That's something else I disliked with DAI you couldn't actually fail a quest, if the Druffalo was immortal what were you supposed to be saving it from? Why bother?

This game took the hand-holding to the extreme. You suffer absolutely no setbacks in the game. You can't fail at anything at all.I am pretty sure you can just pick random conversation options through the whole game, and it still won't damage your chances at anything.

They forced people to play the MP in ME3 too. You needed to play it because of the Galactic Readiness in the SP game. Some months later, after they could call the MP a massive success, they patched the game and released some DLC that made it possible to get enough GR via single player.

It wasn't quite that nefarious. They honestly thought Synthesis was the best ending; the only thing MP was require for was the breathing scene which I'm sure they thought was just an Easter egg. In absolutely bad taste, but not quite making MP mandatory.

That's basically every Bioware game since KOTOR, apart from whatever story consequences you'll get.

Don't forget

Spoiler
shows a lot of emotion there. I don't understand how people miss the emotion in the game and Geralt, he certainly has more emotion than the inquisitor does in DAI and his decisions affect the world more.

I saw a friend get that ending. Jeez, how depressingly sad. I thought the scene with Skall(sp) was sad-- the one with Yen and Geralt. Of course, there is the goodbye scene with Triss. /sigh #sadface

The most emotional scene in my opinion, and this shouldn't be considered spoiler, is the scene with Dudu. If you've seen it you know what i'm talking about.

For me it's Uma at Kaer Morhen... that actually made me sob... but there are a few times scenes in W3 were emotional enough to make me shed a tear. As for

Because God forbid if Druffy could be killed and you could fail at something!

Yeah but you don't know that when playing the game for the first time, do you? I remember seeing the GR keep dropping and dropping, and I was told by the devs that keeping it high was pretty damn important.

In Kotor it could kill you. During that trial on Manaan, for example. I think there were other incidents too.

It doesn't escape anyone's notice. It's still seen as a boring quest by most because closing that rift doesn't add any interest to the quest whatsoever. It's an exploit. You can just as easily skip the rift and go back to it when you're a higher level without that boring bag of meat.

It was an exploit that a few rather clever folks discovered, so the minor quest can be used to help with another. Or one could avoid the quest, leave before it was offered, refuse to complete it, etc. Options; rather like them myself.

Wow, to do or not do a quest, so many options DAI gave us!

Avoiding, leave before it was offered, refuse to complete it....Sounds like the very same option to me.

Exiting the game is another option. Or leave the game on forever, and not touching it. That is two more option Bioware gave us.

I was actually surprised by the amount of humor in the game. The previous games had some too, but this one took it a great deal further. The lighthouse scene was brilliant.

I lmao at that one too. My favorite one has to be...

That would seem to be incorrect, as dialogue appears to be needed for choosing the Divine, getting Companion approval and having them stick around, start and maintain romances, avoid battle at the Orlesian ball, etc. But guess these examples slipped by while banging one's head into the keyboard....

Whoever you chose as the Divine won't set you back at all. You can't fail that quest in any way.

And so what if you get a battle at the Orlesian Ball? Battle or not, you won't lose anything measurable.

I never laughed so much while playing a video game, it was just brilliant. Also, Geralt and Lambert bickering is something amazing to witness. All these characters have such great chemistry together, something I felt it was really missing from DAI.

I thought the DA:I characters had great chemistry in a way. But usually it was a pair thing. Dorian + Iron Bull. Cassandra + Varric, etc.

Yes; if one completes the game, there will be a new Divine, but based on the dialogue chosen, it may not be the one the Player desires.

If one wanted to avoid battle and have the events play out on the dance floor instead a brawl in the garden, that would seemingly be based on prior choices.

Not getting the outcome of choice can be a failure to some Players. See ME3 for details....

His standards are pretty low anyway, if he thinks being able to close a rift with a druffalo makes a quest interesting.

I am not sure if he can appreciate the differences you're getting at.

Perhaps this is a good point; actually thought at one time that some Players here could have an original thought. Should set my goals higher....

The only sense of comraderie  I got from DA:I surprisingly enough was from Cass, Dorian and Solas. Didn't t really feel like I had a relationship with anyone else including Varric. Lots of this had to do with the fact that I found the other characters pretty unappealing, if not down right unlikeable.  I did like Cole, but kind of hard to have a relationship with him LOL but maybe one day.

Conversely, the relationships in the Witcher seemed very rich and deep. A real sense of history and of genuine feelings. One of the hallmarks of DA games is the companions and the relationships among them, but the companions felt a bit off for me this time.

Geralt was just brilliant in this one - his sighs and eye rolls.... so telling LOL. I know some people find him flat - but I find him pretty terrific. He is the epitome of cool and confident. Love him!

I had plenty original thoughts when playing the game. Auto-dialogue during cutscenes shot those down pretty quickly, though. Not all players go "lalalala didn't hear that" while playing.

Yes but the choices are absolutely pointless, since you can't ever make a wrong choice. That is my point.

But in this case I was talking about chemistry between the PC and the people that supposedly are their friends. I never once felt like the companions in DAI were my Inquisitor's friends. You could say that TW3 is different in a way because Geralt knows these people for quite some time and went through a lot with them but on the other hand, I had no problem feeling that sense of friendship in DAO and DA2 so it's a DAI problem to me. Even so, I feel like you only get to witness some of that chemistry between companions during party banter (like Dorian and Iron Bull), which is a rarity.
