I was lucky to read that on an early loading screen. Still forgot it often enough in all the excitement. :D

snip....

Even with killing all the dragons, you still don't have enough materials to craft armor and weapons for all of your followers. That is poor design, imo. It's an open world game and it lasts for hours upon hours. Through the game, you should be able to collect enough to outfit your entire team with the best armor and weapons. Do you have to? Is it required? No. But it should be a stable in a rpg that gives you a crew that you can customize armor and weapons for. That is the crux of the issue. If a player wants to fully implement the crafting system, they are handicapped. Gathering in DAI is tedious and way too grindy. Also, higher level schematics aren't available in the DLC. I went there and saw those armor schematics and spent all my freaking money on them. I thought, "It's a dlc, so surely this armor is going to be kickass. Only to craft it -wasting materials, I might add-- to find out that the armor I am wearing is SO much better. That is another issue I have with DAI. You can't see armor when browsing schematics in store.

EDIT: Dear forum, I am sorry this reply is a 100 pages long.  Please feel free to walk on by.

You should be able to get schematics for tier 4 Refined Prowler armor, Battlemage and Battlemaster armor as drops when you clear the Fade Rifts in the Jaws of Hakkon. These are all superior to anything available in the vanilla game. There are schematics available in the village and off specific bosses which are more unique and more for appearance. I never had a problem with getting enough dragon bone, webbing and scales in DAI. I do only tend to craft 4 or 5 sets of armour and switch them around as I change squad members. I'm sorry if you are having problems.

Yeah, I can promise you that I have had no luck with the rng in DAI. It's been an awful experience, tbh. It's been a long time since I have played JoH, so I can't remember the stats, but I am pretty sure the armor that I had stat wise was much better than any I obtained in JoH.

In any case, I appreciate your polite reply.

Now that I've beaten TW3 and I'm reayd to play a different route, I can say why I haven't picked up DAI since I started.

There's a lot of good examples, but I'm thinking back to a quest in white orchard - it's just a side quest from the bounty board, but there was a farmer whose brother had fought against nilfgaard in a battle and hadn't returned. Now, if DAI had done this quest, I would have run across the hinterlands (or wherever) and found the character alive or dead (probably after fighting off a few rift demons), there would have been some brief dialogue and I would have gotten +2 power.

What I got instead was a trip alongside the farmer and his brother's dog to a huge battlefield field with the corpses of both sides. We went from body to body looking for a shield with certain markings while fending off the occasional ghouls, there was quite a bit of dialogue, and we finally found his trail. I don't want to spoil what happened next, but I got to weigh in on a situation and I had an actual choice to make with consequences.

The difference is I rarely have a reason to replay a DAi sidequest, most will be the same everytime I do... but I want to replay this one to see what the other choice leads to. Most of TW3 is like that, it's the feeling origins gave me, and the feeling that's so absent in inquisition.

She looks really good. I never really liked her though, Triss was always my woman. I wonder if she'll be available for a romance option? That would make a lot of people happy.

The way she acted towards me for not choosing her was so juvenile that I'm afraid my bias will carry into tw2 :/

Same for shani, the writing of those two characters was flimsy in the game.

It probably helps that I played TW2 before TW1, so I already liked Triss a lot.

I am trying to stick with Yenn in this next playthrough, but I am pretty weak. Hopefully I can resist Triss.

I admit i'm a Yen guy (it just feels right having read the books) but that goodbye scene with Triss was heartbreaking. Seriously had me contemplating reloading and changing my decision. Looks like i'll have to do a Geralt and Triss playthrough next time.

That's master version of wolf school armor, which should be similar to lambert'a armor. P.S. lambert's armor is from Witcher 2

I have that quest too bad it takes such a long time to go to Kaer Morhen

Given CDPR's comments of more Triss romance and other content which is not originally planned, I suspect a EE is coming for TW3 properly before those two expansion packs.

We should have more Yen romance. To be honest it does feel like the devs are biased towards Triss.

On another note, her VA annoys me to no end.

I really loved triss in 2, but she is butchered in 3 man i hate it, voice actress performed worse, her romance is shite and the clothes...either terrible hair with good outfit or good hair with terrible outfit. Feel like your pushed to yennefer. Edit: Bias towards triss  her arc was so bad i pretty much had to to choose yennefer, i dont particularily like her either.

A hint: press jump button, just before landing, when you're falling. Geralt will roll, and not take any damage (unless you jump from really high places).

I'm not sure why they don't mention that in Kear Morhen tutorial, a lot of people encounter this problem.

They should have kept the climbing down movement from W2

Huh? Triss's VA improved immeasurably between TW2 & TW3. She was really bad in 2, so much so that it was near unbearable, but she's actually pretty good this time around. The voice acting in general was pretty hit-and-miss in TW2, whereas it's great across-the-board in TW3.

It's pretty obvious she's "the nice one" and Yen is "the bitchy one". That's the first reason most people bring up when it comes to choosing.

It just sounds really try hard to me. Like she's trying so hard to sound cool. Ugh I just got out of the game and talking to her so I'm very annoyed right now lol

She sounds the best in W1. She sounded mature, now she kinda sounds like an annoying teenager.

You think so? Christ her laugh and drunken voice, Wanted to stab my ears. Maybe its being used to 2's. But she was noticeably different, though it is subjectively bad. Despite a lot of **** happening to her in 6 months two shes happier and outgoing, she was chill in two.

Triss in TW1 is basically a copy of Yenna (personality etc.) and I don't think Shani will be a proper romance option for Geralt, it is like a one night thing in books anyway. Essi might mean much more for Geralt but she is with the jester now. Hence, the more appropriate competitor will be Fringilla who is as capable as Yenna. (sry, Triss is simply not in that league)

This is true. I have jumped off really high things and rolled to my feet, unharmed.

The fall damage calculation is in need of some... minor calibrations.

I climbed UP onto a ledge and somehow dropped dead from fall damage once. I was laughing too hard in stunned disbelief to be mad.

I haven't had any issue with it, but if some people are having trouble-- and it seems that they are-- I agree that they should tweak it to make it more utilized. I can certainly understand the frustration of dying after falling once.
