I'm overwhelmingly in his corner with regards to DAI. I love the game.
But abruptly (and cheerfully, not even apologetically) dropping old gen support without offering any sort of fig leaf to those players is bad. Exploitative DLC is bad. This goddamn MP focus (when the MP is garbage, unlike ME3) is bad. And locking satisfying SP content behind MP participation is bad.
They've made some mistakes, here. I love Bioware to an embarrassing degree, but I'm still quite happy to criticize them when they screw up. They're screwing up.
There is nothing wrong with loving Bioware, even at an embarrassing level. I like Bioware a lot. I used to love them, but the disappointment has made me weary. The problem with some people(not talking about who, but I am sure you can guess) is that they see others who don't love Bioware as much as they do as a threat. They see adoring other gaming companies as a traitorous act that needs to be stamped out with post after post.
I believe thoughts like that come from a very insecure place. A realization that something they love may have faults and people pointing out those faults makes it harder to be blind to them.
Personally, I think you can see something's faults and still love it, still want it to improve so that it will continue to grow and exist.
However, I will say this latest dlc thing is a real turd in the punch bowl. I don't blame old gen users for being irate. I am a little irate for them. It's dirty pool.
