Yep, read it thoroughly, and choosing whether to have the snowball fight still determines whether Ciri is "dead" or not.

Try harder please.

Sorry Witcher fans, but this ... ... is still 100% accurate.

And you are also sure that if you haven't gotten the rest right you'd still get the exact same ending if you do the snowball fight.. right.

GAH

Jesus, even if you're trying not to read something, your brain just straight up zeroes in on something like "(name of important character) dies." C'mon.

We're done with spoiler tags for benefit of the guys who like both games, I guess.

Sorry about the spoiler.

I think the end point is that fans on either side of any argument are universally ridiculous.

What's more rediculous is when people have not played the game still tries to argue about things. That's just beyond me.

Have I mentioned BioWare or EA in my posts? Have I indicated that I dislike The Witcher 3 in any of my posts?

There's a middle ground between "line_genrou" and "Elhanan," and plenty of people here walk it. I probably point out something stupid and irredeemable about Bioware's and EA's choices at least twice an hour.

Something that I'm actively rectifying, so I think I'll say goodbye to this thread for the day.

I don't want anyone to spoil the twist that the Wild Hunt takes Geralt back in time to father himself with Ciri to prevent the second conjunction of the spheres in order to get the UFO ending or something.

Sorry that you got some stuff spoiled, that was not cool. Hopefully it won't ruin the game for you.

But you get suddenly very defensive when someone says something bad about DAI and even turns out to criticize TW3 just to "get back".

Never had my hard drive wiped by installing the updated Pool of Radiance game either, as I read about the problem beforehand. One does not have to purchase a product to know it is not good for them.

Sorry I was basing my opinion on what DA devs said. If you want to ignore everything they say and the dumbing down that happened over the games, be my guest.

It's interesting that the plot can be summarized with a screenshot from Mario Bros. and that the limited ending variation hinges on a snowball fight.

I'm sorry but that's quite stupid. Any game, or story for that matter, can be simplified in one or two sentence.

I havent finished TW3 but thanks for the heads up on what's coming...

(I don't really mind, honestly - only got a vague idea cause this snowball fight thing is just confusing me)

Now, I'm not that familiar with TW lore or finished any of the games. I've played TW3 for about 2-3 weeks, aprox 2-5 hours / day a couple days of week so I'm guessing I'm clocked at somewhere around 40-ish hours maybe. I'm a really slow when it comes to playing RPG's cause I tend to wander off and either do nothing important or attend sidequests and not really progress the main story... So I'm not really qualified to give any feedback on how the story of TW3 might be better than DAI's... That being said, the 40 ish hours I played, while I enjoyed I didn't get THAT much into. It's a matter of taste and I'll hold on to my right to say that. Sometimes some things just don't do it for you - other people like strawberries and other like blueberries (both are good, but there's no real use in fighting over which tastes better).

What I can say is that I do tend to agree with the fact that TW3 had better side quests which tied better with the story and were more thought out than corresponding ones in DAI. And more meatier and actually had impact on how the world is shaping up to be. Spoiler alert: If you didn't feed those refugees at the crossroads in the beginning of DAI, they'd still be there after Corypheus is defeated - still hungry maybe, but still alive ! And that's bad, if you ask me.

I'm not gonna start arguing over facts on where DAI did better cause posting that on this particular forum doesn't really affect anything. If I wanted to point out stuff that DAI did better I'd sign up for the Witcher forums... I'm pretty sure the discussion is the same over there with reversed roles even. Each side will have it's defenders and bickering over a snowball fight aint gonna change a damn thing.

But I can compare it to the other two...

DAI was the first DA I played (after playing 4 years of Skyrim) so I guess you could call me a noob or a casual... I play the stories on normal difficulty, or on hard occasionally, cause I enjoy the story and maybe like a little bit of a challenge every now and then. I don't think that the bigger issue with DAI for veteran DA players would even be the fact that it was supposedly dumbed down but the fact that it was more... childish is the wrong word, but for lack of a better one: more childish than DAO or DA2.

I picked up DAO/2 right after DAI and I was amazed at how different those games felt. There's mature and harsh content on DAI but I think it was a little bit glossed over when you compare it to DAO or DA2.

And when you compare DAI with TW3 the latter is by far more mature and maybe in that way more like the sequel everyone would've liked to see DAO have. That isn't saying DAI is the worse game though, cause it's a matter of taste.

I, for one, hope that they polish DA4 a little bit more and maybe make it a bit more mature - but also sure as hell don't hope that they jump on TW3-bandwagon when they need to jump back on the DAO-bandwagon (as has been said in this topic previously)...

Probably should make my exit from this topic for a few weeks again and come see how the conversation fares as a social experiment :P

Back on topic, I propose a drinking game wherein we take a small sip of light beer everytime Elhanan posts some variation of this and see who dies of alcohol poisoning first.

It'll go fast, I promise.

Spoiler

Erm, I think you're a bit too obsessed with the snowball fight though. In order to get the bad ending you need to make 3 negative decisions. Period. You have 5 chances, meaning you can do the snowball fight and then choose 3 out of the other 4 decisions and still get the bad ending. You can not do the snowball fight and then choose another 2 bad decisions to get the bad ending. What part of "3 out of 5" don't you understand? The snowball fight is just an option out of the 5, it's no more determinant than the other options. I'm seriously confused on what point you're trying to make. This whole fuss is just because it's a snowball fight? Do you even know the meaning behind that moment? It's there to show the bond between Geralt and Ciri, it's there if you want to be a good parent to her, help her get her mind off things. What's so ridiculous about the snowball fight to you? Sheesh...
