Hey I have no sympathy for the lodge, granted I only played tw1 so far and saw a lot of 3 and spoiled 2 for myself.. From what I heard about what the Lodge tried to do in the books with a certain character, lets just say I care not for them.

But all mages? What would he do to Yenn if he had a chance? Bah. Screw him.

Also, the lodge did plan and carry out the assination of a king in 2. So there is always that. Keep in mind that magic and the sort are generally distrusted in The Witcher universe. So the lodge existance to begin with and them plotting regicide was pretty much insane and would lead to disater.

But the problem is those beach in the lodge has so much power and influence in the real world, which makes them extremely dangerous. Other magic practices are simply scapegoat between the political struggle of the lodge and monarchs. that's also why Yenna is such s great mother, in order to protect Ciri she defy the lodge take matter into her own hand.

They ignore Geralt, what they want is Ciri, whose child will conquer the world!

Yeah, the music while exploring Skellige is perfect for the scenery. My favorite track is on the island of Spikerogg.

I can't speak for the music, as I can't hear it, but the scenery in Skellige is amazing. I love how there are areas around some islands that have dense fog and everything is so still. It's really lovely and creepy at the same time. I love how the sea reacts to the weather. If it's a beautiful day, the water is quite calm. If it's a particularly windy or storming, the sea gets really turbulent. I also love the whales breaching. Sometimes they pop up really close to your boat and it can be startling when you're not expecting it. The landscape is truly wild and formidable. It's a really great place.

For Queen Yenna!

“Ensure that I posthumously gain back my reputation and good name. I will no longer be held for a traitor or an accomplice of Vilgefortz. I ask this of the Lodge. I ask this of you, personally.”

Philippa was silent for a moment.

“I deny your request,” she said finally.

“I'm sorry, but your exoneration is not in the interest of the Lodge. If you die, you die a traitor. You'll be a traitor and criminal to Ciri, because then it will be easier to manipulate the girl.”

“Before you do something that could be fatal,” Triss said suddenly,

“leave something behind for us…”

“A will?”

“Something that allows us to… continue. To find Ciri. Because we are primarily concerned for her health! For her life! Yennefer, Dijkstra has found some traces of… some traces of certain activities have been found. If Vilgefortz does have Ciri, then the girl faces a horrible death.”

“Be quiet, Triss,” Philippa Eilhart hissed sharply.

“We are not trading or bargaining.”

“I will leave you the information,” Yennefer said slowly.

“I'll leave you the information on what I've found and what I plan. I’ll leave a trail you can follow to her. But not in vain. If you will not facilitate my exoneration in the eyes of the world, then to hell with you and with the world. But at least grant me exoneration in the eyes of the witcher.”

“No,” Philippa denied the request almost instantly.

“That is also not in the interest of the Lodge. You will also remain a traitor and a mercenary sorceress to your witcher. It is not in the interest of the Lodge for him to furiously attempt to avenge you. If he despises you, he will not attempt to take revenge. By the way, he's probably already dead or will die any day now.”

“The information,” Yennefer said dully,

“for his life. Save him, Philippa.”

“No, Yennefer.”

“Because it's not in the interest of the Lodge.”
A purple fire kindled in the sorceress’ eyes.

“Did you hear that Triss? There, you have your Lodge. You see their true colors, their true interests. And what do you think of them? You were a mentor to the girl, almost – as you put it – a big sister. And Geralt…”

“Do not attack Triss’ relationships, Yennefer.”
Philippa retaliated with her own fire in her eyes.

“We will find and rescue the girl without your help. And if you succeed, that's fine, a thousand thanks, because you will have saved us the trouble. You tear the girl out of the hands of Vilgefortz and we will be happy. And Geralt? Who cares about Geralt?”

“Did you hear that, Triss?”

“Forgive me,” said Triss Merigold dully. “Forgive me, Yennefer.”

“Oh, no, Triss. Never.”

After all a so called" bigsister" is not a mother. Mother's love is selfless, brave and even fierce if it needs to be.  Yenna's suffering and torture for Ciri are all results from certain "friends" of Geralt.

The best part has not even come yet. :P

"

“So be it,” Philippa Eilhart waved her hand. “Sit, both of you. But know that I am against it. But the unity of the Lodge and its interests are most important. The Lodge is everything, the rest is nothing. I hope you understand, Ciri?”

“Perfectly,” Ciri said, not looking away from her gaze. “Especially since I am supposed to be the nothing.”

The beautiful queen of the elves, Francesca Findabair laughed.

“Congratulations, Yennefer,” she said in her hypnotically deep and melodious voice. “I noticed you left your mark. This is gold. I recognise the school.”

“It’s easy to recognise,” Yennefer looked around with fiery eyes, “because it is the school of Tissaia de Vries.”

...

Lady Owl said covering the smile on the corner of her lips. “Cirilla Eilhart also sounds nice.”

“That name,” the hall rang with the silvery voice of the elven queen, “is pretty in any combination. And each of us here would love to have a daughter like you, Zireael, Swallow with the eyes of a hawk. You are the body and the blood of Lara Dorren. Each of us would give everything, even this Lodge and the fate of the kingdoms around the world, to have such a daughter. However, it is impossible. We know that it is impossible. So we envy Yennefer.”

“Thank you, Lady Philippa,” Ciri said after a few moments, squeezing the head of the sphinxes in her hands. “I also feel honoured with the proposal to take the surname de Tancarville. However, it seems to me that my new last name is the only thing that I can choose for myself, I thank the two mistresses. But I want to be called Cirilla of Vengerberg, daughter of Yennefer.

That should settle it. Great game #TeamTriss, unfortunately we are just not in the same league. :P

Although I favor Yennefer I very much love Triss, to the point where it was immensely hard for me to chose between both.

Btw, does Triss mention the fact that you chose to save her in Loc Muinne ?

Im honestly don't know, Triss is always a one night thing for my Geralt, and Broche needed my help then.

True but what I love about saving Triss is that, well first of all my Geralt simply wouldn't let a dear friend of his to rot in a dungeon. The other thing I love is that the player is later showed that Broche succeeded to save Anais on his own, telling us that this character didn't necessarily need us to succeed. He didn't do as well, that's logical, but I really enjoyed seeing Broche do things without the need of Geralt. A true badass.

A very good tribute for politcs in TW series. TW2 is still an amazing game with most realistic political depth in gaming.

Phillipa murdered his father what would except his attitude towards the lodge? The witch hunt is perfect opportunity for a young king to consolidate his power and wealth. Nothing would be more useful than zealous mobs to do one's betting.

Going after the lodge makes sense, going after every Mage and then non-humans is stupid. The north won the first war because of the mages on sodden hill and they won the second war in part thanks to the dwarves man-moding Nilfgaard at Brenna. Radio vid isolated both of these groups. Not to mention that it required all of the northern kingdoms to band together, in the witcher 3 half if them have already fallen.

The fact he ends up winning if you don't kill him is miraculous.

Yup Radovid the retarded is basically Ramsay Bolton in TW3, if you choose not to end him. He and 20 good man will flay/burn the wild hunt easily.

Ugh, don't remind me of that. The Stannimal became the worst military commander in Westeros just to accommodate HBO's love for Ramsey.

For Queen Yenna!

snip

Seems to me Triss is working for the greater good there. Yen and Geralt want to save Ciri so she can be a Witcher and die neck deep in sewage some years later. The lodge wanted to make her Queen of the richest country on the continent, also it would have stopped those bloody black ones taking Cintra during the negotiations.

Should have let Dijkstra have her at Thenedd, would have stopped those Cintran soldiers deserting. Or let Skellen kill her so that Nilfgaard would have been a democracy.

Ciri, Geralt and Yennefer and the real villains of the series. RIP Skellen sweet prince.
