I just got the ending where Ciri becomes Empress. That goodbye with Geralt was heartbreaking. The look on his face when he realizes the Emperor's men have come for her. Not going to lie... a tear may have formed.

DAI had a lot of sad moments, but hardly any felt personal to the Inquisitor. I remember playing my first playthrough with my human and I kept expecting her to talk about the family she lost at the Conclave and nothing. Would have made a great moment.

Anyway, the Empress ending may be my favorite.

 

I actually prefer the Witcher one as my canon, but I do think that ending was the most well done. It's pretty much the epitome of bittersweet. That final panning shot, the music...had a very 'Frodo saying farewell to Sam at the Grey Havens' feel to it. ;_;

I was watching a friend play and saw the "suicidal ending". It was a gut punch. I never want to touch that ending. 

 

Actually, I like the Witcher ending better, too. It feels like Ciri is doing what she wants to do and living her own life. It's just that goodbye scene in the Empress ending...

I loved it when you took Ciri to Vizima and she reached down and squeezed Geralt's hand. There are so many great moments in this game. Lots of touchy feels.

I never got them on my new pc. But last night I was playing on my 5 yr old laptop because I'm travelling right now. So if I accidentally drop it, it wont hurt too much

I wonder if they added higher tier weapon and armor drops? It would certainly make sense to, I wonder what else will be "better". Oh well, time to start another playthrough! This will be my third.

She does go a little far.  Though...considering Ciri is the only one that can stop the white frost....looking at it from a purely logical point of view...I think it was worth the risk.

If I had a kid in terrible danger, I'd slaughter an entire village if it meant keeping her safe. Awful, I know, but it's just that I feel that's what I would do, it's the first thought that popped in my head when that situation arose in the game.

To be fair if you read the books you'd probably change your mind. Triss took advantage of Geralt's amnesia to sleep with him betraying her friend Yen in the process. Yen is essentially a victim of players having never met her and her being naturally cold towards Geralt for betraying her.

 

But yeah, I totally prefer Triss myself. I'll always pick the Betty over the Veronica even if the Veronica in this case is the hottest video game character I've ever seen (its her style that clenches it) and the Betty has a dark manipulative streak.

 

Yes because Geralt doesn't sleep around with every maiden, sorcereress and prostitute in Novigrad and Skellige if you let him even with his memory back.  I don't think Triss would have had to do to much work even if he had his memory back when they were sleeping together.

Reasons of state is the worst quest in the game, by far. Everyone involved is either a moron or really out of character, or both.

-Vernon 'mark my words Temeria will be free' Roche decides that making Temeria free is too much effort. Lets just betray all of our neighbours for a fancy collar instead.

-Ves 'The only good black one is a dead black one' supports Roche's plan to surrender to NIlfgaard.

-Dijkstra turns into a Jame Bond villain, and tries to fight Geralt and some Temerian special forces, even though in the books he got his ass handed to him by an unarmed Geralt alone while he had twice as many men.

-Radovid falls for the worst plan ever, and then shits himself at the site of Phillipa, even though he stares down a dragon in the second game. Also the best way to defeat a mage is by getting close, all he had to do was punch her in the face and leg it.

 

Best to avoid that awful quest, by not killing the one true king and saviour of the North.

Yeah, I was disappointd with Roche, Ves, and Dijkstra in that quest.  Though, I don't think Dijkstra was necessarily out of character in backstabbing Roche and Ves like that.  He is a total Redanian patriot after all.  The only out of character thing for him to do there was not wait until Geralt was out of the way.  That was just stupid of him.

 

Hmm, let's try a coup when the most bad ass Witcher in the world is standing right in front of me and might not go along with what I want to do.  

 

I hated killing him though in my first playthrough.

It is what it is and he fell in love with Triss in the process. Her love for him changed her and in him she found redemption. It's my headcanon and I am sticking with it. amirite?

I can't wait until they add the extra scenes with Triss. I just had a PT where I romanced Yenn and there was a lot of intimate moments. Would be nice to share those with Triss.

 

Also, I may be wrong about extra content--I think I remember reading something about how they're going to tweak dialog and some other stuff, but I think it will be more interaction--for instance when she is on the ship and you try to talk to her and she's all like, "Well?", they'll probably add some conversation. Not sure what they'll do, but I am excited to find out.

Yes, they are. The official statement is somewhere in this thread, but I am sure if you search for it in their forums you'll find it.

People were complaining that they didn't have enough scenes with Triss-- as much as Yennifer had. CDPR acknowledged that it was a oversight on their end and they were going to fix it.

Since Marcin has updated you a little, I'd like to add a bit to that, since apparently some people seem to believe this particular issue is getting preferential treatment.

Here is the thing. The major thing. I know it's gonna be a shock to some but...we are not perfect. (LEGASP!!!!!)

The biggest issue that we as a team identified with the Triss situation is that the current implementation does not really represent the very core design philosophy we hold dear. Namely, that your choices carry consequences and those consequences WILL present themselves to you.

As it has been stated in the opening thread, the consequences of choosing Triss are not adequately represented. This was something that was brought to our attention by this thread. We went back and looked at it again and realized that yes, this is indeed an inconsistency and one that deserves our attention. So we sat down, took our notes from your suggestions and checked what is viable to do. The result of that is what you will eventually see.

To the people who are somehow annoyed that we will correct the inconsistent consequences that are currently present in the Triss romance I say this: Please understand that this is not a case of us changing something simply because fans want it. This is because fans alerted us to something which we, internally, discussed (hence the long silence in between replies) and eventually agreed that it did not fit our core philosophy of including consequences to the choices the player can make.

In any case, I hope this clears things up a bit and puts a rest to the infighting about which issue deserves what kind of attention.

I presume there are no changes in appearance, it'd just be too much considering how detailed these armors are.

Oh your absolutely right.  I love Triss to and my Geralt absolutely adores Triss.  One of my absolute favorite moments of the entire game.

When Geralt is about to say goodbye to Triss on the Novigrad docks, he tells her, "I love you", and she just gives him a funny look at first and walks away.  Geralt turns all sad eyed back to Dijkstra and he starts telling that story of his.  Then he stops and says, "Geralt...turn around".  And there she is.  

 

Absolutely wonderful moment and my heart leapt for joy when that happened.

Does anybody know if I need the mastercrafted "non-NG+" version of the item to upgrade it to the basic legendary one or if I can create it from the scratch?
