Man, if I had a nickel for every time when some dumb-ass doesn't differentiate between a full fledged expansion (or datadisk, as they're called in my country) and a tiny DLC, I would be a freaking millionaire, especially on this forum. I should save that response solely for those moments.
Thank you for reposting it! You're class act, lady.
D'aww, thanks.
This is another bit for those wondering about the future of TW3 and the future of the series as a whole.
EDIT: If they're any mistakes in spelling, etc. it's my fault and not GameInformer's, since I am typing it from the magazine article. I tried to catch them, but you know how it goes.

Pfft. The light of the eternal fire will smite all the creatures of darkness.

Bah...!!
I can understand Triss being one of the evil orcs about to get crushed under horses and all...
I mean she lied to my Geralt in Witcher 2! Curse her.

And TheOgre.
Though, I did lose it at Rad the Lad's head on Gandalf's body on that other gif. Too funny.
Also, after hours and hours and hours upon the sea and searches online, I have yet to find a mermaid in TW3. I am wondering if that wasn't an early concept of a siren, perhaps and there never was a mermaid.
Yeah, only skills embedded into the talent tree will have an effect. So if you replace a tier 1 with a tier 2, only the effect of Tier 2 will be active.
Yeah that was one of the very few things I didn't like about TW3. When I spend a point on something I wanna have it available all the time. I think a better use for the mutagens would be that we pick a few abilities, and the mutagen would give those specific abilities a boost.
Wear strong armor? Pfft, don't look at the stats - it's all about appearance! Fashion
SoulsWitcher is where it's at. Hmm... Needs a better name. Fashion Hunt? I dunno.
And yeah, wraiths suck big time.
You sound like my roomate. When we used to play WoW together she got these leg armor that looked like daisy duke shorts. She refused to take those things off for the longest freaking time.
Yeah I saw that on GI and it made me so happy. So glad that game is doing so well. ![]()
Wow, 6 million copies !
Very, very impressive. I just read that Witcher 1 and 2, combined, sold 8 million. Witcher 3 has almost reached that point alone. What a breakthrough for CDPR. Hopefully the company will evolve in the right direction.
And not sell out to a soul sucking, franchise destroying publisher. Not naming any names or anything. ![]()

It was cut, there are a few things that have been an elven squirell is missing too. :/

Time to ruin this goodwill.
Thank you so much for sharing, especially for taking the time to type it all up. I am really looking forward to the expansions, I read over at CDPR's forum that one adds about 10 hours and the bigger one something like 20 hours.D'aww, thanks.

Looking forward to Cyberpunk too, seen some speculation that Ciri may have been talking about the Cyberpunk world in one of her scenes with Geralt, could be cool to see her pop up in that world or find some sign of her having been there. I will certainly pre-order it as soon as I can just to keep supporting a great bunch of devs who know how to treat their fans!
You're welcome!
Yeah, I had an inkling that Ciri was talking about Cyberpunk's world, too. It would be awesome to see something Ciri related in Cyberpunk's world and I am certainly going to be looking for it. I will also be pre-ordering it, as well.
I am still wondering what he meant by having something up their sleeves to do with TW3 that they can't talk about, yet. Hopefully more goodies that we don't know about.

They did have a early prototype for ice-skating, maybe they'll bring it back, who knows?

... I shall respond with an appropriate gif later.
Awesome new with CDPR cracking 6 million.
it makes a damn good case for BW to take a good long look at when designing DA4.
The only thing I'd ask is for BW to keep playable races in game. I decided to become a backer for D: OS 2 and I notice they're adding playable races with Origin stories next time around as well. So very much looking forward to that.
I want different races but they need origins to make them more personal... seriously dai did so little to differentiate the experience.

'The theme of Divinity: Original Sin 2 is how your origins affect who you are and what chances you get in life.
At the start of the game, you pick a single character and determine your starting stats, race, and origin story.'
A little OT, but apparently in Divinity: Original Sin II your 'origins' are going to play a big part, there might even be playable 'origin' stories in it... Here's the Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstar...-original-sin-2. From the Kickstarter page: In general, the game's tone and visual style appears to be more serious than the first game. Hope they can pull it off. Who knows, if they are successful it might 'bleed back' into DA. Who knows?
Here's an open letter from the Head of CD PROJEKT RED regarding the 6 million sold units of The Witcher 3:
Hey Gamers!
Time does fly! These few months since launch passed faster than you can say potestaquisitor. We’ve been hard at work delivering you new content, fixing what needed to be fixed, and secretly plotting how to rock this boat we call the RPG genre even more. We’ve just concluded our shareholder conference where we announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt family got a bit bigger -- we sold over 6 million copies of the game in six weeks since launch. Worry not, I won’t discuss any financial stuff here. I would, however, like to give you some insight on what that means to us as game creators.
One could think we have six million reasons to be happy and that’s it. We do, but that number is also a big responsibility and I want everyone to know that we, as a studio, realize that. For us, all your high praise, all the positive reviews, are also an obligation -- we’ve made a really good game but there’s still a long road ahead of us. Everyone here in CD PROJEKT RED is really attached to their work and how you, the gamers, perceive it. RED is full of artists, wild dreamers and people crazy about what they do (and sometimes just plain crazy). We lose sleep over that particular colour the sun has when it sets over Velen, and argue over arranging the furniture in a house the majority of gamers will probably never see. We’re not the kind of people who are easily satisfied and we always strive for more. I’d like you to know that.
Yes, six million copies is a great achievement for a company making RPGs, but this business is not only about that. If our games are a gallery of sound, picture and text - you are the visitors of this gallery. To an artist, there’s no sweeter sight than people enjoying their work. That’s why, in the name of all the devs in the studio, I’d like to say thanks to each and every one of you.
Thanks!
Adam Badowski,
Head of Studio
CD PROJEKT RED

Which is why multiple races will ideally be in the design document on day 1.
I do appreciate though that when given the extra year extension, multiple playable races made the list of things to be added. The way I role play say an elf is very different to the decisions I make as a dwarven character.

That D:OS 2 trailer gives me goose bumps every time.

D:OS2 kickstarter goal reached after... what... 12 hours?
Maker, it's the first time i'm telling (not asking, telling) my friends to back a kickstarter project. don't really care about the story, nor C&C, i simply love the combat and co-op experience in D:OS.
