Speaking for myself, I travel by boat whenever I can. In Skellige, I use it to get around more than I use Roach and I love that damn horse. I love water mechanics and TW3 certainly satisfies that with whale watching, ship wrecks and actual combat on the boat in the middle of the sea. It's great!

I wish though that the sea's became rough when it's stormy though. That would be fun

We had a thread about the animation and the majority wanted to keep it. Personally I would like a toggle.

That occurred to me, but it seems like the most pointless toggle ever.

It just seems to be a questionable design choice in the first place. Lots of games don't have loot animations, and nobody complains about those as a strike against "immersion."

Yeah I was a bit surprised that the support for the animation was as strong, but there it is. Of course there were quite a few that didn't like it as well. So I settled for a toggle or a mod.

Yeah, Line Generou mentioned a mod above. I am interested to try it out. I must confess that I haven't really messed around with DAI mods at all (other than using Cheat Engine for various things), because it all seems so needlessly complicated and painful.

This mod is pretty simple

I don't have any mods in DAI, I just had to get this one because the looting animation was driving me crazy  and I had planned a new playthrough

The new finishing moves in TW3 was already added to the game? I opened GOG and it just downloaded something here but I have no idea what it is.

Sometimes it is turbulent, but do you mean every single time it storms? If so, then yeah, I agree.

One time though, I signed off while still in my boat and the water was very turbulent and it was night and stormy, the next day when I signed back in, it was day and the water was calm and steady. I also like how sometimes the rain is gentle and other times it's just a summer storm and other times it's really cracking, or how sometimes it's just a nice breeze and other times it's really windy and bending trees. It's a nice dynamic.

For starters, lore and story.

Geralt is a witcher. Only witchers know how to brew their potions, with which ingredients,  and how and when to use them.

He's a loner and has no subordinates or helpers.

Inquisitior is a leader of a major organization/movement, with likely thousands of soldiers, peasants, magicians, etc. under him.
Surely he could've had someone else pick some plants for him.

...

Gameplay wise, you're right, there's no difference.

(only thing I don't remember is if there's a looting animation in DA:I... there isn't in TW3)

Just adding, in the witcher 3 you just have to gather the materials once.

I had to go to my store and "purchase" it, just as I did for the other dlc. I am on Xbox One though. Have you ever had one of the DLC's automatically download before?

Personally, I love that. If you'd rather not go that route, it is easy enough to avoid it. Just don't carry any of that alcohest. I think a few other strong spirits will do, as well. Either way, if the alcohol has "Used for Alchemy" in its description and you place it in your inventory, it will refill your potions.

I can update on GOG but if it is a new DLC it shows on the list of DLCs available, but this one isn't showing

So this DLC is already out?

I remember reading that someone thought Witcher 3 didn't have good facial animations. He must've been on drugs as I just did the Last Wish quest and kept the romance with Yennefer. I don't think I ever saw someone show so much happiness and relief than when Geralt said "I love you" to her. Damn powerful !

I guess they just ignore the stiff facial animations of DAI, or the lack of any sort of facial animation for background npcs!

It is for Xbox One, I downloaded it last night. Not sure about any other platform.

They did in Skyrim. But it is no huge surprise that someone will always complain and/ or criticize anything.

Elhanan, you seem like a nice guy, but why the insults? It gets annoying.

What insult? Since I have been posting on the various boards and forums, I have seen criticism about nearly everything including free content. And if it has not been on those forums, reports of the complaints at Steam, CDPR, Bethesda, and other various sites are rather stellar.

Folks need to remove chips off their shoulders, and assumptions from their reading glasses; are seeing something that does not exist.

Fine by me. However, if Tommy feels insulted by that reply, he can reply by PM; an option not open to many other posters here. I had no such intention; only confirming that folks have complained about immersive animations on both sides of that issue. One does not even have to leave this thread to see it either.

So I just got to Kaer Morhen and I have to say, I'm quite shocked at just how incredibly well it has been re-created from The Witcher 1. From details like busted doors to crumbled stairs, the details are just insanely well preserved. I guess I realley expected something else, like a total redesign or something. I'm really, really happy about that :) . It makes me feel like there is a real love and care for the legacy of the past and I find that so important for immersion and continuity.

I was incredibly disappointed how Bioware completely redesigned Redcliffle like it was an entirely different village from what we see in DAO. They really missed the opportunity to give the players that sense of nostalgia when going back to it in DAI.

I don't see the point of adding Redcliffe back in if its going to look so different, might as well have just let us go to Highever or Gwaren, its probably going to be our last time in Ferelden, should have let us see a new area.

Redcliffe is a new (ie; not the same) village, as it was destroyed near the end of DAO by Darkspawn right before the march on Denerim.

That's true, but there is litterarly nothing from the new Redcliff that is reminiscent of the old one. The terrain is completely different and if they decided to make a new village, how about showing us the vestige of the old Redcliff, ruins here and there etc.
