What are the shadows like? I'm playing with them on ultra and they're still crappy
I do not have the game, but perhaps another Option setting is creating a conflict with Shadows; seem to recall something similar may have occurred in Skyrim for some.

I've tried everything I could think of, but judging by the number of posts about it when I search witcher 2 shadows. There's no fix.

After a brief glimpse at some old postings, perhaps a possible ini tweak could be of use. NVidia has a guide which may offer suggestions.

Got confused and thought the guy was talking about witcher 2 ![]()
Thanks anyway.
I've always liked Geralt's default do the most tbh. The shaved sides + ponytail is close too, but I never really changed from the default.
I just like watching Geralt's hair flow majestically in the breeze I guess. It seems to have a mind of its own sometimes. :S
lol!! I think I've paid more attention to Geralt's hair blowing than the scenes he's in. It even blows indoors. ![]()
And the shaved sides ponytail is always the one I go for. Geralt just looks so good with it.

With beard =) The drunk barber took my beard though =(. Now I am waiting for the beard to grow out again.
The irony about "diversity" in a BW context is that they're literally all the exact same snarky/empathetic guy/girl mixture that you see in basically every single modern Bioware game, they just give them new labels each time and they use their genitalia slightly differently.
Their straight characters are rarely meaningfully different from their LGBTQPBDSMACE characters (yes I just made that up don't google that).
Finally to add insult to injury the tiniest of differences conform to pretty much everyone's exact stereotypical expectations (Dorian being flamboyant, etc).
Ouch! lol!!
I think that is more of a problem with the DA team than the ME one, but then again with the success of DAI and the fans compliants about certain characters in ME we may not get companions like Kaidan or Ashley anymore. Kaidan is considered boring and Ashley is considered a b**ch. And both are hated for not dropping everything in their lives to follow the PC. Ashley will always be a straight military girl, and Kaidan is a bisexual/homosexual (depends on how you see him) who doesn't sleep with everything that isn't nailed down and is pretty much a laid back guy.
I swear if I ever see another promiscuous Bisexual character again, it will be way too soon.

@Correctamundo, lol!! That drunk barber gave me the wrong cut one time. That guy is a hoot.
@Hazegurl
Well, Kaiden was considered boring long before he was revealed to be bi/homosexual in ME3. (I personally just found him dull to talk to... And I blame Carth Onasi)

Did you make him sacrifice himself?

I know, I mean in general he was considered boring by some fans. I personally loved Kaidan before he and my MShep hooked up, hooking up with him in ME3 was just the icing on the cake and I like the fact that he's not the typical BW bi/homosexual character.
I liked Ashley too but I've never had a play through where she didn't have a date with a bomb.
Also, I don't Think the VS Are hated because they didn't drop everything in their lives to follow Shep. Wrex and Liara didn't follow Shep in ME2 either.
I remember the ME forum having a big stink about the argument between Kaidan/Ashley and Shepard. Quite a few people just didn't like that they choose to have their own opinion about Cerberus and Shepard working for them. Wrex and Liara may not have followed Shep, but overall they were portrayed as being accepting.

I think the story actually works better with him being sacrificed. On Virmire, it just makes more sense that he'd be the one to man the bomb, and not returning to the bomb site to evacuate just seems to make for a better conclusion to the mission. Aside from that, I think that the rest of the trilogy runs a little better with Ashley as well. Of the two, Kaiden is supposed to be the level-headed one, but he suffers from substitute character overlap so that he complains about Cerberus as much as a surviving Ashley does, but I find it more believable with a more hotheaded soldier like Williams.

I actually think the story works better when Ash dies. Kaidan is more qualified to operate the bomb and I can't see Saren falling for a distraction team. So I leave Kaidan with the bomb then go back for him to fight Saren there. Kaidan is level headed but that doesn't mean he'll just roll over and accept Shep working for a terrorist organization. I also buy him being chosen as a Spectre moreso than Ash, he leads his own biotic division. But this is why I love ME, I've read so many different perspectives on these characters, along with the Geth/Quarian and Genophage choices. The games seems to give players a bit more to work with to draw their own conclusions. It would be nice if the DA series could at least do that.
Fair enough.
Though from What I recall during ME3 development Kaidan was fairly popular (more then Ashley) so While Horizon might've Made some/a lot of people dislike them, I don't think it's the only reason for their popularity compared to other squadmates.
I think Kaidan is more popular than Ash but both of them are at the bottom compared to the others. Perhaps Jacob is the most hated? ![]()
I would prefer developers have to go to extra lengths to prevent mods rather than to permit them.Frostbite is an engine used for some games, i doubt that they can simply release a toolkit without caring of the fact that this may influence games made by other developers.
I wanted to throw her out the airlock as soon as I met her. I hated that I had to accept her as a member of the crew.@Kantr

I tend to agree that the best objective, tactical decision is to protect the bomb. I think there is an arguement that an officer would have training and skill sets an NCO might not that would make them the logical choice to liase with a friendly unit in an operation. I can also see it being more likely an officer (and isn't Kaiden on the N7 track, just lower down?) would have the skill set to deal with the bomb.

Ashley a best.
This. The zones were overall too quiet and I feel the soundtrack was very underused. It's such a shame, because the soundtrack is really good.
The soundtrack was underused thanks to the terrible pacing of the game/story. You're not actually doing anything if you're chasing down shards or collecting elfroot for the sick lady, thus the music has no reason to play. Most of the tracks in the OST were composed in a way such that each chapter in the main quest (primarily) has one and that's about it.
Again, I think it's a design issue, which seems to be the culprit behind like 90% of the problems with this game.

We never "collect elfroot for sick lady". Shards are entirely optional and definitely not the main objective in any zone other than Forbidden Oasis (again - optional).

That's beside the point. The majority of the game is composed of similarly lame fetch quests irrelevant to the main quest, which is the only portion of the game where the best tracks kick in.

Exactly. See above.
