Funny thing about Yennefer and Triss. Yen is the one true love of Geralt in my opinion and I'll always choose her, but I also like Triss very much. I always thought of her as the sweet girl and complete opposite of Yen. I just finished my second playthrough am while I'm waiting for the NG+ I'm trying to read all the books. I'm almost finishing the Blood of Elves and I'm not sure how I'm feeling about Triss now.

Spoiler

Wait till "Time of contempt" then you will see her true color. As for Yenna, do read "a shard of ice", it is beautiful.

Have you read the short stories? Yen is also your average power abusing mage. Geralt is better off alone.

I'm beginning to see Inquisition in a different light as more DLC's are released. It had a weak main story, but the overall experience has been much what the Inquisition was created to do. We're learning a massive amount of lore that tells us something new about the world of Thedas. Old conceptions of the races are changing, even though we're left with cliffhangers. That means we can expect more changes in the next game.

The Witcher games will always have to depend on the original books on the nature of its lore. That's good for players who have read the books or expect certain conflicts to happen. We'll always be playing Geralt in the end. He's like an old glove you put on when the right season returns.

Yen gets blinded and a black'un dies.

A win-win situation if ever I've seen one.

Dream on bro. :P

Are you saying it's going to get worse? Oh maaan... lol I don't want to hate her! I did read shard of ice, I've read the first two books already. I'm reading them by the correct order.

I'm not saying Yen is any better than Triss. But from things I've read around the internet, I always got the impression that, relationship with Yen: pain and abuse everywhere. And relationship with Triss: happiness, fluff, etc. But it's not that simple. There are moments where Yen can be mean and selfish but there are also moments where she can be sweet and loving. I mean, yes, his relationship is way more complicated with Yen because of her complicated personality but in the end they love each other. While with Triss, she just seems desperate to get Geralt in bed when she knows he doesn't want to. It's just... weird and I was not expecting it, I guess. And from what I'm seeing, Yen gets a bit softer after meeting Ciri, not sure how it will affect her relationship with Geralt but I can only imagine it will improve. I guess I'll have my final opinion on this once I read all the books. Either way, I'm excited!

edit: I feel like they made Triss more likable, sweet and innocent on the games and made Yen just as she is on the books and that of course will have people who don't know the whole thing care more about Triss and think Yen is a b*tch. But as I read through the books I'm starting to think she's just as bad or even worse than Yen.

Thanks to certain dyed red head hag :), things get much much worse. But also you will see how brave, independent and selfless devoted Yenna is towards Ciri and Geralt. P.S. "Time of contempt" is the best in series I think.

Triss is really naive, she is a 50 year old woman with brain of a 15 year old girl. I wouldn't say anything about her is malicious. Yen on the other hand is just an arse. I hate her arrogance and her my way or the highway attitude.

Both regularly abuse their powers, like all mages. I hate that too.

My honest opinion on them both.

Deathstruck, you should get off the forum and go watch Princess Bride today.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it might be one of the most timeless, relevant films ever made. Also one of the funniest and definitely the source of a bunch of forum memes you've seen a million times in the past.

I went with this too. All they do is use and abuse him.  Geralt deserves someone loving, someone who cares.

I have a feeling she's more than naive. In fact, I think she plays dumb a lot. I haven't gotten far on the books but I've read some spoilers about her that, if true, I won't see her the same way.

Spoiler

But after knowing this, I just don't like how the game makes her look like this perfect girl while at the same time shows the worst side of Yen. Most of the players, not having read the books and not knowing Yen's past will obviously think of her as a manipulative b*tch that only thinks of herself and doesn't care about anyone else. But well, it's life. I think Yen is that kind of character that you either love or hate.

In other news, when does NG+ comes out? I thought it was going to be shortly after the new patch. I miss the game already and want to start a new playthrough.  :P Even though I'm trying to read all the books before I do. We'll see.

Apparently, we wont be always be playing him after this. But I get your point. There's nothing more annoying than ever changing lores to fit the writer's moods. This last dlc for example hits me like mad, but that's just probably because I am such a big Warden fan and was really into the original lores of DAO. Nothing shocking than Wardens burning villages to the ground for fear of more taint spreading. Even in dao when none of your companions gets tainted is a bit jarring. But I boil it down to the fact that 2 GWs probably set preventive measures. And the wardens always fight in front.

Now, any random mooks can just shimmy down there. Specially when there's apparently waves of waves of darkspawns for the party to fight and not one getting tainted without a single Warden.

Rant over. Don't mind me I'm just sore over something something and then something irl.

OT: Yeah lores. Please stick tighter to your lores.

Regretfully, I haven't!

It doesn't seem to be that known in my country (Czechia) which is why it escaped my attention, but I keep hearing good things about it (or at least, I keep seeing all the memes floating around :P ).

I guess I could give it a try.

I don't know.

I like both Dragon Age Inquisition and Witcher 3. They are very different from each other.

Dragon Age Inquisition is clean and innocent, but still has a good story and great graphics and characters. There is a bit more 'fanfare' in general. Where are the poor people in DAI?

Witcher 3 is more to the dark side, more raw and filled with realism and bad destinies. Almost never a happy end plus an overall sexual tone.

So, you can't really say what better or not. It's a personal matter. Dream and illusion?

There is only one single thing I can say is better in Witcher 3: The realism in the nature and sorroundings.
I don't think I have ever seen such well made environments anywhere else. I enjoy walking the nature in W3 a lot.

Oh no, I forgot one very important thing: Ciri

Oh, Johnny. Every game needs a Johnny. Triss and Geralt are going to adopt him, you know. Well, at least in my own personal headcanon--if I invested in that sort of thing. Also! let us not forget Bart and Trollolo! Those scamps.

On an ending note: Stop dissin' Triss, people. I don't appreciate that sort of negativity. :P

I actually think CDPR upped BioWare in that department this time around. It has been a long while since I felt more brotherhood with a group of characters than I did with Lambert and Eskel, for instance.
