I see. I like the sound of that. When I started my second playthrough I forgot how squishy you are on the first levels and those damn ghouls killed me a few times. I did have the difficulty on death march because I wanted to tried it out but nah, it's definitely not for me. lol But I may try it again for my third playthrough if they add NG+. Also, while I like the treasure hunts, it would be nice to not have to do them for the 3th time in order to get all the diagrams for the witcher gear again. It's a nice way to focus more on the story and not so much farming and leveling up.

The one area where I don't necessarily see them making thing more interesting are Gwent cards.

All Gwent related quests will be trivial and all the encounters fairly easy (unless they take away the cards).

Wow.. last night what a rolercoaster ride for me. I let Triss go and even when I did not romance her, the moment kind of hit me. Then did the play for Dudu, and wow Geralt was a bad actor and I chosed the most stupid lines and laughed. Then Dudu did a Ciri... and that was the first time I saw Geralt looking so devastated. He did not even have to say anything but you can see.

I can't remember if DAI had scenes like that, but I want that for the next one.

I love that CDPR put so much effort in the facial expressions. It adds soo much emotional value to the scenes.

So far the biggest problem/annoyance that I have with Witcher 3 is the same as other similar large world type games with tons of content, no ability to add personal notes to a map icon.  Not sure why this does not seem to be a feature implemented for these types of games.  Come across an area whose inhabitants are too strong for your level: be nice to be able to note that on the map and move on.  Wonder whether or not you have beaten (and received their card) a specific Merchant at Gwent or not?  Can't tell from the map so be really nice to be able to note that.

Seems like such a trivial but immensely effective feature (at least for me).  Might give it a go as a mod when (and if) the mod kit comes out.

Triss's face, her facial expression when Geralt bids her farewell is so very well done. Very emotional scene. The reunion scene... strangely didnt hit me that much... maybe because I was thinking "Hey CDPR just pull a Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" and we all know how that fairy tale ends... The more emotional moment is when you get the worst ending... [Edit] actually all 3 endings are very very very well done. I want Bioware to learn from that but.... I can only hope.

No... I dont recall DAI having such emotional scenes. [Edit: Why care, I cant lose] Maybe there is but... I just dont feel it. "Hawke, I will stay here and cover you. Corypheus is mine".... I was like... "Hawke... did the demon hit you on the head that hard just now? What do you mean Corypheus is yours but you are going to stay here and fight the spider..." Makes no sense.

My most memorable farewell scenes and death scenes however are all from Mass Effect - ME3 specifically. Saying goodbye to Garrus, Liara, Tali and crew.... bidding Mordin farewell as he sacrifices himself. These moments are very powerful because not only is Shepard bidding his crew farewell, the players are also bidding these characters that we have known for 7 years farewell. (Even the lousy ending cant spoil this)

It is easy for me to say that TW3 beats DAI in most of not all comparable areas but I cant say the same when comparing TW to ME.

I just hope Bioware dont mess up the new Mass Effect.... the choice of music gave me quite a scare and I am worried.... very worried.

The Johnny Cash number? Well, let's blame EA marketing; they have a knack for picking inappropriate music (anyone remembering 'This is the new ****'?).

But that guy in the trailer... his armor is cowboyish - see the scarf. His behavior is cowboyish - why would he pull out his sidearm on the bridge!?

Arrrr.... If I wanted the wild wild west I'd play Borderlands. At least Handsome Jack and Claptrap is there to entertain me.  <_<  <_<  <_<

The reason is very simple. Overall quality. To illustrate, this is how DAI feels like after experiencing TW3:

DAI

TW3

:P

Well at least i believe that the budget was very different,Lord of the rings was much more expensive to whatever movie is depicted by the picture at the top :P (blessed ignorance)
But overall i don't believe that DAI budget was lowest compared to the one of WH3

The trailer felt like it belonged to a generic sci-fi shooter, if it hadn't been for the fact I knew it was Mass Effect. I wouldn't be surprised if, with the Frostbite engine, they turn it into some kind of Borderlands / Far Cry hybrid, with a bit more story and more elaborate characters and multiple quasi-open zones, one each per planet.

And you have to collect memory crystals to unlock an ancient electronic archive that will allow you to create and use cybernetic enhancements that will increase speed, dexterity and hit points ;) .

Who knows, they may improve on some things and those hypothetical improvements could feed into the next DA game.

Leaks says that we are to look for ancient vaults in ME:A  <_<  <_<  <_<  If it is true.... Ancient VAULTS.... Vault Hunters anyone?

And I am expecting a Destiny-ish MP too.  <_<  <_<  <_<

Ah well... at least there is Cyperpunk... hope CDPR can learn to make emotional story that rivals ME trilogy. I dont think Bioware today is capable of that anymore  <_<

Some of them are, but a lot of ? marks, even on the Mainland, indicate minor stuff that basically fills up the countryside between the really interesting stuff (in the villages, ruins, major dungeons, certain camps etc.). They are meant to 'break up' your travels across the landscape (some of the quasi-dynamic encounters serve the same role, but have a bit more substance to them).

The only way to be sure is to take a looksie...

For skellige go for the question marks on land, ignore every single sea based one.

Yeah, I was talking about the question marks on the water and along the little scattered islands. There are just too many of them. I don't mind hidden treasures and whatnot on land, but the ones on water are annoying because you have to get out of the boat, dive in and come back up over and over again and you always have to deal with sirens which are more annoying than drowners and fighting them on a boat can be a pain because they can throw you off. I know there's a horn you get that can scare them off but it didn't seem to work that well. For one, it doesn't work if they are under water. But yeah, I'll just ignore it since those smugglers' caches are only there if you want to farm, I just wanted to be sure none of those question marks included a quest of some people that got lost in the sea or something.

Only land ones matter as they are places of power or locations for some school gear among them. All sea ones are smugglers caches and since random loot is always  generated 2 levels below your current level they are useless.

Dont fight them on the boat. Just stop the boat and dive into the water. Those silly Sirens will dive in one by one and you can one shot them with the crossbow.  ;)

If there's one thing that Bioware should put into DA4 that was in the Witcher 3 is dynamic weather.

From the Twitter thread:

@User: @Mike_Laidlaw @PatrickWeekes how huge of a pain would it be to have changing weather at random in DA:I? And if it effects combat?

Patrick Weeks:@PatrickWeekes: @User @Mike_Laidlaw In DAI? Almost impossible. In a future game, though, something we'd love to do.

Does the use of dynamic weather have an effect on the gameplay or is it just cosmetic or atmospheric in Witcher 3?

Oh my.

The last DLC just might, in fact, be New Game Plus.

https://twitter.com/...641014452162560

HAPPINESS. :D  ^_^

Oh.my.Gurd. If this happens, I will love you for bringing me this glorious news, Corto.

On another note: If the Question Mark quests are buggin' on your nerves, you can toggle them off so they're not on your map. I love this option, if I see it on the map, it's a compulsion to complete it. I may toggle them off at some point, but I am only on my second playthrough and I still like doing them.

Edit: It's true! SO EXCITED.

In Witcher 2 I know rain made Quen more effective but I don't know if in W3 it does that too.
