Of the two "good" endings, the witcher ending is by far the more faithful one when one knows the whole story from the books etc.
It was emotional for me, I sort of suspected a happy ending isn't ensured in a such a world and a such a game, I honestly thought Ciri was gone.
When I got the sword, I thought it was Geralt paying a tribute to her and meeting Yen/Triss.
I was literally on the verge of some tears of joy when I realized she was okay.
As for the Empress ending, it's the 2nd best world ending IMO (Dijkstra ruling is by far the best one for the North, but you have to betray Roche for that - so, never gonna happen, BRoche is my man)...
But it isn't something Ciri would want.
And it all honesty, f**k Emhyr. For non-book readers, Charles Dance doing the VA might have clouded the fact that Emyhr is a colossal douche.
He is much more evil and disgusting than he is grey. I'd never give up Ciri to him and I gave him the middle finger every time I could.
