Give gwent a try, it is amazing.
I second this, I didn't really get into Gwent my first two playthroughs but having fun with it in my third, not doing too badly at it either ![]()

I just gotta say this. I bet those more errr sensitive people is going to moan a lot more for Yen's alternative gear. Those stockings! I haven't met Triss yet so I don't know what hers is like. Well done for not giving into the negativity on how everyone should look in a fantasy game. It's very refreshing imo.
I like her second outfit and I think it fits on certain occasions, most of the time it doesn't fit lol
Triss second outfit is the worst though

It's time to duel.

I ended up getting hooked on Gwent, but the tutorial came at the wrong time. At that point in the game the last thing I was interested in was playing cards.
I just wanted to explore and take look around.
Next playthrough I'll have to try and collect a full set.
The Baron beat me like 11x before I managed to beat him :-p
C'mon Bioware give us Wicked Grace for DA4. I'd love to see how that's played.
I beat the Baron on my first attempt. Got a little lucky and also I am familiar with the Northern Deck. That darn Blacksmith chick in the castle who uses the stupid monster deck gave me all sorts of hell!!!

Twas the first time I went against a Monster Deck and I didnt realize how freaking cheap that deck can be. My deck was incomplete then and If I dont have a perfect draw there is no way I can beat her... it was ugly... I dont even remember how many freaking times I have lost to her.

Yoana's deck is pretty terrifying until I got three biting frost in my deck.

Yeah.. but even so, at times she still manages to win by scorching all my siege engines right after I biting frost her T_T

Where is this Yoana located?
Crows’ Perch, next to the Dwarf smith Fergus. P.S. She is the master armorer.

I'm no gwent expert by any means, but if you can get a monster deck opponent to play enough melee cards, Biting Frost plus Villentretenmerth aka scorchy dragon can really mess them up. It's the luck of the initial draw of course, but I lost count how often scorchy dragon won me matches against the monster deck. Decoying him back into your deck for another scorch attack pretty works well too.

If only I had the Villentretenmerth card when I ran into her ![]()
Regardless, she is tough when I first ran into her and have no idea what the Monster Deck does and my deck was really basic. So it is all about how lucky I was because I know what I need to beat her, I simply dont have the means to do it back then. ![]()

The difficulty of Gwent opponents seemed somewhat random. For example, the big tournament a the Passiflora didn't seem overly hard to win, but that loan shark in Novigrad gave me a few spankings I won't forget so soon. ![]()

Depends on your draw and deck of course.
Well, I finished TW3. I'm sad that it ended because it was such an enjoyable ride, but once the credits started rolling I was grinning like an idiot (I got the best ending) and felt this sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that I can't even explain. THIS is what I want in a game. I want to put several hours into it and then when I finish it I want to be able to look back and think, "Wow, that was amazing!" and unlike DAI, TW3 did that for me and more. What a rollercoaster of emotions! You can really see the people who made this game really put their hearts into it.I don't think I can go back to DAI after this. The difference in the quality of both games is abysmal. The main story, the sidequests, the worlds, the characters, TW3 puts DAI to shame in every aspect, at least in my opinion. Geralt is a set character and I thought I wouldn't connect with him because of it, because I couldn't customize my character how I wanted, but boy, was I wrong. By the end of the game I was so attached to him, it's actually ridiculous. And I think the story contributed to this greatly, because it's so personal and close to Geralt's heart, you really have no choice but to feel like it's close to you as well. You see him in his badass moments, but you also see him in these really vulnerable and desperate moments that can bring a tear to the eye (Geralt and Ciri's reunion anyone? Who shed a tear or 20? *raises hand*). I'd take a set PC any day if that means I'll get to experience an amazing personal story. I don't give a damn about all the choices we get on who we get to play in DAI because at the end of the day, every single Inquisitor I make will end up to be the same blank slate as the others with no connection to the story or the characters. In TW3 these characters come in and just feel so natural and really captivate you with their charming personalities and it's just impossible not to love them. I haven't played the previous TW games or read the books, so this was the first time I met these characters and yet they managed to steal a little place in my heart, something that hasn't happened to me since DAO.SpoilerAmazing game, deserves all the praises it gets. I'll probably make a post with my full feedback on what I think TW3 did great and how DA4 could benefit from it but I think it was already said several times and I bet none of the developers even read this thread anyway. Now, I'm off to play TW2. Watched TW1 in Youtube already. And then gonna start my second playthrough in TW3, so many decisions that I want to change and see how it affects the story!
Advice: Try TW1 as well it is fun. And spend some time to read Witcher novels (not just last wish!) You would enjoy a lot more when you decide to start 2nd run. ![]()
I was not impressed by The Witcher 2 at all it was one the most boring and bland RPGs I've played. I have no interest in playing any other games in the series.

The madness is strong with this one. ![]()
More seriously, I must ask what you found so bland and boring about Witcher 2. That game to me screamed all the opposite.

Yep. All Witcher games are great. I especially have a soft spot for W1. I just love the atmosphere of that game.
Compiling this thread is rich, reading the first 82 pages? Sheesh, no wonder i'm cranky.
TW 1 was fun - I am replaying it now. TW2 was good - TW3 - spectacular! Judging the series based on TW2 is like judging DA based on DA;2 - you really don't get the whole picture
Which Witcher books do you recommend? . I understand there are quite a few of them. Haven't researched yet, but definitely want to buy.

Might as well start on the Last Wish and just go through all of them. There are fan translations for every book except season of Storms, which is a prequel that doesn't really matter.
Personally my favourite book was Time of Contempt.
I really like Yenn's new outfit. I can't wait to get Ciri's new one. It looks amazing.I like her second outfit and I think it fits on certain occasions, most of the time it doesn't fit lol
Triss second outfit is the worst though

I thought I was going to love the alternate one for Triss. In the preview, it only showed it from waist up and I thought it looked amazing, but after seeing the entire outfit, I didn't like it as much. However!, I freaking love the hairstyle she has that came with the outfit. I'd kill for something like that for my Inquisitor.
I was really hoping the alternate look for Triss would have been the Witcher 2 outfit.
