From the Announcement Thread (emboldened my doing):

Holy freaking crap.  They're gonna continue to allow things like the Drinkquisition, which is full of people that openly mock those who are critical of Dragon Age.  Wow...just freaking wow.  They couldn't more openly say that they are attacking those critical of the game unless they actually said the words.

Okay, I saw the part about allowing threads that compare DA to other games, such as this one, but even so, I can't help but wonder how long it is gonna take before we see them go the same way.

Never been there; don't drink.

Am guessing it has to do with the lack of a Community Mgr, and the current mods are overworked.

You're reading it entirely out of context in least charitable way possible. They've also said that they'll keep Twitter thread in the very same sentence - simply because they're big and popular. They've also said that those that will drive stuff further off-topic, even in those threads, will receive warnings and so on.

I don't even follow Twitter thread so I have no idea what the Twitter thread is even like.  But I did read further down to see them mention things like threads will remain and edited my post.  I am still highly wary of this whole entire thing though.  Allowing the Drinkquisition to remain as well makes me so.

Same way I don't follow Drinquisition - yet I do follow Twitter thread, and it's mostly harmless, oftentimes informative and there are attempts for it to keep it on track most of the time.

They aren't going to punish people who attack critics. It's natural to be more hesitant toward abusive apologists of your product than abusive critics. I think a crack down is coming to force any off topic discussions at least readily accessible from their website to avoid discussing or promoting other games.

I don't follow Drinkquisition either, but I checked it out once and yeah...that was enough.

Just got back to Yen's room to drop some stuff off, noticed the unicorn's gone. I hope that means she got the hint.

I think I had a playthrough once, or I saw my roomate have a playthrough where they chose Bhelen, Harrowmont submitted, and Bhelen executed him anyway.

Oh yikes. I guess on Bhelen's men fight to the death.

With a few of my Mage Wardens, I go ahead and nuke the entire Assembly with SotC; now THAT is reform.... :D

I really like the elven Elder Speech in the Witcher series.

Spoiler

Dunno how developed it is (in the books) but it sounds pretty awesome all the same. It would be even cooler if the NPCs speaking it did it in their normal voice; damn those voice-changing Wild Hunt helmets.

And on the topic of elves, it's pretty hard building a Scoia'tael gwent deck. Dunno if I had as much trouble my first time around... Maybe NG+ is plotting against me. The Northern Realms deck is pretty buff - especially by the end, but I go bored of using it and steamrolling everyone. I wanna enter the gwent tournament with muh squirrels, but unless there's a cache of 'em somewhere I might have to end up using Nilfgaard.

In the books, the Elder Speech is a fully developed language, with all the bells and whistles that come with it.

Completely, as in fully developed with vocabulary, grammar etc. Tolkien-style?

It always sounded like a mish-mash of Welsh mixed with English/Dutch-Low German/High German (and no doubt some other languages)  to me...

Tbh, I never wore any gear other than witcher gear after a certain level, so I can't answer the part about normal gear being upgraded. As for NG+, there is a Legendary upgrade for witcher armors, so might want to tuck your witcher gear in the stash if you want to keep them for that.

For sure

One day we'll come here and this thread will be closed/deleted. We should take precaution

With the feedback section gone from the main page I thought I was banned or something from seeing it LOL

I wonder if someone from BioWare/EA will come out with some pretty speech soon.

It is. Sapkowski especially seems to love Welsh insults. :P

Conal clarified that threads like this may continue unmolested, fwiw.

And they capitulated on the OT nuke quickly enough, looks like. Seems like it would have been a better idea to run changes like this by the userbase first, but what do I know?

EDIT: derp. I guess it's just read only, now.
