To be fair..
DAI is much friendlier to females and gay men. It offers a lot more for people looking for relations in that regard and interaction. While I do like tw3 that is something they have ((and cc options)).

We're talking about a game here, not real life. If this is seriously a place where people come looking for actual relationships, then I really feel sorry for such individuals.

Perhaps Bioware should drop their failed RPG attempt and instead focus on a dating sim.

At least CD Projekt RED has the balls to make a game that is politically incorrect. And they are profiting HUGELY from it. More sales in 2 weeks than Bioware could dream of in a year.

Assumption: TW3 is popular because it is politically incorrect.

One would seem to need to be aware of this content in some way before purchase, as this was certainly not promoted, at least to not any great degree. Most advertised was the grand vistas, beautifully constructed landscapes, and detailed placeables. And of course, long hair on Geralt. Uncertain if grooming is PC or not, but am gonna go with the latter.

Conclusion: assuming is not recommended.

And if it were true it would not be flattering for the gaming community ;-)

Well, some gaming folks would likely not know what to do with it anyway. :D

How does having many & diverse characters = being politically correct?

By that logic the first 2 witcher games should have sold a lot too.

I'm curious if you dislike the dragon age games. Why play them?

I wouldn't even say that TW3 is "politically incorrect" - it merely makes no effort to be "politically correct" or "socially aware" or whatever the current expression for that may be.

However, the absence of a certain property (in this case, "political correctness") does not automatically mean the presence of whatever property is considered its opposite.

TW3 is actually pretty tame compared to IRL issues anyways, and TW3 did not sell 4 million copies because it pisses off liberals.

I'm gonna say that only bozos would buy the game just because it's "politically incorrect," seeing as when when broken down, "political correctness" is, in reality, just empathy and common courtesy. But far be it from me to stop someone from acting like a ninny on the internet.

I think that CDPR seems like a good developer who is worthy of support, but I've historically not been hugely enamored with TW games, because, especially in the case of the first one, they were terrible and not fun to play, and I emphatically prefer the ability to customize my protagonist whenever applicable.

TW3 has gotten my attention because it really does look pretty fantastic, for all the reasons Elhanan (ostensibly another "hater") lists in his earlier post. I would also applaud CDPR for not letting old gen consoles cripple the development of TW3 as well.

Yes and the reason TW3 is selling is probably because it is fun ;-).

I doubt it was that much effort for Bioware tbh. Most of them were re-skins of the same animal. Where Bioware could take influence from TW3 (and in turn RDR) regarding mounts is the mechanics. Making riding a mount a pleasant enough experience to make it a viable alternative to walking. Bioware would also have to make the areas large enough to justify using your mount. The only maps large enough for that in Inquisition were the Hissing Wastes and maybe the Hinterlands.

Even then people still probably wouldn't use them if you have to choose between your mount and your companions, so Bioware would possibly have to find a way to have your party to ride alongside you if it's something they want to keep for DA4. Personally It wouldn't be a problem for me, I think far too much money goes into the party banter as it is, so I'm just fine with there being a great deal less of it.

I cannot wrap my head around the idea the TW3 mount is better. It's not. Aside from handling worse (if more realistically) it's prone to stopping at every obstacle and insists on actually dealing with height realistically, which is great and all from a verisimilitude POV but a PITA when it comes to actually getting around. I have nothing but hate for mounts in TW3.

I don't know why people keep saying this thing. TW3 makes every effort to be politically correct. The setting is consistent with the crapsack world they're developing but at this point any notion of a lack of "political correctness" is entirely driven by the perception of the players, not content in-game.

Because it has Auto-pilot. Holding down a button and just galloping down the road admiring the beautiful vistas while riding to your destination.

Just like Geralt names every horse "Roach", in my headcanon all of my Skyrim characters named their horses "Mako".

I wish you didn't have to hold the button down like Far Cry 4's auto-drive, but it's a good feature nonetheless. Only problem with adding that feature to DAI is that they clearly added mounts later and there are barely any roads to boot (another complaint of mine...).

Nah. Not failed. Average. Lackluster.

And the difference is that they could have had the next Skyrim on their hands. Not just "make huge profit".

That's "G" on PC in DA:I. In TW3 I have to break my shift key to do it, and that's assuming the horse ever wants to stick to the right route. Not to mention you have to follow roads, which is a huge PITA.

Until the AI veers you in the wrong direction at a fork in the road, or a basket gets in Roach's way and halts progress.

You simply need to keep your eyes open somewhat, and turn when needed. I used the horse for quite a while and never felt too annoyed about it.

The speed it give you is really helpful when crossing big distances, and I even used it on max speed through forests & wilderness with a respectable degree of success.
