Sack the guy who made the Golden Halla quest. That should help.

Maybe he can get a job making a CC for TW3; seem to need one....

Last I heard swimming was cut because it made it possible to glitch under the map in DA:I, there are supposedly a bunch of technical issues behind it.

If they tell me: We dont even have enough to fill the land maps, tis impossible for us to do underwater content. I would understand and I would not fault them. If someone tell me it is "technical issues".... I dont buy that at all, I call it BS - that or they have really really really bad coders.

We are happily swimming, diving, shooting people in water - in the ocean with attack boats zipping around and a storm brewing all the time. That game is: Battlefield 4. Since swimming is a built in function of the frostbite engine, how bad can these technical issues be? hrmf...

I don't know how much of it comes down to a willingness to spend resources on it but that's the reason I have seen for it not being there.

I know a fair bit about programming, but I don't have the source code and DA:I suffers from rendering issues that isn't present in Battlefield when more than one gpu is in use.

If we are talking about SLI or Crossfire, it is up to nVidia and AMD to provide and improve the profiles for each game. They do that.

Frostbite by default does not support many of the features required by DAI there is that. Basic standard features like water however... well. Just tell me they dont have time and resource to produce underwater animation, underwater monsters, underwater mechanics etc. I'd understand.

I dont claim that what you say is untrue. I am just not willing to believe them.

People here are probably not interested in MMO but there is one I'd like to point out. When it comes to character creator.... eh... I was actually hopping for something like this. Tis 2014 after all....

Male:

Female:

Awww... I probably could spend 100 hours making characters alone.

At the cost of removing the half of companions and party banter.......well that's okay.

The two aren't related in any way, but even if they were, the party banter should be heavily trimmed. It takes up a significant part of the dialogue budget, and most players will never hear the vast majority of it anyway. If it were a choice between more varied gameplay and a couple of lines of corny dialogue every twelve hours, i'd take the former every time.

Yeah, I also think the game could have done with 6 companions at most. I hope they get rid of the advisers in the next game.

When it actually works, anyway. It took them way too long to fix that.

Black Desert's character creation is pretty awesome with how ridiculously extensive it is. Although, as much as I like how extensive and easy it is to use I'm not particularly too fond of how overly pretty the character models.

Dragon's Dogma Online on the other hand, despite its CC not being as extensive as Black Desert's nor is its graphics anywhere near as good, does have some cool looking character models without looking so ridiculously pretty.

So yeah, future DA games could look towards Black Desert for its CC while also having the cool hairstyles present in Dragon's Dogma Online.

    You are against ridiculously pretty characters???? Anyways, I am sure I can make the ugliest character with that character creator :P

The characters in Black Desert look more like supermodels which isn't a surprise since its a Korean MMORPG.

Dragon's Dogma Online looks a little more realistic while still having great hairstyles.

I thought it'd be cool if they had an effect on the environment, twist the tress, drive the animals crazy, have demons attacking refugees etc... but no, all the same, every time.

Yeah, that would be pretty cool to.  Or later in the game, months after the initial rift is opened, we start to see little pockets of the Fade in reality.  There was so much potential for some really cool things.  So much unrealized potential.

That isn't so much the fault of the character creation system as the people making the characters, unless you are referring to developer implemented npc's.

Its technically not labelled up into acts but a lot of people commonly split the game up into 3 of them, however if the player is still with the game by the time they reach "act" 2, they wouldn't post a complaint like that considering just how far in it is, personally I reached that point at around 90 hours in or so.

I wonder just how much of this didn't happen because they had to get the game working on xbox 360/PS3, I know I have seen mentions of old gen consoles and something else that didn't make it into the game, which is defending keeps you held like the one in the western approach from assaults.

Yeah, I also remember them saying things like how we would have different choices in the zones.  Choices that will unlock one area or another, which would give more value to multiple playthroughs.  That also didn't happen.

Like the wolves and soldiers in the Hinterlands and Exalted Plains for example. Yes, it is cool.

Lol, seriously?  What was twisted about the wolves and spiders?  They looked like pretty normal spiders and wolves to me.  Even the ones that the horsemaster's wife sent us after that were supposed to be abnormal.  Still looked like pretty much every other wolf to me.

That's your opinion and that's okay. :) Personally I like knowing there is danger in the murky depths. You're not safe anywhere, etc. Is it special and unique? Meh. Is it fun and fits in with the flow of the game? IMO, yes.

TW3 has sea bound creatures in their lore, would be off kilter to go into the water and have none attack you. I think it's an aspect that keeps you in your toes.

That being said, I would be entirely happy with swimming and hunting for treasure in DAI. Boats and battles would just be the icing. Throwing a few creatures in, would be exciting to boot.

The only thing about underwater that annoyed me is whenever I saw a whale tail and jumped in...there was no whale.  That made me sad.  I wanted to swim with some whales.

CDPR has cheaper dev cost than Bioware has. TW3 is only $32 million.

Uhhh....and yet they still made a superior game.  My God if CDPR had Bioware's budget....I can't even imagine how much more incredible it would have been.  But then, if they did...they would probably have to deal with a crappy publisher like EA.....

Dunno what a demonic led wolf is supposed to look like myself (glowing eyes?), but they were in the game, and were described as behaving unnaturally for the quest. And corpses and ruined structures were nearby in several locations, as well as a few wandering demons for a few areas and sites.

Cannot complain that something was not implemented if it was, or should not anyway.

Nailed it; demonic led, not possessed. Thanks!

Terrible argument.  Yes, we can make different characters in DA:I.  No, none of them have anywhere near as rich a history or background as Geralt does.  And certainly none of them are anywhere near as badass of a character.  Games that have only one option for the player character certainly have their place, as do games where you can create your character.
