Guys, which do you think is the best ending for Ciri?

On one hand, I like the bittersweet ending of her becoming empress. Also if I don't talk to her about going to go see Emhyr it feel like Geralt is hiding from her that choice.

 

On another hand, I also like the witcher ending for her because it feels like this is where her heart really is, BUT like I said, if I don't bring her to Emhyr it feels like Geralt is choosing her fate for her instead of showing her her options.

 

Ciri becomes a witcher + Temeria independent vessel of Nilfgaard + Radovid dead feels too much of a perfect happy ending for the Witcher series. I just feel like the bittersweet ending fits more with the theme of the game. Seems more appropriate.

Witcher Ciri is the best for Ciri and Geralt. Empress Ciri is the best for everyone else it seems. Plus if you read any of the books or played any of the previous games people should know Geralt is around nobles and rulers all the time. It doesn't have to mean he won't be around Ciri anymore.  Heck for an entire winter he made time in a rulers court, dating a sorceress in the books and did plenty of witcher contracts while there.

Emhyr burned Ciri's home to the ground, had her grandmother brutally executed, is the reason that Ciri's mother is dead and for decades plans to force Ciri to have his child, through trickery or force. Only later does he decide against forcing his daughter to marry him and have his child. Geralt knows all of this too. Telling Ciri she shouldn't go and see her father seems perfectly reasonable given the circumstances. For one Geralt has no reason to trust that Emhyr (who ordered him and Yennifer executed at one point) doesn't have some new plan to get Ciri pregnant. And two, even if his reasons are exactly what it seems, Geralt knows it's a life she never wanted from a very young age and she actively ran from it. Just look at her at the Empress end, she is in tears as she gets ready to go on to a life she always hated and leaves the one she picked for herself and loved and the people that became her family after her old one was destroyed.

How is Temeria becoming a vassal a happy ending? One Northern state becomes a lap dog whilst Redania, Kaedwen, Aedirn, Cidaria, Kerrack, Verden, Lyria & Rivia being slaughtered is a good ending?

 

No way. Radovid winning and finally getting rid of the mage oppression is the only ending for me.

I was on the Radovid hype train since the Witcher 2 and I refuse to get off it. 

 

But he is the best option.

The blackones invading Kaedwen and Redania will result in far more deaths than Radovid could manage (The Witch Hunts only last 4 years and there are only 3000 mages in the North, more people probably died at White Orchid.) And in the case of Dijkstra, someone who recently helped abolish monarchy forcing rapid industrialisation? Where have I seen that before? I'm sure it will go well.

Not to mention Radovid's wife is Foltest's eldest daughter and rightful Queen of Temeria who will almost certainly end up with her head on a pike if you murder her husband.

I don't think Radovid going on a killing spree is a good ending. There's no peace, just slaughter because of his mentor issues. Also, with him in power Yen and Triss are in danger.

The game tells you the north is at peace when Nilfgaard wins and Ciri becomes Empress.

you're saying the game is hiding the truth from the epilogue?

Dijkstra says there are only 3 or 4 thousand mages in the North, Nilfgaardian armies invading Kaedwen and Redania slaughtering armies burning villages and sacking cities is going to add to a kill count of far more than 4 thousand. Dijkstra going full Stalin is likely going to add up to more than that too.

Added to this is the fact that the Witch Hunts only last 4 years whilst Nilfgaardian occupation of the North will last decades. How many Nordlings trying for freedom are going to die in that time?

But this is a game that tries to sell a girl who is responsible for millions of deaths becoming Empress of a nation responsible for million of deaths because Roche betrays every country in the North so that his own can have a jewelled Nilfgaardian collar as a 'bitter sweet' ending. So I'm not sure what to expect.

Yes. There where a bunch of free DLC from DAI.. but at the end of the day company's want to make money it's simple more money they make better the game will be. And Witcher 3 DLC was free yes but most was cosmetic.

Bioware/EA charge for armour packs and cosmetic changes, with the exception of Black Emporium, but CDPR have given away three alternative look packs, three complete armour packs (including horse armour), four new quests, a scavenger hunt, a weapon pack, a second gwent deck, new beards & hairstyles for Geralt, new finishing moves and will be bringing new game plus out soon. All things Bioware/EA would probably charge at least £5 for.

Also if you had read at least part of the thread you would see this is not a straight forward comparison thread, it's a suggestion thread. The vast majority of us have played both games and enjoyed DAI, but were disappointed by the huge empty world and very high number of empty fetch quests. Hence most people here have been suggesting what they would like to see for DA4, which you would have seen if you read at least some of the thread

I killed him. Sure they tried to cheat him but he didn't just go after the ones that attacked him, he butcherd the whole village. And it's probably not the first time either (as Geralt says when confronting him). Witchers like him just makes life harder for the rest of them.
