You prefer a black screen?
Dandelion is just telling in which part of the story you are WHILE the game is loading.
No, he recaps, then the loading starts. An option to skip would be much appreciated by a solid 99% of the people who play the game. They're cool at first, but when you have to watch the same recaps every, f*cking. time. you fast-travel or load an other save, well... to say they wear out their welcome is a colossal understatement.

Credit should also be given to CDP the publisher and parent company that owns CDPR. There is an article on Forbes pointing out that a game like TW3 can only be produced when the Publisher (CDP) gives the developer (CDPR) the freedom to create a game that they really want to make instead of meddling in the creative process.
I agree with that article. I believe that if CDP only cares about money and dont give a damn about the games they make, they will force CDPR to add pathetic features and unrealistic timeline and budget just to milk players and maximize profit - TW3 will turn out to be a disaster.
I would argue they do impose unrealistic deadlines. 3 Years was what they wanted for TW3 and it wasn't nearly enough. That puts a lot of stress on the team, and is likely why they lost lead writers and programmers mid development. It's actually the one thing I've long felt they need to reassess.

You can skip it by pressing a key. However, how fast you can skip it depends on how fast your system loads the game. If you have an SSD, you can usually skip it before Dandelion finishes his first sentence

It doesn't happen to me when I fast-travel.
And yes, while he is talking the game is loading. Such is the case that when he finishes, the loading screen changes and the loading bar is almost full

Perhaps but it is amazing how well TW3 turned out. I think developers would be more focus and dedicated when they are actually doing something they believe in. Maybe the deadline is a bit harsh but I think as long as the publishers dont meddle in the development process demanding some "milking feature" to be included, it aint all that bad. As a matter of fact, most IT projects have "unrealistic deadlines".
Unrealistic deadline alone I think developers can deal with. Unrealistic deadline + publishers demanding tons of milking features to be implemented or planted in the code... that is a different story.

Yeah. Hope I would have finish the game before October; 1st expansion. 170+ hours in and I am still walking (yes walking) around the map exploring. Stopped advancing the main quest at Isle of Mist.
Grr, just dont have enough time to play this game and I cannot bring myself to rush it. And I spend too much time playing Gwent... man that mini game is too freaking addictive.

You could say this for half the threads in this forum, the Spoilers forum and the No Spoilers forum. Fact is, a majority of the people posting here are doing so in a civil manner and aren't bothering anyone. Most of the posts are in conjunction with the topic. If people are tired of seeing it or felt the discussion has run it's course for them, they most certainly can ignore it and carry on reading threads they find pertinent.

Well on the one hand I think the points made in the thread have been made adequately, though if the OP wants to compile a list on the first post through editing the original start that could help. But on the other I think the number of pages also says to BioWare how much people would like them to take more care with how certain aspects of the game fell short. i.e. druffalo escorting and such.
Look a the CDPR response to the lack of Triss content. They said it was brought to their attention that they fell short in the Triss story because the thread on their forums reached 800 pages and because of that they went back internally and reviewed if there was indeed inconsistency they missed in development. Now they are revising the content a little because it had such a large response.
You aren't wrong however, the random little insults that pop up in the thread aren't helping.

The let you mine for rocks and find 50 copies of varrick's book. Isn't that fun? The developers are sure it's fun.
It wasn't fun.
Gwent though is weirdly addicting, like holy ****, and the fist fights are pretty satisfying.

Yet that fetch quest included a cinematic conversation, a segment where you had to search for clues and then have the quest end with a twist with an interesting backstory.
Now compare that to the fetch quest in Emprise du Lion.
You see a random NPC talking to herself about a ring that belonged to her mother. You go to the point on the map and do a quick scan. Find the ring. Return the ring. The end.
I know which quest I'd rather do. It isn't the ring one.
Yeah I actually enjoyed the pan quest, and even that was 10x more deep then 90% of the sidequests in inquisition.
The witcher just has so many tiny details, I love it.

huzzah! TW3 has cinematic side quests! So did ME3, but others like myself prefer to have those zots used elsewhere so we can skip the films, and continue to play the game. This is something that has been asked about now for a few years, and Bioware apparently listened.
Feedback... Be more like DAI.
You should try the witcher, sure there's cinematics, but there's also complexity. Most quests have multiple parts, twists, dialogue, decisions... dai has go to point a, pick up useless item, get +2 power and quest complete.
Most of DAI's quests have no writing, no impact on the world, no memorable characters. I've met memorable characters in the most basic of witcher quests, Likable ones, with actual shades of gray.
If you want a game with no films and no story, just play minecraft or terraria or soemthing. Mining, monsters, no pesky storytelling or cinematic sequences to bring you down.

Given the choice, prefer to gain Experience and Influence over Power. Also prefer to compare somewhat fairly, but that would defeat the purpose of this example....
No I am comparing fairly. That's a basic dai quest versus a basic dai quest.
I'm sorry but I love dragon age and they crapped the bed with the lack of narrative, and TW3 delivers the kind of experience I wanted from a dragon age game in an open world with incredible details in every respect.
I could not have been more wrong about tw3, and I freely admit it's amazing. DAI is mediocre at best.

nah! TW3 has too much 'complexity' for me. It seems to be in the very language, the mini-game of cards, in the fashion (or lack thereof), the exploits in the bedroom, the immersive quality of excrement, etc; all described here and elsewhere by fans and non-fans alike. And still no Pause feature.
DAI has Cole, Dorian, Solas, and Vivienne to name a memorable few of my faves, and numerous posts, threads, and praise can also be found for the Iron Bull, Cullen, and Josephine among the others. It would seem that is some cannot remember anyone from this game, that indicates more about the Player than the writing.

Damn that's a bloody shame. Actually now that I think about it, neither DA:O nor DA:2 had mini games. I actually think that would be a lovely addition for the next Dragon Age. I could see stuff like horse races, poker etc.
And yea, at first I didn't really like Gwent because i was never a fan of card games but now I'm completely addicted to it. Every time someone offers the option to play Gwent, I take it, and it is oddly satisfying to battle using actual characters and factions from the lore and the story. Kicking ass with Broche and Yennefer is just amazing
