Has anyone done the wolf armour treasure hunt in Witcher 3 yet?

Spoiler

Done it already, there is also a following quest I the bastion about a witcher trainee's story. It also shows you Witcher has been the victim of witch hunt long before mages. If you have finished TW1, then the tomb of Leo could also be found near Kaer Morhen.

Interesting, they all share similar themes like greedy, betrayal etc. as well. Pretty great discussion inspired by a "side quest" I recon. This is how the proper quest design should be in a awesome RPG.

Well, it's not really that surprising that they share similar themes if you consider what mouses symbolize in majority of European cultures - they're small, poor and insignificant. Like peasants and commoners, really. And a rich, greedy bastard therefore has to face the irony of being consumed by them.

Huh, so you found the codex... *cough* the LIST you said?

Well it DOES ruin my design :(

I prefer to see Geralt clean-shaven or with a stubble, but the game just randomly decides to turn him into Papa Christmas, even if I visited the barber just a day before >_< That beard must be possessed!

Are you playing with Hairworks enabled? If so, there's a bug where it skips most of the beard stages and goes straight to full grown. So you only get clean>stubble>full grown.

I have a decent PC (GTX 780, I7-2600k, 8gb RAM) and I can have hairworks enabled and still maintain a steady 50-60fps, with everything on ultra besides shadows, number of npcs and distant foliage, they're on high.

I suggest you change hairworksAAlevel from 8 to 2, increased FPS, no visible reduction in quality.

Thank you :) I'll try it eventually - it's not like the drop is constant; it usually happens when camera lands right behind Geralt's head, and at some instances in some cutscenes.

For the record: GTX 760, i7-4790, 16 GB ram - everything is on ultra so far.

I did. Great quest with lots of lore. Not only were there codex to read, but they show you snippets of past conversations that let you see and hear how it was like for the young witchers.

Really, a lot of games can learn from that. Reading codex is great, but I love how CDPR went beyond that. It was well done. :)

I loved the Wolf gear treasure hunt because it made Kaer Morhen seem a lot less empty. Not sure if some of the stuff was there before or added by the free DLC, but it was really cool taking a tour around the place.

Hell, even found this.

Sorry, but where have I said that TW3 didn't have codex/list/letters? The difference is how they are handled, as with other things TW3 did much better than DAI, in my opinion anyway YMMV.

If I recall I'm the one that qq'd the most about codex's but in fairness I also admitted that I rushed in DAI. I was so concerned about chest scumming and getting 'that perfect set of armor/weapon schematics" for looks that the res tof the game kind of went by me.

Well, I think the bulk of the complaint-- and trust me, your voice was one of many-- that so much was included in codex when a lot of it could have been shown in other ways. I feel, as do others, that they incorporated too much along the lines of telling, not showing.

Either way, Amber posed a genuine question and gets snark thrown. Uncalled for. Some people can't stand anything positive being said about something they dislike. It's a shame.

On a different note: one thing DAI got right was not having craft items take up inventory weight. TW3 needs to follow that. The majority of my weight is crafting items. Or at least place the storage chests back at the Inns.

DAI had crafting with a good system. It was truly only limited by RNG determining your end schematic count as you still couldn't just 'farm' gold so to speak unless I'm really behind on the times which I suspect I may be. Black Emporium came out with 'buying' schematics which is good, but I know that they are super expensive and unaffected by inquisition perks.

Hah, I can agree with that. At the game's climax, my crafting section of inventory was a pure horror.

Though, I think someone (was it the head of the czech localization of the game?) confirmed on twitter that next update should bring a storage chest.

For real. :)

What is uncalled for is making my comment sound like a threat or treating me with comments the like of "some people can't stand saying anything positive about something they dislike", especially that I've been in this comment thread ever since its inception and have stated and proven more than once that I play and LIKE the Witcher.

And please -  don't make it now look as if I'm "taking things personally" again when I am simply asking to not warp my comments into something they're not.

I was also hardly snarky - it was a simple, albeit rhetorical, question, made simply because of how often I see written portions of the game being readily discredited, up to a point where people argued how "Witcher doesn't have as much reading material as DAI" or confusing "showing/telling" again, despite the fact that TW3 has oodles of written material to read (and it's NOT a bad thing), including probably 35-50% of quests there (that require reading a letter, a book or else).

Lol, no need to explain yourself of why you liked the comment - what I'm asking simply is not making look as if I'm here to spoil the fun or something. We have our disagreements and I DO have a tendency to write long-winded comments and I CAN be snarky at times, but I'm always willing to discuss things, explain why I think the way I do and generally keep things civil and relatively light  :)

Why are you explaining yourself? There isn't any need to.

Also, as a general question: Has anyone seen a mermaid yet? I have seen a few whales, but I sailed everywhere I could to see if a mermaid popped up and she seems to be elusive. I really want to see one.

Hiding in spoiler as its not appropriate to have it out in the open like I had previously.

Anyway, haven't seen a mermaid yet. Are there any dryads in witcher 3 like in prior games?

I haven't seen any. I don't recall seeing anyone mention finding any dryads, but I would love to have them in the game.

That's how I approach situations too. I only kill what is dangerous. I believe Geralt mentions something about not liking to kill sentient monsters.

Bioware are too big to ever create a game like witcher again, held back by red tape and trying to please everyone and their dog. The reason why Witcher's atmosphere is so brilliant is its not just black and white, it actually shows you war, rape torture and racism instead of telling you about it. You sympathise with the characters and the shitty lifes villagers lead. You would never have a questline with the baron in a modern dragon age game, i mean there was that quest in inquisition champions of the just, an envy demon posing as Leliana that attempted to seduce the inquisitor was removed because it was "sexual violation of leliana by proxy..." actually sounds like what a envy/lust DEMON would do. Instead of thinking about awesome quests to write in a GAME the writers are constantly worried about how not to insult that group or how to please this group, political correctness gone mad. I dont want that in what is supposed to be a mature video game.
