Just downloaded NG+ on PC. It seems it requires you to create a manual save after completing the main storyline and after installing NG+ DLC - you'll get a popup message telling you that any save game you create from now on will be suitable for NG+. Then, when you start a new game, it will ask you whether you'd like to activate NG+ and lets you pick your savegame. No new "NG+" option appears on the main menu, you have to use the normal "New Game" one.

So can someone explain to me: with NG+ will all quests/side-quests/monster level up to your level? because it's kinda lame to be level 37 fighting monsters level 4. I don't see the point of NG+ if there's absolutely no challenge whatsoever.

That's awesome to hear. I just hope it's forthcoming soon... I'm mostly finished with the Novigrad stuff, I think.
Spoiler
I assume there's a bit of a lull in her stuff (and I guess I'm gonna meet up with Yennefer in Skellige), but I'd really like to continue on with it as soon as I can.
Also - to open a can of worms, I'm certain...
The presentation, execution, and attention to fine detail of this game is goddamn near flawless. It's the best designed open world RPG I've ever played. The fact that it's so good makes the absence of some details all the more glaring. So... Where the dwarf and halfling women at?
That should be a prime "How To Don't" from Bioware's ham-handed handling of this stuff in Mass Effect (obviously it was also an issue in DA2, but there were lots of important things sacrificed at the altar of cost control in DA2). So why are there tons of dwarves running around Novigrad and other areas, but not a single woman? It's dumb in Bioware's games, it's dumb here, too. Is there some hackneyed lore justification to explain it?
Actually you do see some female elves, in the outskirts of Novigrad, in the ports and in the brothels, though they are indeed more scarce. But you just made me realize, I don't remember ever seeing a female dwarf in all Witcher games....weird. Reminds me of the absence of female turians until Nyreen. Maybe in the expansion ?
You should really go to Skellige, it's easily the best area to visit, imo. The music and the sights are just fantastic ! Plus, dat Scottish accent ![]()

yeah - nah, elves are, predictably, all over the place. I was specifically talking about dwarves and halflings. Would have liked to see Eudora at long last. Maybe get her away from her jerk family and chase a happy ending with Zoltan. But a lack of representation in places that are otherwise crawling with dwarves (Vergen in TW2, for example) is just jarring.
I'm really excited for Skellige, fwiw.

The Dwarves are supposed to be really creepily over protective about their women. Locking them away so humans can't steal them and weird **** like that. I don't think we actually see a female dwarf in the books either tbh.
Gnomes have no such excuse though.

But that doesn't even make sense...
Nilfgaard has occupied CDPR's offices and is now forcing them to produce propaganda confirmed.
Oh and...

p.s. I love our political campaigns hah.
I just got out of White Orchard, and before the spoiler tags.. I play like a tortoise.
Can someone tell me how to succeed at Gwent? I'm awful.

My method thus far has been to start stabbing people whenever gwent seems to be barring my story progression. It's been reasonably effective.

Gwent rules everything. Even Eredin plays it. Ithlline's prophecy said that whoever masters Gwent will end the White frost. If you don't play Gwent, you'll get the worst ending possible.

Well, then. Consider my observation entirely withdrawn.
Is she under a sheet like the sole krogan in ME2?

Her lower half is. You also learn that beards cannot be used to differientiate between male and female Dwarves.

How many gwent games have you played so far? It's all about practice too. I was terrible on my first few games but now I rarely lose, even against NPCs that have better cards than me. You just have to understand what each card does and when's the right time to use them and then you'll kick those NPCs butts.

Wow thanks. Interesting read, I wonder how and when will it be delivered.
I hope it isn't too far away. CDPR works really hard to get things out quickly, but since NG+ is out, I want to play again and I also want the new Triss stuff. Hopefully, since it's already up for datamining, it is close--but I don't know enough about that stuff to make a determination.
Oh just an aside for you guys complaining about guns in an ancient culture in Dragon Age, and how that doesn't happen in fantasy... Might I direct your attention to one of the biggest selling fantasy franchises there is?

Genetics, anti gravity etc... But of course we're going to complain about such a simple thing as a gun.

Yeah, it's no big deal. Just load the "finished game", manually save over it, then load up a NG+ and choose that file. Easy peasy.

I've been reading different articles regarding the announcement that the Redkit is not coming (as of now). Many people seem angry and disappointed that the Modkit is the only support, especially considering CDPR said " We are looking to release the REDkit sometime after the game launches". Then again, they said "looking to" and it was said in January 2014. Another interesting point is that Witcher 2 had REDkit...and absolutely nothing was done, like nada. Projects were made but all were abandoned.
In the end, I think people are kind of right to be angry as CDPR said they were "looking to" do something and didn't deliver, not fully. But I also understand why as it clearly didn't seem worth it with Witcher 2. All I gotta say, be careful with what you say, a mistake Bioware bit the dust with ME3. And CDPR now needs to be careful what with the visual downgrade and now not delivering REDkit, their community seems to be more wary now.

The outsized reaction to this little chestnut pretty much solidified my conviction that CDPR's status as golden child simply cannot last forever, no matter what great heights they achieve.
Gamers as a whole tend to just be too unreasonable and insane.

As I said in another thread, I think we will get the proper Redkit when all the dlc/expansions are out. Aside from wanting the starter witcher gear that I could use longer, so far I'm enjoying the game as it is. I hope someone can make that with this basic kit.
I really hope so, though by that point I'm afraid it will get the Witcher 2 treatment and everyone will have moved on. Plus Fallout 4 probably will keep most modders busy.

If I remember correctly in the quest where you try to find the serial killer the coroner/Dr whatever he is states that female dwarves have beards if you examine the wrong dwarf body...
Not sure about halflings....

I suck at gwent no matter what I do and I seriously hate the merchants with Monster or Scoi'tel decks.
