I won't argue this in theory, since I think the limit is stupid (could have kept the circle menu at least), but at least my passive skills don't take up a slot in DAI.

Although I guess technically, they're all passive, since I have access to all my toys from the beginning of the game. Still seems like a questionable design. I'll get used to it. Really can't wait to respec, at any rate.

I believe you can try to swim to Novigrad to find the merchant  :D

I recall you saving a lot of pelts, actually you dont need that many for crafting. It is safe to sell them all for $$

No, only the 6502 macro-assembler.  Atari BASIC programs were interpreted (not compiled) so it was imperative to write everything that needed speed in assembler.  It was best to drop reliance on BASIC altogether, which is why I became good at 6502.  I got my first real job on the strength of that, programming for the Apple 2 Plus and once even the C64.  From there I picked up 8088 and C at the same outfit, for the new IBM PC.  Off I went.  :)

I never did use an Amiga, and I regret it.

I started programming with Dartmouth Basic then Fortran and COBOL. Programming on the 8-bits and 16-bits was a hobby. Spent a great deal of time programming in COBOL on the IBM 360 series and the Burroughs A series before moving on to several other languages.

The Amiga and ST were a blast to program, but I still have a soft spot for the Atari 800 and Commodore 64.

Only need one reason to not vote for Radovid: Morrigan is not in the video.

They're all in my stash, and I haven't found another one after White Orchard. I see them on my map in the Baron's area and Novigrod, but I haven't gotten that far along yet. Been doing other stuff, though I'll probably tackle that tonight.

Unfortunately, thanks largely to the earlier portions of this thread, I already know pretty much the whole baron storyline.

Does not matter if you got spoiled in the Baron. The actual experience is not diminished because the whole plot is so powerful. So far that remained my most favorite questline and I have tons and tons to do in Novigrad before I start Skellige.

To be fair, every quest is a sort of mystery solving experience and there were a lot of people just chatting without spoiler tags. For someone that does care about spoilers, it does take away from the experience no matter how well it's visually presented.

True. But I should have said "in my case". I too was totally spoiled, but nothing like doing the work and experiencing it first hand. I was still mesmerised by it. I just had to youtube it because of how people talks about it. That was what pretty much sealed the deal of me playing this game.

Yeah I don't mind spoilers if I ask about it but I have this friend that knows we're playing the same game at the same time and she calls me up to spoil what's ahead. It's like she does it to get on my nerves. It's at that point that I get irritated.

It's more tolerable when I seek out the spoilers, because at that point I genuinely want to know immediately out of impatience what happens next? :P

Just have to remember to myself never to hang in mumble with her or answer her calls or even read her text messages when we're progressing in a just released game together.

I accidentally spoiled what happens with Ciri and that one guy that liked her and what happened at Kaer Morhen. The shame.

Quick, someone grab a bell and follow me through a densely populated city as I slowly walk naked.

There was a Weather program in BASIC published in The Dragon magazine to sim active conditions for the world setting. It was this program that helped to inspire me towards getting educated with the language. That was back between '83 - '86. It would be great to see the like updated for some current game, and have arrows miss a little due to high winds and other effects.

FWIW - The idea behind Frostfall for Skyrim is genius.

Ugh, I have a friend just like this. Sometimes I don't mind spoilers, but if I don't want them, I make a habit of telling my game-playing friends not to spoil. He will text me with..."OMG what did you think when >insert spoiler<!" He better be glad he is such a good friend in every other category or I would break his face.

I try not to spoil games for anyone here, but sometimes it's easy to forget. Doing something accidently can be overlooked, doing something because you have a big mouth and can't control yourself shouldn't be.

One thing I think Bioware could learn from CDPR is the issue of patches. We are now on patch 8 for W3 and the game has been out what 3 months. Where as Bioware took 2 months to get it first patch out.I think that has improved things for CDPR alot. Because they have not allowed prolbems to linger where as in DAI they did for months before patch 1 was released.

Careful, as I have read of problems created by TW3 patches which require later repair. It happens.... :

It happens with every single game. It would be unfair to single out either Bioware or CDPR for this. Fixing a problem in a piece of software is nearly always going to introduce a new problem or five of variable severity.

I'm glad I waited to play TW3, because I suspect some of the design decisions that were fixed would have driven me up the wall (weighted crafting materials and no stash, for example). No one can deny that CDPR seems to have been very diligent in addressing these issues in a timely fashion. Whether that means they were in the pipe beforehand versus being built from scratch post release (like I suspect Bioware's BE and stash were), I don't know.

Bioware's fixing things too, though. They've fixed a bunch of the control issues KBM players were having. The Black Emporium addressed a massive shortcoming with the game at release. The biggest problem I can think of that hit their patches was when the shaders and mesh settings got borked and everyone's visuals got screwed up, but they fixed that one quickly enough - not more than a day later.

On the other hand, they still haven't fixed the banter firing issue, as far as I know, which is mind boggling. Something that's so crucial to the charm and character of their game should have been priority one.

I am starting to think that the real problem with banter is that - there simply arent enough of them for a game this size. I searched youtube and let's play to check out banters because I feel that my companions are awfully quiet and I may not be getting all the banters. I later found out that I have actually heard all of them...

Initially, banters will only fire once. Then there was a patch that removes that. I am unfortunate enough to have that batting on "the chances of the Inquisitor's success" banter over and over for more than an hour. Finally kicked Verric and Dorian out of my party

Been playing DAI this 2 days, need to take my mind off TW3 : :P - I had 2 (repeating) banters after 6 hours of play

I don't think that's the case at all though. I have two full playthroughs under my belt, both between 80 and 100 hours.

Once I noticed the problem, I started counting in my first playthrough - over the course of the majority of the game (>50 hours of gameplay), I had less than 10 instances of banter firing. I had almost none in my second game, but I started using cheat engine to trigger it shortly after gaining Skyhold.

Thing is though, some people are claiming that they don't know what the problem is, they're swimming in banter. Maybe you're one of the lucky ones. There's definitely something fundamentally wrong with the way they're firing, though. They should have stayed with the environmental triggers (I assume that's what they used in DAO and DA2), and just peppered them liberally around the zones. That way you could say "Oh, hey, there's a bridge. I'm gonna get a banter."

For those that believe they may have missed something in the banter of DAI. Not certain if this is exhaustive or not, as I have not listened to all of it:

Now 5+ hrs of dialogue seems to be sizable amount, but that is my opinion.
