I have not played DA:I in months, really not interested on any of the DLC neither, i have ben seriously spoiled by witcher 3 that i fear even fall out 4 will come shortly XD

I don't know, Fallout 4 sounds pretty danged amazing to.  I don't think it will be as good as The Witcher 3 but I have no doubt it will keep me occupied for quite some time.

They aren't darkspawn, but dwarves wearing tan pajamas below their black geometric 'lyrium' armour. They don't talk but only growl a bit, but then again, they drink lyrium. It does save on the voice acting budget, heheh :D.

The whole Titans thing does remind a bit too much about WoW and its Titans, though I'm sure Bio will file off the seria..., eh, think up its own totally different 'cool' lore.

They didn't think up any new lore though.  They just said, here's the titan, now see ya later.  That DLC didn't explain but two things, jack and ****, and jack left town.

Thanks, unfortunately pretty much stuck with it for the rest of my life, some days are worse than others, but such is life. :)

I am a bit confused about the Fallout games, are they rpgs or shooters?  My reflexes are very poor so I tend to die while trying to aim then shoot, unless I can hide behind stuff like in the Mass Effect games, so I avoid shooters.

Well yeah they had gunpowder but machine guns that fires and looks like that?? C'mon, when I played Origins I did not in a million years ever thought I'd ever see a machine gun like that. Did you? You could call it color or even jesus, but some of us don't see it that way.

And what's those guns got to do with seeing the big picture? Did you think there's a whole lot of lore to be learned from those machine guns?

Don't the Qunari only use their black powder on their ships?  I never remember hearing them actually making guns out of the stuff.

Dwarves have been using lyrium as an explosive for a long time. If these dwarves are more resistant to lyrium than their fellows, it makes sense to use it for weapons.

Big picture from the guns: don't assume anything.

This isn't LotR and it isn't the Witcher. Bioware is not trying to slavishly emulated any given time period on Earth.

To paraphrase from the creator of Babylon 5 'the game you think you're playing isn't the game you're playing.'

In B5's case the show started out seeming bland kinda Star Trek clone sci fi. Then it took a major zag about second season (which was quietly set up in the first) and became something extremely unexpected. And very good.

It's the same here. Don't assume anything at this point. Origins was the straight forward introduction, DA 2 shook the world up enough for us to start seeing the cracks here in DAI. This is where we're probably going to see that everything we thought we knew about Thedas is wrong, or at least partially so.

And as for the guns. If Bianca could get her hands on gun powder, what do you think she'd be able to do with it. Considering what she managed to do with a crossbow. And her let's see what I can do without considering the consequences attitude.

I don't remember it perfectly, but the only thing I remember her wanting to change is making the throne hereditary.  And that's never a good thing because you never know what kind of terrible people your kids will end up being.  She herself was capable of some pretty horrible crap.

Hjallmar was a bit of an idiot I agree, but Cerys is a pretty good queen.

It is an RPG.  They do have shooting in them, but the game has this system called V.A.T.S., where you pause the game and you can cycle through body parts to aim at.  And if you aim at, and hit, an arm, they will drop their weaopon, or if you hit them in the leg, it will slow them down.  Pretty cool.  Though I think they changed it a bit in FO4 where instead of freezing everything they slow it down to a crawl.

If only that thing looks anything like crossbows or balistae I would not see any problems with it.

Yes I know about how the game can change with the writer's mood, seen that a lot in DAI. Those machine guns might not be machine guns, but right now from where I am sitting it is a machine gun. It fires like one and even sound like one when they cocked it.. almost.

And there's a time and place for everything. DAO and guns, if they're guns, is not something I can imagine being together. So that's where you and me differ, it seems.that you are fine with guns in DAverse, and that's absolutely fine. I however am not.

To paraphrase from the creator of Babylon 5 'the game you think you're playing isn't the game you're playing.'.

So let's say they introduce a space ship, you're ok with that as long as they can whip up a chewable lore?

Edit: Just watched the video again and I stand corrected. It does not sound anything like a normal machine gun. Actually sounds and fires almost like the starwars gun. Suddenly the spaceship doesn't sound so unrealistic anymore.

Don't know how its going to be in Fallout 4 but if Fallout 3, New Vegas, and even Skyrim are indicators, Bethesda seems to really like melee. Just build you a brawler or melee weapon user with stealth. Use explosives when you need to work at range. If the Obsidian writers were on this project, I'd tell you to focus on your Charisma and speaking skills because they're generally good about letting you talk your way through a game.

They're really not any kinds of gun, though. They're more like Bianca, but super enhanced with Lyrium, which has always had a mysterious nature. Sure, they're over the top with regards to style, but dwarves have always been known to come up with crazy machinations, particularly with Lyrium. Conceptually, they're not any more ridiculous than Golems.

You know something is bad if your defense begins with..."It isn't any more ridiculous than...." If the adjective is pejorative and used as both the complaint and defense, a wrong turn has been taken. :P

Ridiculous is a relative term, lol. I'm not really asserting that Golems are ridiculous. I would never complain about the existence of Shale!

Agreed, but I also I lament the absence of Golems, in general. I would've liked to have seen a few as enemies in the Descent.

I would have liked that myself. I actually liked them. Shale was a really awesome character and I was hoping she would make a comeback in DAI-- if just for a little part.

Just realized one thing that Dragon age could learn from Witcher 3, or the previous Dragon age games for that matter. Background music. Wether you are in combat or just exploring in Witcher 3 there is background music that sets the mood. For example, the music when you are sailing in Skellige enhances the experience of sailing on the open seas so much. Just to experiment i tried doing some exploring on the seas in Witcher 3 without music for a while and it really wasn't the same thing.

Background music makes the world feel more alive. In DA:I all you hear when you explore is footsteps. I bet the experience of exploring would have been a lot better in DA:I if there was background music that sets the mood.

Yes indeed. And specially if you got hit by the banter bug like me then it's a very lonely adventure.

Last night I did the quest where Yen animated a corpse, and the whole time she treats Geralt like a 5 yr old. She's so bitchy, she makes Morrigan look like a kitten and I'm really beginning to despise her. To top it all she's not seem remotely sorry for what she did.
