The sex cards were a reason I skipped Witcher 1. SJW wasn't even a thing people use to dismiss arguments without even thinking about them like they are now.

The sex cards were crass and an embarrassment and there is a reason CD didn't include them after the first game.

I'm a woman and I wasn't offended by the sex cards. I didn't collect them because my Geralt was faithful to Triss then lol

And no pity for the baron for his cheating abusive wife? Seriously its a double edge sword. Both are dipsticks imho.

It'd be nice if there was an option at the end of the quest to be like "mmmk, both of you suck, so i'm going to leave both of you tied to a tree in the swamp, thxkbye".

The wife is worse as far as I'm concerned.

They were both bad.

She tried to abandon him with and take their daughter with her but that's no excuse for him to be abusive either, and in front of their daughter too.

And what were the order of events? Was she beaten and abused and living a life of loneliness with her alcoholic husband, with no other option than to take her daughter and run away in the middle of a war-torn land populated by monsters that can kill them? Would she really have been able to ask for a divorce in this setting?

The daughter collaborates that she laid witness to a horrible life for her mother.

From what I've seen, I thought so too. But we don't ever go there, right? :-p

She also cheated on him, attacked him and tried to kill him. And she killed their child.

She cheated on him while he was away at war. He came back and killed the guy she was with. She tried to kill him. He hit her. Then from there its a pattern of her winding him up, attempting to kill him and herself and him lashing out.

I take back my wife was worse comment actually, they are both as bad as eachother.

SJW never changes, I still remember the shite storm when TW2 released. And how the sex cards in TW1 used as perfect example for their agendas. Luckily there weren't gamergate then. Witcher series is always the faveourite target for those so call 3rd wave feminists.

And those are destroying gaming for all of us who prefer a realistic approach of those topics, especially when it comes with games that have an universe based on medieval times.

Thanks for that, now we have the Qun embracing transgender people. Now, before someone get their panties in a twist, I have nothing against transgender people, I hate the retcon.

He was a drunk abuser who beat her up in front of their daughter. Of course she didn't want to have his child.

Anyway, to me they were both equally bad.

Retcon is Bioware's middle name.

And what was his behavior like before he even left for war? Already an alcoholic? And who is the storyteller for this sequence?

What's the point you're trying to make anyway?

Isn't that obvious? The wife is a victimand so all her actions are justified.

The point is, a lot of this tale is revealed from the Barons POV while Anna is not in a position to defend herself or even have a voice.

Are you high? Tarmara's voice is not ruling for her mother? And what about pellar's voice and three crones' voices? Have YOU hear them?

I think people here are also quick to dismiss the psychological impact of being a battered woman or anyone who has been in a relationship with an alcoholic. This also wasn't a time period where there were battered women's shelters or even anywhere Anna could go for help. Where could she go? One of the Barons own men? What really would her options be outside living a life of permanent misery?

No, having other people speak for her is not the same as having her speak herself.

Ok, let's do it your way. Let's say Anna is the helpless victim. Her husband screwed her over completely. What about it? How becoming self aware of this changes anything?

From what little I've seen was the beating happened after the baron killed her lover and she tried to kill him. I might be misremembering it though.
