You simply need to keep your eyes open somewhat, and turn when needed. I used the horse for quite a while and never felt too annoyed about it.
Oh, I'm not annoyed by it at all. Just a cheeky observation.

I would have paid $5 just for the mirror of transformation. But I'm not buying this one.I agree but EA has always been about profit and they already did the BE for free so it doesn't really surprise me

The speed it give you is really helpful when crossing big distances, and I even used it on max speed through forests & wilderness with a respectable degree of success.
It doesn't matter what speed I use in forests (roads can go F-themselves - I'm not wasting time going around an obstacle when I can power straight through it), because one tree (or the hitbox around the tree) will stop my horse dead.
It's not much of an auto-pilot if I constantly have to go pilot it. My annoyance dips into frustration.
We're talking about a game here, not real life. If this is seriously a place where people come looking for actual relationships, then I really feel sorry for such individuals.
Perhaps Bioware should drop their failed RPG attempt and instead focus on a dating sim.
At least CD Projekt RED has the balls to make a game that is politically incorrect. And they are profiting HUGELY from it. More sales in 2 weeks than Bioware could dream of in a year.
A variety of people play a game for many different reasons, roleplaying elements also include these factors. To deny that outright is silly in itself.
I wouldn't even call the game that incorrect politically. If it were I'd bet it wouldn't get the rating it got. AO games are AO for a reason.
Comparing the two games, I'd say TW series is less pc than Dragon Age Inq, maybe O too.
I cannot wrap my head around the idea the TW3 mount is better. It's not. Aside from handling worse (if more realistically) it's prone to stopping at every obstacle and insists on actually dealing with height realistically, which is great and all from a verisimilitude POV but a PITA when it comes to actually getting around. I have nothing but hate for mounts in TW3.
The only reason I used mounts in DA:I was to safely jump off cliffs ![]()
But yeah I didn't have any problem steering Roach unless it was in a really tight space with junk everywhere, I thought horse riding in TW3 was quite actually fun.
How many people use a controller versus the KBM for TW3? I'm wondering if my hate for the horse springs from the UI.
I like following roads. More immersive. That's "G" on PC in DA:I. In TW3 I have to break my shift key to do it, and that's assuming the horse ever wants to stick to the right route. Not to mention you have to follow roads, which is a huge PITA.
A slight nudge in the right direction or a jump easily overcomes that. Beats needing to guide the horse 99% of the time with auto moveUntil the AI veers you in the wrong direction at a fork in the road, or a basket gets in Roach's way and halts progress.

Yes, that is quite the burden.

I can never see my self playing another Witcher game on KB + M again after 1. I'm glad they have controller schemes for 2 and 3.

Strange as it may sound, I use mount to use the Fast Travel feature in DAI. It preserves guard for all except the rider
Well... you learn something new every day, I guess.
I had no idea this was a thing, because I trashed mounts in favor of banter since basically day 1.
I might be the exception here, but I actually much prefer to play the game with keyboard/mouse, especially when it comes to navigating the inventory.
Definitely, the UI is one of Witcher's 3 Main flaws, especially if using a controller. Its clunky and things like books and notes could easily have been converted into a codex entry after being read.

I do too. Switching dodge from alt to space and it works fine for me.
Keyboard all the way. And my faithful Razor Naga Epic. Ah, all the little, customizable buttons...
This isn't about TW3 or DAI but related.
I just saw a streamer play the Final Fantasy XV Demo update. They stood at that Chocobo Ranch for a bit and suddenly this woman started getting on her boyfriend/husband for not throwing away the veggies after she told him to. No matter what the guy said she didn't want to hear it and it escalated until she slapped him. The poor guy just slumps away and she walks off in the other direction.
I don't know if this was in the game before the update, I watched the same streamer play FFXV before the update and we were all surprised by that scene. It seems like another game is going to put DAI to shame when it comes to creating a living world.
I'm Not saying FF XV won't accomplish What you're saying (and it's Not like it'll be that difficult to beat DAI in this department, in my opinion), but I Think it's too early to say this. Isn't Duscae only a little part of XV's world? This isn't about TW3 or DAI but related.

KBM here too and did not have any particular issues with Roach either. Then again, I was trained by the Mako, so I can handle most transportation modes in games since then. ![]()
I have seen others complain about Roach, but I absolutely love him. I ride him everywhere and never had any trouble. I play on a Xbox One controller, so maybe that makes a difference or maybe because I played tons of Red Dead Redemption and never walked anywhere, so I am used to it. (Similar controls) Either way, I adore Roach.
The only thing I dislike is Roach stopping suddenly before some obstacles and it's very hard to maneuver her on right track or gallop again :/
It's not that she doesn't act like a real horse at those moments, though a real horse (talking from experience here, as I've been horse-riding for more than a decade when I was younger) would also eventually break a leg on some sort of smaller obstacle or maybe if they stepped in a rabbit hole if we galloped at full speed through forests and fields, instead of roads. Horses are more delicate animals than some may assume. And a broken leg for a horse pretty much means animal's death.

I use the controller AND the mouse and keyboard, because the game recognizes both inputs on the fly - another thing Bioware could learn to do.
Controller for movement and fights;
Mouse and keyboard for menus;

A feature I thought was bloody fantastic. More than once I've launched DA:I only for it to tell me a gamepad wasn't connected and to restart the application entirely. I prefer dancing around drowners with the gamepad and I prefer crafting and playing Gwent with the mouse. Both work. Good call, CDPR,

This. A million times this.
Another thing that TW3 did better. Well, almost any other game did better. I'm playing Mirror's Edge, TW3, GTA V and TERA now, and all those games recognizes both keyboard, mouse and controller. I can't understand why we don't have this feature in DA:I. Really...
