The advantage of TW3 is that we have had three games to learn about Geralt and so to see his maturation process - the other side of him with Ciri and Yenn was fabulous.

Oh my god yes.  Geralt, for a character who was supposed to be so stoic and emotionless, had a lot of subtlety to those emotions.  There were a a lot of really strong, powerful moments for me in that game that made me feel what he was feeling.  Such as when he beats Whoreson Jr down so badly because he hurt Ciri.  The mischief in his eyes when they destroy the elf dude's lab, the pain he feels when he believes her to be dead.  Emotion was something DA:I was lacking.  The only part I felt emotional was just after Haven in the mountains.  Still my favorite part of the game.

Again, one's opinion is not fact; neither is mine. But the facts are that when one says there are no this or that, and they are indeed extant, that is invalid information. And the cycle repeats.

Yes the shards and all that are there. But it doesn't make the quest any less boring The whole oculara thing should have been a quest all of it's own. But, instead it is barely mentioned and never brought up again.. That temple could have been so much more. DAI in general could have been so much more. I am currently playing Witcher 3 and it makes DAI flaws that much more glaring.I hope they take how to craft intersting sidequest, choice and consequence from The Witcher 3. Also how to make the world more reactive. The rifts are a really great example. Demons should have been pouring out of them wreacking havoc on the surrounding area and populance instead it does nothing.

Based on my Journal notes, the Shards are a separate quest; one that seems to reappear when discovering new Oculara in a new area. And demons do pour out of the rifts; more so in the Dales, so it is not nothing. Again.

Yep, I was referring to that part on my last comment. Haha I couldn't remember the name of the quest.

I specially love how she sits on a rock waiting for you.

It's amazing how much seemingly little things like that can add to a game.

And again no effect on populance and surrounding enviromenat. Again no reactivity. Hell if the inquistoe never stepped foot near them a demon would never come out. Kinda funny how they only become active when the inquistor is close. One would think with the populated areas like i don't know the redcliffe farms the demons would terrorize them and such. Also you would think people would be fleeing there homes due to the rifts, but no the people seem perfectly fine. Also it would seem to me to  be a huge deal when closing one of those things. But no noone ever comments on the fact that you have the area changes in no significant way. Also with the rifts just being there one would think the fade would be affecting the area. But no there just there bothering nothing until you show up. I get you love the game but it is seriously flawed. They (Bioware) could learn from The Witcher 3 how to make a more reactive world.

And again, inaccurate. While not every rift has such a scene, a few do. And demons were wandering in the Dales away from the rifts; wish achieved.

Kinda funny NPC's do not appear unless Geralt is around; some call it gameplay mechanics and are fine with it, as am I.

Honestly, it's best not to discuss anything with him and ignore him. He doesn't want to do anything but white knight DAI and he is not above making up things to further his argument. He wants attention, please don't give him anymore of an excuse to seek it.

Edit: I know it's hard and I fall into myself sometimes because the arguments he makes can be so ridiculous, but he would love to see this thread close. Let's not give him that.

Agreed. As much as i instinctively almost bit on the whole "npcs don't appear unless Geralt is close" thing because it's outright rediculous, you are 100% correct.

We need to focus on the witcher and how it surpassed DAI, and not one man's irrational hatred of a game he refuses to try.

And hopefully bioware will take note, and give us a game closer to the dragon age we love next time, something with some real story and depth, maybe even a tactics menu and lore that fits with past entries.

In all seriousness though, I just finished Arkham Knight and good GOD it was amazing, especially the OST. Inner Demons always made me feel sad, knowing that some bad sh*t was about to go down. Dragon Age's OST was pretty good (not an OST, but Joseph Morgan's cover of What a Wonderful World blew me away) and Witcher was pretty bombass as well, but I never actually felt sad whenever music played in Dragon Age. Hope the next installment fixes that.

Your right...your absolutely not Sherlock....

I know it's easy to take the bait, god knows i have, but bioware could give us a grass field with a flapping flag that simply reads "there was a war here" and he'd praise them for providing evidence of it.

He'll never try the witcher, so he has no idea how the game presents the impact things have on the world around them, and how cheap it makes dai look in comparison. In DAI we get a codex entry and a line of dialogue, in the witcher, we can ride though the scene of a battle and see the aftermath for ourselves. We can see what monsters do to the people. Believe me, you're not in the minority for seeing it.

I dig the Skellege music, some of it while i was crossing the land was just kind of haunting and awesome. It felt like a true fantasy setting.

Ugh! I wish I could appreciate the TW3 soundtrack. I have seen so much praise for it, especially in Skellige. That place quickly became my favorite. Love it.

See, some people simply cannot think logically nor can they make accurate comparison. I would go as far as to speculate that he does not even understand a simple sentence like "DAI be more like The Witcher 3". Because normal people understands that one has to play both games to comment.

"One does not have to touch the stove to know it is hot".... again bad analogy which further proves that he cannot think logically or sensibly.

Imagine a bunch of people discussing omelettes (giving feedback to the chef). There is the Western omelette and there is this Taiwanese oyster omelette. Which tastes better? What can one learn from the other? etc. Logic dictates that only a person who has tasted both earns the right to say that they prefer one over the other right? Right?

But there comes a person who hasnt tasted both and starts to claim that they have watched enough food channel program and read enough food reviews to know how these omelette taste like. This person then goes ahead to discuss the difference in texture between these omelettes while everyone else is either baffled or frustrated but it bothers him not. This person than claims that his opinion is as valid as others because he has eaten enough eggs and watched enough food channel programs and read enough food reviews. He knows exactly how something that has never touched his lips taste like. Such is a nature of a Troll.

Since a Troll speaks without logic and sense, they cannot provide constructive criticism. It is also the Troll that will escalate the negative emotions of people who are trying to give constructive feedback.

The morale and feedback of this post to both players and Bioware is: Do not listen to Trolls. Do not feed the Trolls.

I'd honestly rather chill in Skellige than Novigrad.

Also the music is good, too.

Steel for Humans is still, as DJ Khaled once said, da best.

I can hear a bit of the tavern music and it sounds good, but I have heard that some of the music while you're out on the water is really haunting and beautiful. People also say when the whales are submerging, you can hear their song. Another friend said the ambient noise in forests and swamplands are really good too. It seems that CDPR thought of and executed so many wonderful details.

As long as we are in agreement; an oyster omelet sounds horrible, and would skip it, too.

The purchase of a game is not required to know one does not like the contents, as one has experienced those contents elsewhere. And by not having a Pause or Tactical function makes TW3 unplayable to boot.

As for what TW3 could offer the DA series, a return to a wider selection of weapon proficiencies, more Quickslots, and swimming would be fine. What is not desired are more cut-scenes and Action gameplay. And oysters.

He's good at it, but we have to let it go... let him say it sucks, let him say that story is unimportant, let him say the broken tactical cam makes DAI special. He's in the vast minority, and that's what counts.

I did keep Mia the sheep alive, had no idea she could die... hilarious quest though, I finally axii'd her and led her triumphantly through town. One of my finer witcher achievements if i do say so myself.

Velen was a depressing place all around, but i love the fact it's a warzone like the ones in dai, except it feels like a warzone. Whole towns burned out, battlefields filled with corpses you can ride through, necrophages feeding... and let's not forget the nilfgaardian camp. I wish i could have seen more of it, but it sure was neat riding in.

  I was wondering why Axii was not used in the videos I saw.

The moment the NPC started to explain to me how a sheep dog would guide the sheep, I was like.... I am not a dog nor the Inquisitor! I am a Witcher "AXII"  :D  :D  :D

I love axii. I liked the TW2 dialogue effect a little more though, kind of like using the force with the hand gesture and geralt's eyes lighting up. Tons of fun.

Yeah. But more importantly, it allows players to have an easier and smarter option to solve a problem like the one with Mia. Sure you can run around like you do the Golder Halla but if you just pause and think for a bit, you will discover that you can actually make use of a skill you already have to make life easier. You dont have to follow the NPC's instruction if they are dumb.

Integrating skills like AXII/Charm etc into normal game play is a mechanics I miss. Love how these tiny details are implemented in TW3.

I'm deaf. I am sure I would love it, though. Not only have I read how amazing it is, but my friends who play do nothing but praise it. I gave the OST CD to a friend who doesn't even play video games and he listens to it all the time. I trust that it's awesome.
