And at sunrise or sunset!! Hnnnggg

Still haven't seen that infamous whale tho. Just ugly sirens.

Yes, like this (a screenshot I took just sailing around :) ):

And you can hear the whales, sometimes singing and most of the time blowing air so just look around when you hear it.

Does the use of dynamic weather have an effect on the gameplay or is it just cosmetic or atmospheric in Witcher 3?

Seems to be cosmetic; have not seen anything about gameplay.

http://www.gameinfor...creenshots.aspx

So it doesn't mention combat but it does change NPC's schedule, their comments, where they go, that sort of thing.

How will the weather affect your adventures? Are there any events that are related to the weather? Do NPCs characters react to the changing time/weather?

NPCs definitely react to the weather, just like animals and monsters do. Inns will become crowded in the evening and at night, for example. Thieves, thugs, and other dangerous elements come out at night as well. Some quests can only be triggered at certain times of day.

Yeah I hope that's in most open world games going forward. Nothing kills the moment more than it being pouring rain and the same black smith is hammering away like it's sunny out.

There's a mod for that but still...wtf.

Never really bothered me in Skyrim, as medieval artisans did not exactly have banker's hours. Still, the mod's are nice to allow for adjustments.

Just out of convenience for those who still don't know: It's happening! They're ending the DLC saga with a style. :)

Yeah but are you really gonna be standing around at the smelter with rain pouring on you? Just seems silly and liable to end up with you sick.

Glad I never had to find out, for at like 1 silver per day wages, might have sacrificed health for income if the family was in need. Still, I do enjoy seeing Argonians out and about when others have to bundle up instead.

From the Twitter thread:

Affecting combat is what would make it near impossible. Can't be that hard to have dynamic weather though.

Guys do you know if we get more than 4 ability trees later on in game? I mean those slots you fill to activate abilities

I'm almost filling my 4th one and I'm at level 24

I'm still in Novigrad on my first play through. Don't know when I'll ever finish this game and be able to start a new one.

Feel the same with DAI; now sitting at 670+ hrs, if I recall.

Actually, do not need NG+ in DAI, as one may continue gameplay after the finale. This is when I prefer to go Dragon hunting for any met not in the way earlier in the game. And JoH may be played before or after; works well for either choice.

Yeah that's probably over 5+ playthroughs. I finished DAI at 53hrs semi completionist on a single go. While I am on 118hrs on TW3 and only probably just in the middle of it on my FIRST ever playthrough. I haven't even done a lot of monster contracts and my journal is full of it. Do the maths.

Edit: You can even deduct 10 hrs of that 118 for Gwent.

Nope; first two lasted 600+ hrs, and now I am in the third playing a female Elven Inq to hear another VO.

Just gonna give you a tip. If you are not crowned Gwent master before you meet Ciri she will reject Geralt as a stepfather in shame.

Dont fight them on the boat. Just stop the boat and dive into the water. Those silly Sirens will dive in one by one and you can one shot them with the crossbow.  ;)

Yep works every time, I never fight them in the boat...

Me either. I learned that lesson first time I went to Skellige and they swamped my boat, leaving me stranded in the middle of the open sea. That's before I knew I could crossbow under water.

Do you know what made me seriously happy in TW3, I'm like 100 hours in now, i just arrived at Kaer Morhan (I've been obsessively doing contarcts and undiscovered locations, for the sake of sanity the undiscovered locations have to be turned off next playthrough to save me 60+ hours of wandering) and it's exactly the same as I remember. The area around is beautiful, it's graphically upgraded of course, but it's the same keep.

I smiled as I walked through the interior, it was a feeling of nostalgia that I was craving in DAI and never got. The attention to detail is great and it'll all meant to remind you of a place you were long ago.

Meanwhile DAI drops redcliff in the hinterlands instead of letting us revisit it, they remove healing spells, they change the economy so an elfroot that costs 3 copper now costs a gold soverign to buy, the qunari think differenly... all the little details of the world we remember were paid basically no attention. They don't respect the games that came before, decisions sure, but not the world. DAI, part of the dragon age series, a bioware game from THE dev whose known for awesome moments of nostalgia, totally failed to provide it.

Big trolly mountain.

Dude likes scenery and mining for rocks.
