If they have a lot of the lore in the next DA game included thanks to a DLC from the prior game, I'm going to be very mad.
I already bought DAI, if anything major antagonists should be introduced in the base installment of a prior game, or be introduced in the main game itself.

Are you locked out of Trespasser due to old gen? I'm sorry, if that's the case.
Who knows what will happen, but I think if anything, they might broadly introduce a more immediate qunari threat. That said, I think it's all fair game - books, DLC, etc - as long as they add the justification and background in-game.
DAI is a decent case in point here, in that reading The Masked Empire granted a lot of valuable context for Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts. Now, I actually did read the book ahead of the game, so I knew quite a lot about all parties involved. IIRC, you really had to dig (and/or get lucky) to get the same information adequately conveyed in the mission. I think the whole thing was better and clearer having read the book. Of course, you could argue that I was approaching it from a metagaming perspective, since I had knowledge that the Inquisitor certainly did not - and that's something people try to avoid sometimes, as well, which works too.
End of the day though, I like DLC generally (if it's good and provides value) and the meatier DLC might very well provide fodder for future game content. We can always seek out that material if we're so inclined.

I did
yes i loved that quest

"Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts" is a quest that I very much liked but I felt too much valuable context, background information and characterization were left out that were otherwise provided by "The Masked Empire". I felt that including these characters should come with some more information made avaliable to the player's character and the people who have not read the book. I would consider that at most, it would have been good to provide more quests with the characters so that the "Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts" quest is a culmination, rather than the first and last quest featuring these characters outside of the Wartable.
Take Empress Celene and Briala's relationship; I can fully understand the players who were surprised about what they learned on the forums about Celene's part in the death of Briala's parents. C'mon Briala, really?

In retrospect, it really does feel like the book was basically a tie-in to that one quest, doesn't it?
I agree with you, though. Good quest, but a little dense and inaccessible for some players, at least the first time through.
On topic, seems like TW3 does do this very well. I have never read any of the original books. I've played the games, read the ingame codex entries and books and stuff closely, and generally paid attention. As a result, I feel that I have a fine handle on the world, its major players, factions, etc, Geralt's history with all these other characters. The background information is conveyed naturally and organically, which is nice.
I don't know what the precise solution is, because it seems to come down to showing versus telling, and I for one really like the extensive, detail filled codexes and supplementary stuff in DA. I like picking through it for interesting or intersectional stuff. And honestly, the setting in DA seems a lot more expansive, detailed, and ambitious than the Witcher's setting overall, which seems to stick to a much smaller geographical area, with a smaller cast of major players, and a less comprehensively realized in-universe history. Conveying all that organically through the gameplay... might just not be possible. It would be awkward.
Another thing dragon age franchise can take form witcher are the finisher moves...
Really the finisher are fast but even realistic somehow i can see them working even for a click kind of combat ala inquisition... The overall animation of the weapon swing is simply amazing and fluid...
Instead in inquisition we have stupid flashy animation anime like... that is a thing that for me is a game breaker element expecially in a western RPG...
instead of...
Witcher3 anims looks fluid amazing and behave more natural... Inquisition anims are choppy flashy and anime style....
*snip*
In my opinion, anime tends to come in several different styles that are very different from each other in terms of just about everything like details, color palette and animation quality. Some styles are made to be very realistic and detailed.
Anime is not something I would consider definable by one style nor do I believe the word would invoke the same style to everyone.
yes i am aware of that... for example i love berserk...
Yeah, I'd say DA:I combat was more MMO-esque, rather than Anime.
I don't think fallout4 will be this competitor...Maybe will be because many people are overhyped about it.. But honestly bethsheeda does not shine in regard of writing... Yes they do nice open world games but that's it... And since their new policy is dumb down games to make it accessible even to people that dislike rpg... I don't think fallout4 will be my cup of tea since they chosed to use a voiced protagonist...
Is also most likely possible that fallout4 will bring back paid mods... That of course will be cause a huge cut of bethsheeda follower based since they hate paid mods....
Skyrim lost several points on the rate when they attempted to introduce paid mod that is a matter of fact so in the end i think betsheeda now is playing the supergreedy card...
I Really hope to be wrong.... But i fear fallout4 will be more "shooter" than rpg.
The Empress ending is the one and true ending.
I got the WItcher ending my first time and didn't like it much. I then saw the Empress ending and loved it so much I replayed the end of act II and the whole of act III to get it.
I prefer the Witcher ending, but the Empress ending is major feels.

Well done subjecting the people of the North to slavery. ![]()
Witcher 2 Roche would be ashamed of Witcher 3 Roche. He lost the right to be broche when he turned traitor.
Bah, I'll take Tywin Lannister over Radovid the Witless any day. Both are horrible people but at least Tywin doesn't have a pyre fetish. :S

And thus, Witcher ending is my canon. :3
(I actually knew that but it only clicked just now that you've said it, I suppose that's why Geralt refused Emhyr's help when he said the Nilfgaardian troops would be lead by Voorhis. Dad instincts kicking in. Hah.)
