throughout the games by sleeping with only Triss and Yen.

And yes it is. It's one of the ways. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it wrong.

not in the same way you're thinking of, unless you include Spaniards and the Portuguese in that
